Cute little show, does not do anything new with the story but it oozes cuteness
The relationships depicted in the show are quite exagerated, more so than most shows of its type, but the writers certainly had a way to go about it to make it all feel fun.
Not much else to say honestly, animation is pretty alright, characters are fun.
One gripe I do have with it is that the side characters hardly get explored, while the two main characters are a tiny bit too bland to really make you trully care about them, if the main couple was a bit less cliché or the side
...
characters were a little more explores the show would have benefited greatly.
That's about all, it's a cute watch and it will certaintly be an amazing 2nd monitor show when i get around to needing something on to focus on my work.

I might hate ecchi anime but i gotta say Prison School is quite the show, I was going to drop it when i realized it was an ecchi but i gave it a chance and boy am i glad i did.
The whole show just feels right, and although i wish some of the more obscene imageny was stepped down it was never really portraid as mindless "sexy girl good", everything was a caracature and exagerated on purpose, the principal's echo when he speaks alone shows how the show doesnt take itself too seriously.
The animation style is top notch, i especially like the bold blacks that
...
are used to represent the male characters when they are depressed or serious, and their cersur here and there, as for the female characters, eh, they look alright but the panty shots will have you rolling your eyes soon enough.
As for the story that is being told, i believe anime trully is the correct medium for it, nothing could ever match the energy this is going for.
I highly recommend this anime to anyone who's down to have a laugh at some ridiculous scenarios
It's an 8/10 for me

They are back at it again fellas, back to making one of the sweetest cutest "don't judge a book by its cover" anime of all time!
This season was a lot more focused on working with what was built on season 1 and less plot development, which is great!
Everything season 1 introduced either got used or developed, if season 3 closes out the plot threads that season 1 opened and season 2 refreshed then this anime is a 10/10 when it comes to overall plot pacing
Honestly I am not even sure what to say after this, if you liked season 1 you'll like season 2, if
...
you loved season 1 you'll love season 2, if you hated season 1 you'll hate season 2.
The CGI's beauty grows on you, but if you watched S1 then you know that, as for animation mistakes, I didnt notice anything too jaring, just a few inconsistences here and there, nothing major.
As for the characters, this show does an amazing job of keeping the plot bouncing between a few core characters, we get some extras here and there on this season but you don't even need to memorize their names and get a whole read on their personality, its great.
Such a good show, if you're a 12 year old who only watches anime for big boobies please watch S1 and S2 so you can turn into a normal human
9/10

Tragic what writers can do to a show.
I have season 1 a 9, partially cuz i liked the plot and saw potential in it, unfortunatly that potential was not realized on season 2...
This season is basically the exact same as season 1, the relationship is clearly a little deeper between our two protagonists but that's about it, its like you entered a reality where ep 1 of season 1 got a liiitttttllleeee more spicy the relationship developed just a tiny bit more because of it.
There is a lot more, how should i say it, "longing for skinship" on this season and that's about it for
...
the 'good'
Two of the new characters introduce add so little to the plot that you WILL forget about them till they show up again here and there, and the pet our main duo gets is basically just a little gag for some scenes, and that's about it...
As i stated and heavily implied on my review of the first season i really wanted the writers to either really pick up the "mystery" sub plot or just drop it entirely, well season 2 does neither, the OP actually does the diservice of emplying some sort of plot exploration of the subject but little to nothing happens, honestly it feels like we are missing 1, 2 maybe 3 episodes at the end of the season cuz there is just so many questions left in the air, not even sequel baiting, actually just nothing burgers for an ending, there is no payoff at the end for all the mystery, there is no cliffhanger, it fact, the show ends with a "from now on....... nothing will change" basically, its a bit ridiculous when analyzed.
That being said... it is what it is, more of the exact same, if you liked season 1 then there you go, 12 more episodes of the same, some character growth but not much, some new characters but not much (interesting at least), some new scenarios and challenges for the couple to deal with, more "we wanna fuck but we don't actually wanna fuck" some old season 1, 2.
I'd give it an 8 but because it didn't add anything of value to my experience with s1 then i have to bump it down to 7
Recommend if you wish S1 had 12 more eps

