Coming from someone who has never been able to listen to classical music of any sorts this series completely reshaped my thoughts and values. The music gives the show so much power to actually reach deep in-side you much the same way like Clannad was able to through the character development.

Just to be clear character development is a strong suit for "Your lie in April" but the music that accompanies it transcends that and makes it feel to be a part of you.

Story 10/10: It's about a girl who told a boy a lie when they met one day in April. After two ...

Preliminary (13/26 eps)
While I'm not finished with the series I felt I needed to write something about this anime. It's not your typical romcom by any measure. The romance seems intense at times and the comedy comes in quick to relieve the supposed tension from the encounters but it does so in the greatest way possible. And on the the breakdown thus far:

Story 10/10: This isn't your typical romcom and it doesn't set out to be compared to others like Clannad and Toradora. It may seem more light hearted when compared to those but the subtle inferences that occur get you hooked a few episodes in if ...

Angel Beats! (Anime) add
Not sure why some people knock on this series for lacking in any area. With a 13 episode run time I thought it was extremely good. Sure it couldn't expand on everyone's back story like you;d want but it'd also set the final couple of episodes up to fail regardless of how much you wanted to learn about some of the characters.

Story (9/10): Very original content that was well thought out and executed. Young teens, who happened to die on Earth, are sent to this place to fulfill the dreams they were never able to carry out during their short lives. It starts off as ...

Preliminary (8/12 eps)
While I was disenchanted with the first season since it was just a jumble of events, the past two seasons in the series have been steadily getting better. With Motto running true to the Manga and kind of having some plot flow it still fell a little short in storytelling. Darkness solved those errors and the only reason I gave it a 9 is because I am able to follow the sequence of events throughout this season without asking myself, "Where did this come from?" or "Why is this even included?".

I am a fan of the fanservice and harem genre but I was lost ...

Clannad (Anime) add
While I usually find writing something about anything hard I think I can make an exception for this show.

Before Clannad, I had only watched action anime (most with a little romance involved) but this was my first venture outside of the genre and I'm glad I did it although it was never intended. After exhausting pretty much every reputable action series I decided to give another genre a shot. Every site I went to mentioned this series so I decided to give it a try.

From the first two episodes I could tell it was different from anything, as many have described it as "poetry" and ...
