Glad that I was of help there. Dorohedoro definitely is in it's final arc so I don't expect much more volumes, but there's only... 3 chapters iirc for the current volume left and they definitely aren't going to finish it in those three chapters. So it's running for 9 more months at the very least.

Alright, I see. I might as well check out the manga then, though I'll probably still take a look at the anime just for comparisons if I feel like it. My backlog is already big enough, one more title doesn't make that much of a difference to me.

Oh, and I started Vagabond earlier today. Only read the first two volumes, I will probably read a few volumes per day. It's definitely good so far, can only recommend it.

Yeah, it features a cast of children. It's not as disturbing as Narutaru by the same mangaka, which was really bad about it, but it does have its moments. Then again I'm saying this based on the Narutaru anime, I imagine the manga is even worse about it. Bokurano can get fairly squicky at times though.

I would take ending announcements regarding Dorohedoro with a grain of salt. It's true that the current volume 20 is supposed to be the last, though I can't see it wrapping up yet, and it already happened often that it was extended by another volume or two. It's been like that for the last 8 volumes or so, but I'm glad it got extended because of how good it is.

Oh, and if you read 20CB, you should immediately follow up with 21CB, since it's kinda like an epilogue that resolves the remaining questions left after the end.

Yamada is probably something I'm going to binge-watch once it's finished, for the fun of it. My expectations for it are more or less moderate, since I can only judge the mangaka by her other work Yankee-kun to Megane-chan, though.

Judging from that description, Hellsing sounds like something Nightow could have done alright. Maybe less like Trigun and more like Kekkai Sensen, which is airing right now. So even if it's an anime, I bet you'd feel right at home there. The plot is honestly all over the place so far, but it just has style and badassery. Definitely entertaining.

Let's take a look at your list. You definitely have some of my absolute favorites in your plan-to-read list, 20th Century Boys in particular. Since you read Monster you should already be familiar with Urasawa's mangas are like, though 20CB goes more into Sci-Fi. Monster and Pluto are more in the thriller direction, while 20CB is more sci-fi. And god knows what applies to Billy Bat, since not even the fans are sure about this bundle of insanity yet.

I'm not sure about recommending Alive and Bokurano - both are very good in my opinion, but are also an acquired taste, kind of. Bokurano in particular might be called edgy by some, since the mangaka doesn't shy away from rape and gore.

What I would definitely recommend is Dorohedoro - the art might be a bit sketchy at times, but it definitely is one of the most creative mangas I've read during the last few years. It's just so damn unique, and literally everybody in the recurring cast is likeable in my opinion.

Trigun Maximum is something I'm always recommending as well - my very first 10 in terms of manga. Just make sure to read Trigun before Trigun Maximum.
And maybe if you enjoy it, follow up with Meteor Methuselah, since it has quite a few parallels to Trigun. Just that it's a Shoujo. That manga certainly needs more love in my opinion, since I barely see anyone talking about it.

Punpun is definitely something that has fairly high priority on my list, though it's competing for my attention with a few other manga from that list, especially Hourou Musuko and Vagabond. Technically I already started Hourou Musuko years ago (sometime in 2009 iirc) but completely forgot at which chapter I left off, so I intend to reread it again from the beginning soon.

I was aware of Aqua being related to Aria, though didn't know which one was the prequel and which one the sequel - seems like that question is resolved, then.

I'm not sure yet where Hellsing and Tsukihime are in my priority list right now, though. Admittedly Type-Moon didn't leave that much of a good first impression with me yet (though I didn't watch much from it), so Tsukihime will either have the chance to correct that impression or drag it down further, while Hellsing is something I'm probably going to save for a later time. I like the style it has - that's something that already impressed me a lot with the works of Yasuhiro Nightow, Trigun in particular, and I think Hellsing's pretty similar in that aspect.

Wow, now that's a high manga compatibility. Maybe not so much for anime, but wow, really high for manga. Nice taste there, even though I haven't read anything from your favorites (yet).
It’s time to ditch the text file.
