oh dude I re-watched angel beats the other day with my friend, surprisingly I didn't shed a tear, unlike the first time I was bawling uncontrollably lmao.

what was your first experience like?

So uhh.. I just finished Sousei no Onmyouji.. Took one month oh boi..
It wasn't half bad but the times I cringed watching cliche'd moments were quite a lot. Romance was alright I want to say, not significant enuf but it's a shounen anime so I can't criticize it :P
Plot wise, it was predictable for the most part.
Music was certainly within my expectations, a shounen anime must have epic pieces of music.
Character, Benio is simply a tsundere, and Rokuro was the "baka" type guy. They're not interesting enuf tbf.
But uhh.. Not bad, but definitely not a 10/10 material, as of this moment i'm debating whether I should give it a 6 or 7.
Anyways, thanks for the tips, I'm just here to share my after thoughts with ya, may we speak again!

I feel as if Twin Star Exorcists is a mediocre anime from its cover.
I certainly read your spoiler free review, but it was rather inconvenient since your words did not manage to convince me, but instead it raised more questions as I am becoming more speculative about it.
1. Looks like SAO.
2. Read other reviews, and they said it succ'd.
3. Romance ended half way, am I correct? (I'm a sucker for romance.)
4. Also read that the plot is more like DBS, as it becomes more predictable as it continues forward.

Not here to rant, but I am looking forward to hear more about your genuine opinion on this anime.

I think the scoring system makes sense, it's the people that tend to interpret it wrong. Five is described as average, and while it may seem like a negative grade out of ten, it's in fact a fair representation in which the show is not bad but compared to the ones you percieve as better ones it is inferior in whatever way you believe. The higher you go on the scale, the impact should be much more important.. So when you reach very high highs or very low lows the difference of one score actually becomes much more significant, about twice as much than the impact between the scores in the middle. The representation out of 10 is not the standard one because the tags for each score determine its true value, that's my honest opinion.

I know what you mean, I salute you for staying true to your opinion because a lot of people are influenced by the opinions of others (I am partly included in that group sometimes haha, mostly because I see something from the others' perspective with which I agree and I didn't think about it myself). I didn't mean that in the general opinion way though, more of when you think of a certain anime critically on your own or when you want to describe it to a friend type of way. For me, the gaps between scores are a huge thing.. When I think of a difference between a 4 and a 5, there really isn't much quality difference, I think it's more enjoyment related then quality related but if I were to compare an 8 to a 9 I could apply structured reasoning for why one is better than the other without relying on enjoyment factor too much. The more skewed the score is, the bigger the impact between them exists. And all good haha, to be honest you picked out one of my more questionable score decisions which was indeed based more off of enjoyment or better said disappointment.

Plastic memories is really generic Imo, it started interesting and I loved episode 2 but then it went downhill really fast. The plot lost all it's Sci-Fi elements and it became a predictable cliche romance in which I didn't feel anything. I didn't hate on your profile, I was just suprised by your scores. While I agree that enjoyment is a massive factor, you should really consider the overall quality of writing and all the other elements. I tend to rate things within it's genre so my scores change over time as I watch more and more stuff but at the end of the day there can only be a number of titles worthy of being called masterpieces.