Get ready for wholesome cuz you are about to enter wholesomes'-vile with this anime!
Where do I even begin to praise this anime? The visuals are on point with the mood, i doubt any other style would make justice to the story being told, the story itself is a total treat and the pacing feels absolutely fantastic, even animation mistakes are funny, i know i laughed!
Starting from the top, the visuals are just amazing, they won't blow anyone away nor are they super stylized, but they fit so well, the blushing effects, the way characters are drawn, nobody looks over the top nor do they look
...
like the team put all their eggs into that one basket, they all look amazing, very pretty girls, even the MC has a cute charm to him (it was very effective)
As for the plot... well, the to put it short it was amazing, but if i am to be real blunt about it, the whole "she's not what she seems" plot thread is not only extremely obvious from the very start it is pretty poorly executed, but i doubt anyone's watching "Tonikaku Kawaii" for the mystery-undertone plot are they? So in the end it really just boils down to the core focus, the married life story and oh boy is it good, the writers could have taken the easy way out and make this a slice of life anime where nothing's connected and nobody ever learns anything, its just a reset buton at the end of every episode, but they didn't, and I am OH SO GLAD we live in this specific dimension, cuz this love story does not start strong and end strong, it starts weak, with the outsiders to this love doubting it and trying to foil it at times, and ends with this crazy love proving itself as true, and that true love is what really seals the deal with other people and has them accept our main duo.
When it comes to the pacing i wanted to bring special attention to it, even outside of the overarching story the pacing itself feels not only amazing, it feels real, feels like youre actually looking into a real relationship, neither character is perfect, both the male MC and the female MC make plenty of mistakes, and even with that in mind neither of them feel actually flawed, they feel real, and just like a real relationship has times where it speeds up and slows down, the show too had moments where one of the characters is more so off screen, the writers are not affraid to have our male MC be busy and focus on the female MC or the other way around, or even them both!
On a side note, it bugs me a little when the narration type changes on the fly, which happens on the "13th episode" which kinda isnt part of the first season but it still is...
As for the animation mistakes in specific... its just fun, i only actually noticed 2 animation mistakes, both of them made me not only laugh out loud but also screenshot it and send it to my friends (if you know you know)
And now the BONUS ROUND: dirty jokes!
Alright so, i know this show is meant for kids, but only about 40% of the dirty jokes land, the other 60% just don't really make it for actual adults who know how sex and such works, if you're at least 20-something most of the dirty jokes will make you roll your eyes at least a bit, BUT i wont be too harsh on this cuz i am fully aware that kids (me included when i was younger) really not only laugh at them but see themselves on them, being unconfortable on a womens underwear store is something a 15 year old finds extremely funny but... you know, as an adult that's just something that yknow, EXISTS, no harm being a male in one of those, other people wont really care that much, that sort of stuff
Overall it was a great show, i am incredibly torn between 8 and 9, the damn mystery subplot really sours the first season plus some few narration inconsistencies make me want to give it an 8, but honestly it is just fun. 9 it is

This anime is just really good, everyone's comparing it to spy x family so i won't delve into that in specific.
That being said the show is great, from start to finish every single episode is packed with content, not a dull moment with this one, yet it never feels overbearing.
We follow just a few characters which are meshed together in just the right way to make the story flow right at every step of the way.
The animation is very stylish, it shines brightest whenever our 2 protagonists are close to their little daughter as they both look quite rough and rugged from how their life
...
shaped them to be up to the events of the show, while the child is very much so the opposite, the contrast is not only expressed in narrative it is also expressed visually, amazing.
The action scenes feel action-y and fun, the funny scenes land, i laughed out loud at one of the last jokes on the last episode which really caught me by surprise, had to pause and all, really goes to show how good they are.
On top of all of this there is no sequel bait, and most importantly of all (and this caught me by surprise) there are no sexual undertones to the show, the two leads stay friends till the end (roommates), neither of them is the "player" type that pulls in fan service scenes, its overall very refreshing to watch a family-type comedy-type anime in which no character is being used as a device to put lewd-er scenes on screen, very cool.
9/10 would watch again, if they ever release a sequel im putting this at 7/10 out of spite for ruining my view on it

