Bad, simply bad AND borderline criminal.

First let me start out with the good-
1. King of America is a hilarious name for a character.
2. Akizuki's many variants having their conflicting inner monologues after seeing Shirase do, well... "Things" with Misao, his niece/sister is actually hilarious and made me laugh once or twice.

Now, the bad- Straight up pedophilia. They don't even try to hide or sugarcoat it like other BAD anime. I've never been this uncomfortable watching something that isn't hentai. Only the first few episodes feature somewhat cool computer stuff all latter episodes are filled with early 2000s anime bs.

It's not a good anime, ...

Masaki Yuasa's love letter to music, storytelling, and all things creative.

Two young kids cursed by fate come together to craft banger hair metal songs in ancient Japan. It's an absurd premise, but absurdity is Yuasa's bread and butter.
The melodies and traditional Noh dances not only transport the viewers to feudal Japan but also illuminate the lives of the Heike soldiers, a mixture of history and myth that is intertwined with our main characters' story. The breathtaking visuals and meticulous storyboarding held me captive from start to finish. I honestly can't recommend it enough, it's a sensory trip.

Even if you skip the anime, give the ...

The Yuzuki Family's Four Sons proved to be a surprisingly engaging watch.

The first episode is kind of deceiving as it follows a somewhat cliché 'feel-good slice of life' formula, but the later episodes get very creative and downright experimental at times (i.e. episode 2 and episode 6).
The main characters work really well with the rest of the ensemble. The show takes a lot of popular tropes synonymous with the genre and spins them in a way that is original.
One thing that stood out to me was the friendship between Minato, the second youngest brother, and his best friend Uta. It's so rare to see a ...

Mixed Feelings
Well, this has been a rollercoaster if not anything, a rollercoaster of good and nothing episodes.

I didn't have high hopes but I did have good hopes for this show as it has been stuck on my PTW for about 2 years now. After finishing it I can say that it's one of the most mediocre shows I've ever seen. Most of the episodes are nothing episodes with essentially no plot(coming from a slice-of-life enjoyer), this 13-episode show feels like an eternity at times. All the good arcs are rushed leaving the watcher unsatisfied. Saying all this it's undeniable the first 2 episodes set up ...

Imagine if Love, Death & Robots was called Love, Death & Robots AND cigarettes.

Similar too the aforementioned series the manga varies in quality with each chapter. Some chapters; such as the first chapter are beautifully written and drawn to express specific emotions rarely seen in manga. On the flipside some chapters are extremely boring or nonsensical at times. Few of the characters also showcase very predatory and creepy behavior which at times can pull you out of the story. This manga is neither overrated nor underrated, a good read for when you're tired of the basic shounen stuff and just need a smoke break.
