ooooohhh that was a lot longer than I expected! but thanks for fleshing out your thoughts, it was interesting ^^ it's good that he recommended it so much cause I probably wouldn't have checked it out before, but I'll definitely give it a look now. same with rezero I think? there are shows that I pass off as just regular for their genre until someone points out things that are different about it.

and two whole seasons in a day?? what stamina lol, I haven't done that in... a long time. believability in why they like the MC is pretty big for me too, cause that always bugged me in the like, 3 harem shows I've watched (cough nisekoi cough). but I guess if I like the MC myself I'd be more willing to understand a character's reasons, heh. interesting about being suspicious about the female characters-- I wonder, say in a show aimed at a female audience, shoujo or otome or whatever, would you be suspicious of male characters in the same way? and this is kind of a tangential thought, but also interesting you say that because I've sometimes felt like the girls tend to be the most vibrant or developed characters in harems, and it's the MC's flatness that ruins the interactions-- saying this with limited experience though!

ww sorry you can't talk about heroaca even though it seems you really want to-- I'll probably cave on that soon! it sounds like you really value the authenticity of a character, which is a great thing to look for in my opinion!! it's nice that you can put what you look for in concrete words like that, it's something I'd find harder. like my brain tends to be fuzzy about these things unless I find someone who says exactly what I couldn't put into words, and then I'll be like, "yeah, that was it!!"

OOH and I just looked it up and the OST was done by hyakkoku hajime, who did the K-On OST, so that makes sense it's good hehe ^^;; (I didn't know he was still doing anime soundtracks!! I remember reading an article once about his influences a long time ago, it was interesting) anyway, I'll make sure to not watch episode 0, but yes! thanks for the in-depth recommendation :D

(was wondering whether to mention it here or on twitter but) I noticed you liked saekano?? it never was on my radar cause I thought it looked like most of those usual harem shows but I'd like to hear what you thought!!

I don't even know why I finished golden time lol;;;; but I think that you need to experience bad shows to know what a good show is, so maybe that's part of the reason. ((or maybe I just take this hobby too seriously! XD)

I've caught up with rezero so!! actually I've yet to get to this week's episode, I'm up to 20... but yeah! I'm glad I got curious by people watching it and decided to try it out myself, because at the start of the season I just judged it as being another of those light novel shows like SAO. but it's really redeemed itself! my favourite part is subaru haha, I've seen him get a lot of flack but I like how his development is going... I found him cute from the start because of his enthusiasm (always weak for energetic characters orz), so when he's going through all these negative changes, I'm cheering for him from the side lol. he's a breath of fresh air compared to your usual self-insert protagonists! if you look, I put him in the temporary last slot of my favourite characters list;;;; and I'm curious to hear what you think of rem... I was going on about this on twitter but I felt like some people were misunderstanding where her feelings were coming from after episode 18? hmm... I think I was kind of made aware of it by froggy and people, but when I see people lauding her for her devotion to subaru and calling her love sacrificial and pure it kinda... :/// because I myself got the feeling that rem is only willing to go so far for him is because she herself is broken from her past and doesn't know how to love properly. that's why I like rem so much and that's why episode 18 made me quite sad. it's kinda vague and I'll explain more if you need. what do you think? and also, what do you think of the whole emilia vs. rem thing?

hmmm it's kinda weird, haikyuu both energizes and tires me at the same time?!? maybe it's like, it takes energy to start an episode but at the end I feel... not quite energized, but satisfied? and happy, and motivated? it's a weird relationship hehe

I hated everyone in golden time omg. I dunno how I'd feel about it now but at the time of watching it I got sooo irritated because everyone was acting sooo stuuuupid. lol I can't really say anything intelligent about it because I don't remember, but that's how I felt. Kouko was terrible D:<
pfft then again, it's more the mediocre-bad things that waste time-- if I really find something that is a 1, watching it would be an educational and maybe even entertaining experience xD

yeahhh slightly tangential but I feel like as an anime watcher, I've been deprived of actually complete endings where all the development is complete and everything ties up nicely. a lot of good shows just end in bad places. those shows that are less shows than advertisements for the source material. I appreciate how the adaptations do their best to tie things up, but sometimes I wonder how different things would be if I was into novels or something instead lol

:O tell me which part of rezero once I catch up! there's a lot of discussion about the show and it's nice because it's one of the times the most popular show is also one i like which is also one that creates interesting discussions! ww I follow a bunch of anime blogger people, the guy i mentioned is @frog_kun! and y-yes... I am on twitter too much orz in fact I really need to stop going on there so much, it's just that place I go when im too lazy to do anything else and then i spend hours there oops. the conversation system isn't the easiest but it hasn't bugged me for a while, either they made it better or I got used to it haha. if you want though you should come join me! it's fun and even enlightening if you follow the right people--! but if you do you might see an unexpected side of me o.o

hehe I'm flying through rezero, it's just the right balance of heavy and light that I don't need to expend a lot of energy to watch it (like I do with haikyuu orz) so we can discuss it soon yusss

haha, same though! I rated golden time a 3 even though I don't reallyyyyy think it's thaaaat bad because in my opinion IT SUCKS AND IS BADLY WRITTEN AND it was so annoying to watch omg
I don't have anything a 1 though because to me, that's like scum of the earth level. that actively degrades the human race. like the bratz tv show. (I was watching that the other day and crying thinking of all the children it ruined)

I see, I see! though huh you're the kind of person who can just skip through the show huh? like my friend, who just fastforwards through and then gets confused after XD (my other friend is worse though, she just reads the wikipedia summaries and then acts like she watched it all lol) I never watched beelzebub, so I'm not toooo sure what you're getting at, but I think I understand! in my case, well I don't really mind what genre a show is, as long as it's good at what it was trying to do!
I don't think too much either, unless I'm REALLY on the fence and wanna make something a 7.5 lol. it's mostly just based off gut feeling. if it makes me cry it's an automatic 10 though. but that never happens.

I have that downloaded right now. rezero. I'm excited to watch it! a guy on twitter I follow won't shut up about it, so I felt like I needed to. I'll tell you what I think once I catch up!

ahh really? that's interesting, that you choose not to rate those shows. I say "interesting" because I don't really relate to it, ww. though, it's very considerate of you! personally I just rate according to my own priorities. like, love live was completely not up my alley even though I recognize it was good at what it was doing. it still got a 5, hehe. care to give an example of one of those shows?

ww I never use the community much either, mostly cause any friends I have who do like anime don't use this site. I come on here all the time though, I like looking at what people (strangers) like in their shows, I feel like it tells me new things about them LOL. and updating my list after I watch something makes me feel like I'm doing something with my life... ahahahaha. also I'm glad you didn't update to the really ugly new list design, I can't bear looking at that >.> are some things unscored because you don't remember them or?
