I mean, the story is very very very very very cliched, normal, but its still worth the read.

It's cute, althogu it is cliche, you still want to keep reading on. And I liked that it was fast and did not last forever and ever like some other mangas :)

Developed and lovable considering the author had only 45 pages to make them

It's strange, because regardless of the weird story, the unenjoyable script, the random events and the unexplained, well, everything, it was still very enjoyable! It's just one of those things that you can't deny you've enjoyed, but you have no idea why. So this is my attempt to explain why...
I think is uniqueness and strangeness is the reason it's so famous.
Story:
Strange story, not something that I would think I enjoy, in total honesty. So if it were a book,it would not have been nearly as good. It just a girl, going into this strange place, which turns out to be magical and works hard ... to get her parents back. But regardless of all that, the little events that really did not contribute to the outcome were fun to watch, and interesting. Like the 'no face' person who apparently eats humans, and yet randomly, is good at sewing (lol wtf?). But this randomness was funny, and entertaining. And the dragon boy person was a river? LOL, she's in love with a river? And the twin sister, one minute she turns the giant baby into a big mouse, and threatens to kill the river, and the next she's a whimsical little granny. There were so many other random events, that make it so funny and so random that you don't know what to expect. I'm sorry if I made it seem like a bad thing, but in fact, it's a good thing. The use of randomness in most films is horrible, but in this film in particular, it was really good.
Art:
There is no doubt, the art is outstanding. It is also another reason that I liked watching it regardless of its stupidity. The art guided me along. The sharp colors, and strangely creepy creatures (the granny XD) and everything else was just so good. Looking at it, it did feel like a fantastical world that is isolated from reality, and so it did what it intended.
Sound:
I have nothing to say about it. Nothing particularly interesting or uninteresting about the sound.
Characters:
As I said, I liked the weirdness within the characters. But I thought that Sen's character developed too fast. At first she was scared and everything, and then she was talking back to everyone, trying to get a job or whatever (and why she needs to get a job was never explained btw). But I think that was deliberate. But if only she wasn't as scared in the beginning, it would have seemed a lot more realistic.
Enjoyment:
It was, undoubtedly enjoyable, although it wasn't too rich in terms of story or character. What made it good was mostly the art, and the use of funny randomness.
So it's definitely recommendable, but i have a feeling that this is the type of anime that people will interpret in different ways.

The person who wrote Code Geass must just have a way with knowing what people don't expect and confusing us until the very very end. I liked it, but the first season was better in my opinion. Now, this review is for the people that want a very simple and concise review of it, because I am not in the mood to write every single detail:
Story:
Everything was good up until the last few episodes when he became (spoiler) and began fighting everyone. It was just overdone! Too much fighting, not enough narrative. And too many 'technological advances'. In the end, they're not really important. But ... the ending (as in last five minutes) was epic. Very smart, very well-thought out and very sad.
And so, I am not kidding when I say that the writer of this knows how to surprise people.

Art:
Nothing to say really. Classic anime.

Sound:
I love the music in this. I don't know how to elaborate, but the music was just very fitting to the situations. Especially the last five minutes. Even the opening credits, the songs get me addicted.

Character:
The characters were interesting, but unrealistic, and I think that the writer didn't intend this. He wanted the characters to be real with real personalities and all. But all the characters just coming and going to different sides was unrealistic and it was a bit confusing. But, the characters, especially Lelouch's character, were very interesting to watch, and so they were enjoyable.

Overall, I liked this anime. It's the second anime I've seen and so hopefully, my expectations of the future anime i want to watch aren't too high :)

My second Manga... and I must say that I was surprised after the low expectations that my first one set for me.

But, it was really cute... enjoyable and everything.
The art is really good and you just wanna get into the Manga world and pinch their cheeks because the characters are sooo cute and well-drawn.
And I'm sick of people who over-analyze and say that the characters arent well-developed. They expect Manga to be like 50 chapters for a character to be complete. I think the characters are very well-developed to and the Manga isn't boring as a result. I got to enjoy the characters and I ... understood them.
I must say that the author of this manga knows her limit very well. She knows when the readers get bored and so makes it exciting when she thinks that. And so all the little pointless stories aren't over-done like in the first Manga i read (which was just horrid). I think that the Manga did everything it needed in the 8 chapters.
but there were some of those little pointless stories, which is why it wasnt perfect.
But I still like it.
Read it if: a) you like cute-looking characters b) want a short but well-developed manga c) like cute little romances that dont happen immediately d) appropriate, nothing sex-like or perverted e) your bored
dont read it if: a) you want something perfect b) you want A LOT of romance c) you like things that end in sex

Lol, the only reason i gave it a ten all the way through is because thats the way i remember enjoying it when i was young!
i loved it. I mean, it made me cry, laugh and got me obsessed. I mean...
I remember feeling for the characters and loving the big eyes (wasnt aware of anime) and just drooling at the story and it was all amazing for me.
I dont want to rewatch it now because maybe I have outgrown loving it so much. But, i would reccomend this to the young boys and girls below 13.
Its just perfect.

this is the first manga i read... and i absolutely HATED it.
I swear, its so boring. theres nothing in it... its just stupid little stories. No comedy, typical romance (none of the EEEP moments), very stupid. The characters are not well-developed, and it just stinxx!
bcz its the first manga i read, and the ppl r praising it 2 death, i'm thinking, maybe manga isnt for me bcz the expectations 4 manga seem rlly low.
the only thing that kept me from giving it a 1 is that the drawings r nice and the blindfolded analogy is cool..
BUT.. the story is horrid. A nightmare to read.

I really didnt like this anime. It was painstaking to go through. I mean, compare it with other anime, and this is absolute crap. I was like, COME ON, give me one of those OMG CUTE moments, but it didnt. Please... This was the 1st anime Ive seen and this set my expectations 4 anime to be very low and so I stopped watching anime until december 2010.
please dont watch this. the live-action one is sooo much better (which is why I watched the anime) but, I didnt like it. Please don't watch it if ure looking for something that you wont be bored to ... death from.

It was a bunch of guys that told me to watch this one year ago. I checked out pictures and read the summary. I didn't like it. Maybe if I was a guy, then all this robotic stuff would be appealing.
It was not until this girl told me to watch it that I decided to give it a shot. And I did. And I loved it.

Its so original. So addicting. I mean the openings and closings addicted me (mozaeku kakera... love it). It just so good ppl. Those ppl who r reading these reviews to determine whether or not to watch, WATCH IT DAMNIT. It's ... amazing. Dude, even ure these girlish romance-loving ppl. It's amazing. It has soo many WOW momentss. I love the idea of friends fighting against each other and not realizing it. and the shirley-lelouch thing is so cute. Everything in it was so good!
I never thought that an animation is able to create a character and make you feel for them. but this one changed my idea (this is the 2nd anime ive seen). And I also thought ive outgrown falling in love with Anime characters.. but Suzaku changed that idea (sorry Yufie)
--the only thing keeping me from giving it a 10 is that there are a lot of military terms, and lots of fighting. I didnt understand what was happening during the fighting most of the time, but i survived watching it without. BUT OTHER THAN THAT- loved it to death.
You know what would be epic? if this anime was turned into a live-action film or TV show with japanese ppl being japanese and the Britannians being Caucasians. I swear thats a good idea. Don't you agree??
