My first anime was Ronin Warriors.
Favorite Genres:
Romance
Reverse Harem
Josei
Least Favorite Genres:
* Hentai (Lolicon, Yaoi, Shounen-ai, Shoujo-ai and Yuri)...or so I thought but the smut has been calling me lately
Magical Girl (This is why I can't bring myself to watch Sailor Moon)
Mecha (I'm technically challenged)
No matter how much I love the One True Couple (OTC), I often suffer from Second Male Lead (or worse) syndrome. Some guys on my "list" include but are not limited to:
- Hasumi from Kimi wa Pet
- Aoi from "Bara no Tame ni" especially his characterization by Joe/Bryan Cheng as Kui in the dramatization, "The Rose"
- Narita Shinogu from "Hot Gimmick"
- Miwa Satoshi, Tsuchiya Kei and Rokutanda Tsutomu from "Marmalade Boy"
- Rui from "Hana Yori Dango," but really his characterization by "Leader" Kim Hyun "Hyunnie" Joong as Yoon Ji Hoo in the Korean dramatization, "Boys Before/Over Flowers"
- Koga from "Inuyasha"
- Shou-sama from "Black Bird"
I can be found at mydramalist, anidb and anime-planet under the same username.
I greatly enjoy reading funny reviews, even and sometimes especially, ones that manage to accurately roast my favorites. In fact, if a review is funny enough, that sometimes tells me that the story is at least worth reading/watching so that I can yell at the screen.
Moreover, I can agree that many of my favorites don't necessarily reflect a perfect "10" score in terms of worthiness to be called "art." I have quite a few guilty favorites, especially amongst manga, that I wouldn't score above a "5" myself.

... I think you may have restored my faith in rabid fangirls, ahaha! But, really, all kidding aside, I relate quite a bit to everything you said - especially the part about what you like not necessarily being something you'd rate a ten, and that one can enjoy a manga and still recognize the flaws in them. I feel the same way myself but have never quite managed to summarize it so simply. It's probably part of why I generally think reviews and ratings are difficult to write (and likely not all that helpful in the end). Personally, I'm one of those that look for the long bad reviews first. ^^; I find them to be much more telling sometimes.

Ah, I guess it's what you call a case of there being a manga for everyone - to each their own for sure! Thank you for leaving a comment though. This was certainly unexpected, especially since I've insulted a manga you like so thoroughly. :P
(Sorry for the late reply; I haven't been around for a while...)

Thanks for the compliment. I loved the series, and I'm still reading the manga. I do believe it represents way better than the anime down the line, and the jokes mostly translate well. Also, the story arc I'm on has some potential for real character development, but whether this is permanent remains to be seen. Either way, I'm glad I could help.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed the review!
Unfortunately I myself am not much of a cooking person, or I suppose baking person in this case. I tend to stay away from anything which could result in a burn, but I suppose spicy cupcakes seem to be trending now!

The Blond Cowboy
A Sheriff in a small town in Texas walks out in the street and
sees a blond haired cowboy coming toward him with nothing on
but his cowboy hat, his gun and his boots. He arrests him for
indecent exposure.
As he is locking him up, he asks 'Why in the world are you walking
around like this?'
The cowboy says, 'Well it's like this Sheriff....
I was in this bar down the road and this pretty little red head
asks me to go out to her motor home with her. So I did.
We go inside and she pulls off her top and asks me to pull off
my shirt.... So I did.
Then she pulls off her skirt and asks me to pull off my pants....
So I did.
Then she pulls off her panties and asks me to pull off my shorts....
So I did.
Then she gets on the bed and looks at me kind of sexy and says,
'Now go to town cowboy. '
'And here I am.'
Son of a Gun. Blonde Men do exist.
An Arizona blonde decides to try horseback riding, even though she has had no lessons, nor prior experience. She mounts the horse unassisted, and the horse immediately springs into motion. It gallops along at a steady and rhythmic pace, but the blonde begins to slide from the saddle.
In terror, she grabs for the horse's mane, but cannot seem to get a firm grip. She tries to throw her arms around the horse's neck, but she slides down the horse's side anyway. The horse gallops along, seemingly impervious to its slipping rider.
Finally, giving up her frail grip, the blonde attempts to leap away from the horse and throw herself to safety.Unfortunately, her foot has become entangled in the stirrup, she is now at the mercy of the horse's pounding hooves as her head is struck against the ground over and over.
As her head is battered against the ground, she is mere moments away from unconsciousness when to her great fortune... Frank, the Walmart greeter, sees her dilemma and unplugs the horse.
And you thought all they did was say Hello.
