Are you suggesting that there must be always a reason to add rape scene in anime ?! I mean someone out their might enjoy that stuff (just like someone out their enjoying watching pants shot). I think rape scene was good excuse to kill the people in the van, so there is a reason but even if there is no reason for it ? Why care ? it was just like 30 second scene at most ?
Also, episode 1 was boring for you ?! I though it was fun, the fight scenes are entertaining. Maybe you prefer non action echhi anime

The first Episodes and the following first Episodes can be quite average.
I know that it can be for many people. So maybe for you as well.
But it will improve a lot afterwards.