Alright, so, to write this review i went ahead and rewatched the 1st season, i initially had given it a 6 but on rewatch i gave it an 8, i think younger me had dropped the metaphorical ball and missed the point of this sort of love story, the beauty on this anime is on the underlying love to leads' actions, not so much what they show but what they do and why they do it.
Season 1 had a lot of jokes where somewhere along the line a "how would he/she react if we were dating" and that was part of the joke.
But this is
...
season 2, and on this season, they are basically dating, I came onto this show expecting the writers to have had a change of heart about the 1st season ending and just "oops, the relationship dynamic did not change at all, here have 11 more episodes of the same tier of shenanigans and then a final one with some more lovey dovey shit like season 1, BUT TO MY SURPRISE their relationship DID change as this season most of the jokes are "how would he/she react if we were dating" but with the other shenanigans sprinkled in, so the exact opposite of season 1!
Don't get me wrong though, both seasons are very high quality, but i think that while most episodes of season 1 are a little worst while the ending being really romantically rewarding, the entirety of S2 is really great but the end falls a bit flat on its face, I really am not sure if this season deserves a 7 or an 8 because of that, the romantic inside of me wants to give episodes 1 thru 10 an 8 and 11+12 a 7 while the critic inside of me wants to give a 7 to the entire thing as it did not progress the characters too meaningfully.
The show fell on the insane trap that is introducing extremely important characters super later on, this is obvious sequel bait but at this point this anime is a cash cow so eh...
Anyways, that's a 7 for me, maybe in the future with season 3 out i will go back and rate it higher, who knows

Are you a fan of the suspension of disbelief? Cuz if you are then this is the anime for you!
The whole plot hinges around this whole "marriage practical" assignment that these teens are given, well, it doesn't take a genius to figure out how that'd go in real life, and it would not be family friendly (or sadly, romantic...), the whole circumstance around the base plot of the show is shaky at best, but lets suspend disbelief.
On top of that, the whole love triangle does not really work, usually these sorts of love triangles play up the whole "circumstantial" REALLY HARD cuz that's the only
...
way to have a viewer suspend their disbelief, the two main characters do have some chemistry early on, even if their chemistry isn't the romantic kind i could not help but laugh at some of the jokes (and this means a lot coming from someone who does not really enjoy the whole teasing gyaru genre), but oh well, lets suspend disbelief and roll with the possibility that maybe the MC does NOT instantly report the female MC for being a jackass day 1.
Well, the other side of the triangle is looking bleak too, the main romantic interest is the most cookie cutter female you can write for a japanese anime ever, good at cooking, looks cute but not "sexy", is shy but strong willed, but not when it comes to love ofc, she's a total fish out of water then, on top of that she has a semi-mysterious back story that gets called into the frame when needed, yeah she is as basic as it gets, and yet our protag acts like a goofball who does not understand she's in love!!!! But suspend that disbelief too if you will.
The side characters have their moments but are actually the most normal people in the cast, when the writers wanna inject a touch of real life into the plot they use those, no need to suspend anything on this department.
Okay, i have shit on this anime a lot, but the art? Amazing, like, actually good, i had a total blast looking at it, everything was vibrant, stuff feels alive, it almost looks like the same person drew everything, it was positively impressive, i did not notice any animation goofs and that's really good! great job....... but.... well...
the erotic undertone... lets be real here, this does not feel like a normal seinen anime, it realy does feel a bit like a goofy ecchi shonen here and there, and look, i know that gyaru and all that, and her sexuality is explored more so to make her grow as a person, and that's super cool and i love it, but man, you could achieve the same level and impact on character development with half the boob shots, heck, a quarter... I do feel that the unfortunate design of Akari betrayed what could have been, the plot suffered from her tits being the jokes 1/5 times and her sexy looks another 1/5
When it comes to the romance... i have seen better, heck, i have DONE better, the concept is so good, but between all the suspension of disbelief and the lack of development of that very plot (due to it being basically impossible to write for) it kinda betrayed itself. Teared up here and there, nothing major, I really hoped for more motive and feeling to be extracted from the gyaru that feels she really is not "all that", oh and the end? Shit, abolsute garbage, the setup for the end and the metaphorical meaning in it is exquisite, the end itself? DOG WATER
6/10 - i will watch season 2 but only cuz i see so much damn potential on the Akari, that's it, MC = funny bad, Love interest = meh
I do recommend it tho, this anime is a masterclass on how to avoid a near- hit

