This movie seems overdone in my opinion. This movie feels like it was written by Christians because if you watch the movie, if you know something about the Buddhism, the religion is based off meditation and not lecture. Its like if the writers realized that 98% of the population of Japan is not Christian and then they said "That's not Jesus, its... Buddha!" Don't believe me, take the transcript of the movie and replace Buddha with Jesus and any Buddhist reference and replace it with Christian References and it would make since, in fact better since because Buddhism doesn't have giant mega church. ... It you say otherwise, it is probably most-likely a fake church.

Some plot points like the girl seeing ghost is forgotten by the end of the movie and plays almost no part other than saving her brother. That girl saves the world from Aliens and then a Tsunami and it has nothing to do with Ghost. This movie feels like it was suppose to be a different movie all together. Who knows, maybe this movie was going to be about a girl who could see ghost and wrote about their live stories to help them find peace so they can pass on to heaven. Other than that, this movie is more propaganda then a movie. This movie just feels like a mess of different ideas and it suffers for it. Aliens and religion don't mix very well together and that is just one example.

At the end, if you want to see something crazy, watch this, I laughed this movie off with a friend because of how out of touch it is with what its catering too. So get a group of friends and watch this movie and enjoy.

When you come into the anime. The first thing you see is its Animated in FLASH. Adobe Flash. I'm not kidding. I'm scared of anime thats been animated in flash or CGI. It looks bad. It looks good at first maybe. Somehow it feels like they over animated the show. There is Flash Movement and it looks awkward. So the animation is bad.

Story is bland. Its a typical educational show. The main character tells us about farming in Japan with a spirit. Then the shows equivalent of Team Rocket (I'm not kidding. They blast off like Team Rocket when they lose and build robots). The ... main character and the spirit combine to make Baraki. And they save the day. Repetitive until the last episode. The story doesn't keep you on the edge of your seat.

This show is really meant for Japanese Kids learning about farming. I wouldn't recommend it.

When you find a Mermaid like Anime, it always follows the what I call the Mermaid Cliche. That is when a Mermaid and a Human fall in love. But this anime follows more of a magical girl approach.

Plot:

There is a legend on this island where there is a guardian of the sea, and guardian of the land. They have to defeat the darkness.

Kanon is a girl who thought that her boyfriend went for another girl, She throws her ring into the ocean. The ring is found by Marin and Urin and they decide to give it back to who dropped it in. They ... come out of the ocean and find Kanon and she says that she doesn't want the rind and throws it into the Forest. Marin and Urin go and find the ring but Urin accidentally opens the seal to the darkness. And Kanon and Marin are the guardians of the land and sea and they have to defeat the darkness.

I do like a lot of the ideas in this anime. The visuals in it are pretty and relaxing. I do like it also avoiding cliches. Also the character development is great. I like both Kanon's and Marin's personality. As the episodes go on, the series really does pick up. I also like how in the beginning , Marin and Urin can't breathe in Air like humans can't breathe in water. A lot of the ideas work in this Anime.

The only problem I have with it is the music. The Music is relaxing. That is ok, but only if it for the right scene. There is an action scene where relaxing music. They slowed it down to make sure it works. But it just didn't fit. It think it stands out more in the final episode, which has a sad ending by the way.

If your looking for a anime that is different magical girl anime and a different mermaid anime. This I do suggest it.
