Just saw your review of Mirai Nikki, it starts out pretty slow so I completely understand why some people would be turned off by it, I was the same way when I watched it the first time, pretty much had to force myself through it but I'm glad I did because the ending is worth it in my opinion. As far as other psychological anime, the guy below me provided you with a pretty good list, though I think Ghost in the Shell (1995) and the Stand Alone Complex series stand well above the others.

If you want a good psychological anime i recommend:

Code Geass - similar vibe to Death Note with mechs and a sort of superpower.
Shiki - Vampire horror, but more psychological imo.
Serial Experiment Lain - shit is deep.
Psycho-Pass - futuristic society questions morality and what makes someone a criminal?
Neo Genesis Evangelion - one of the most controversial anime.