Imagine the usual lewd but not yet ecchi kind of shonen comedy, you know the one, the panty shots, the boobs on the protagonists face, the never ending situations where the MC gets on top of things despite it being unlikely, yeah, that's the one you are imagining, now reverse the genders, and tweak the target audience from male to female, and there you have it, this anime! But fear not dear reader, this one really is not that bad, in fact i would say it is pretty good!
For starters, everyone loves and i do mean LOVES the MC, she is the end-all-be-all, the crown
...
jewel, the one loved by all that live and have lived alike! Honestly, its a blast, it's quite funny, this anime plays like a little girls fanfic about what her school life is like in her head, all the boys love her and are super competitive to win her over and triumph over one another in the pursuit of that love, the girls want to be her, the bullies wish they could even be her friends just to get a small amount of her insurmountable clout, her brother is super caring and loving, her "boyfriend" is the perfect man, not only a true gentleman that respects her boundaries, but also a naughty boy that knows how to push her buttons and be the hottest kind of "pushy", but wait! there's more! Not only is she hit on by everyone she knows she also gets to indulge on all she loves, from eating sweets to reading books, even working on a farm (which she does an amazing job at cuz she's just oh so perfect UwU), but of course she has her flaws! Yet... all her flaws only add to her charm so, they are not flaws, they are added cuteness in disguise... she sucks at studying so her friends get to ask her over to study and be on the presence of her, and her magic isn't the best but whenever she uses it it is just what was needed to save the day and have everyone fawn over her... and she might also be a total otaku, but then one of her friends is just the same so it kinda cancels out. (for more examples of this or if you want to get a feel for this anime start with the first half of episode 9, if you like it you will love this anime!)
This anime is not for everyone, trust me on that, the romance department is kinda lacking and even the isekai aspect is kinda meh, when it comes to romance, our main character acts too clueless and unaware of the complete dickriding that goes on around her that it really does not tickle my personal romance receptacles quite honestly, in fact, that's most of the "romance", its just a huge circle jerk with her in the middle and everyone just going at it while trying to deter the others from cumming too fast, it does have its charms but she is basically running a huge harem of both women and men, though at the very least it isn't the digusting kind of harem, no one is ever taken advantage of in any way shape or form and overall our MC really is a good person, overall I have seen worst.
The plot isn't the best, it has its "aw... that's cute" moments but aside form that the plot dead, if you are gonna watch this anime then pick an ep, any episode at all, and watch it, no need to follow numbers really, some eps are BANGERS on the idea department, the book episode (8) is super good and had me laughing out loud on one of the scenes, absolute masterpiece, ep 5 is also a blast, the last few eps kinda get a bit lost and the whole "villain" sub plot at the end is a MASSIVE plot hole but who cares, we're all here for the cutesy story anyways not the overarching mystery.
Art is whatever, cute, simple, unoffensive, nothing ground breaking but pretty cool, some animation goofs (and one of the characters chest gets bigger every episode for no reason, at some point you look at it and go "wait, that wasn't that big before" and then you cant help but look at how silly big it gets with every passing scene)
I'm torn between a 6 and a 7, i will give it a 6 for now, maybe one day i will rewatch it and give it a 7 though, it really is that charming.

Okay so this anime is pretty good, but only if you are into the subject matter.
For what it is it is pretty entertaining, if you are into japanese culture or overall learning more about weird little trivia, each episode has what's basically a little ad for some japanese candy, which might sound like a bore but the whole scenario that's played up for the ad is often very amusing, the characters are all pretty funny and vibrant, they all have a very destinct personality and are overall a joy to see them interact.
Speaking of characters, Saya and Hotaru (the two female leads) have a very
...
large wardrobe and they look super cute on every scene, Hotaru especially, her outfits are always amazing, it's quite impressive what this anime can achieve with her one note style. The boys on the other hand are not so lucky on this department, we do see them in some different getup here and there but nothing to write home about (shocker that the cute girls get more attention i know)
Anyways now onto the bad, the anime is childishly "lewd" at times, the same old boob jokes or the misunderstanding of something, Hotaru's cluelessness often (actually its more like ALWAYS) leads to her being put on some lewd situation whenever the script allows, it never misses, if its raining you get to see her boobs thru the fabric of her shirt, and i'd give more examples but oh well, its eye roll after eye roll with her, its old and tired but oh well.
As for the cute moments, well, basically every single cute moment between Saya and our protagonist is cute, it has a lot of romantic tension, you can feel how badly she wants him to stay in town, the works!
Between Hotaru and our MC tho? Well... boob jokes, jokes about "sucking it" having her sprayed with what looks like......... [and so on]
Overall the stupid lewd fetishization takes it down, but i still think that it is at least a 6 and at most an 8, no real flaws aside from that one very dumb very eye rolling flaw that makes me give it a 7
