Both music videos were created by Sugimoto Kousuke and so have a similar style and crazy vibe and the music in both was also done by the same person (Manabe Takayuki).

Coyote Ragtime Show

Both series are influenced to a certain extent by music, specifically types of jazz. Bebop in Cowboy Bebop and Ragtime in Coyote Ragtime Show; so they share the same kind of musical vibe. Both series have a very sci-fi western feel and both are set in an alternate reality where space travel is both possible and used by the every day man. The characters in both series are also fairly similar; the main gang in Cowboy Bebop are bounty hunters and the main gang in Coyote Ragtime Show are treasure hunters (quite like pirates). Both series have episodes set in space and other episodes set on various planets and both contain a good amount of humour, action and adventure.

There are similar themes of nature taking over, although for different causes and reasons. The main characters in both films also strike a few similarities: one being that they suddenly find themselves involved in a situation seemingly beyond their control and that they both have someone very close to them, someone they would go to the ends of the earth for.

Hijikata Toshizou: Shiro no Kiseki

Both are historical portrayals of the Shinsengumi. While Peace Maker's historical value is somewhat ruined for the sake of entertainment, it still contains a few history lessons. Shiro no Kiseki, however, offers a very good insight into the life of Hijikata Toshizo, the demon vice commander of the Shinsengumi, and seems to be quite accurate. It doesn't only show us his Shinsengumi days, but also follows the rest of his life all the way up to his death. Both are a must see for anyone wanting to learn about the Shinsengumi. The same characters and settings also appear in both, so it's nice to see how people interpret them differently.

Both are endlessly hilarious comedies with many amazing characters and funny situations. Both Gintama and School Rumble were also directed by the same person, Shinji Takamatsu, and I think it shows. Like one, you'll love the other.

Kara no Kyoukai Movie 1: Fukan Fuukei

The plot in both Ghost in the Shell and Kara no Kyoukai is lightly similar, you have a group of people out to save the day. It's the main characters in both films that strike the most similarities, however. Both Motoko (Ghost in the Shell) and Shiki (Kara no Kyoukai) have very similar personalities, they are both female protagonists with exceptional power and a uniqueness about them. Both characters appear human, but their body, or at least parts of it, is that of an android or doll. Both films also have a fairly similar feel to them, possibly due to where they are set, or the darkness, nature and themes within them.

Both manga revolve around the Shinsengumi. Peace Maker has quite an in depth story of the Shinsengumi, more so than Because Goodbyes Are Coming Soon, which only focuses on the teams last last dying moments. Both manga are also quite historically accurate, although in Peace Makers case it is balanced by fiction. The same characters also feature in both manga, and although they are of different interpretation, you can spot a lot of similarities. Both are outstanding manga and are definitely worth reading.

Koukaku Kidoutai: Stand Alone Complex
add

Both shows are very similar in the way they are arranged. Ghost in the Shell has both stand alone and complex episodes nearly all the way through, and Witch Hunter Robin starts with unrelated 'stand alone' episodes before getting into the actual 'complex' story. Both anime are fairly dark and mysterious, and both also involve a special police force like team. Section 9 in Ghost in the Shell, and the STN-J in Witch Hunter Robin. While they share many differences, Ghost in the Shell and Witch Hunter Robin also share many similarities.

Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl

While Da Capo and Kashimashi's stories are a little different, they do retain similarities. Both are school life anime, and both are about relationships - there is a love triangle in both series. The main character in Da Capo, however, is male. While in Kashimashi the main character is a girl, who used to be a boy - but in both series it's the girl's who are pursuing someone. Romance aside, there are also many comedic and dramatic moments to be had in both series. Also, Yui Horie and Yukari Tamura each voice one of the main characters in both Da Capo and Kashimashi. Which is a pleasant surprise, because the roles they play are very similar in both shows. While I was watching Kashimashi, it didn't scream out Da Capo, but it did remind me of it.
