The Girl Without a Face is a touching and wholesome love story about a yokai girl with no face and her human boyfriend. Despite the many challenges they face (mostly through communication) you see their love for each other grow with each chapter. While the start of each chapter is a bit repetitive, they each go on to present a unique and thoughtful look into the couple's dynamic, and how any obstacles can be overcome with enough care and attention. The artwork is pretty solid, pacing is great, and while this one-shot is very episodic, you still get a good sense of an overall story

BL Metamorphosis is a refreshingly unique story that manages to accomplish a lot, but ultimately leaves a bit to be desired in terms of plot towards the end. The concept is a genuinely interesting one, and some themes that you don't normally see in manga (like the daily life of an elderly widowed woman, what it would be like to get into BL at an old age, etc.) are explored in a realistic and relatable way. The characters in the story are excellently written and very believable throughout, this is aided by some simple but stellar artwork that fits the character of the story perfectly.

Kuuki no Soko or "Under the Air" is a collection of short stories with no overarching plot. Characters are unique to each story and there is no presumption of a shared universe. Each story has something unique and thought-provoking to say about the human experience, and while they're not all flawless, the quality of the collection is consistently high. The art style is old-fashioned, but still brimming with quality and character. In particular, perspective and background detailing is used to great effect, keeping the stories visually engaging.
