Well, I'm glad you noticed my review either way.

GitS is a peculiarly outstanding series. I haven't finished it yet, but it has me completely immersed in its world and philosophy. The themes are prolific, the characters are intriguing, and the art and direction is top-tier. Generally, I find works that deal with collective topics such as the ones highlighted in GitS exciting so it's not much of a surprise that I'm praising it so much. The whole cyberpunk/sci-fi aspect combined with a world that's becoming progressively more and more dehumanized both physically and perhaps spiritually, and the costs of what such a world inhibit are shown through the eyes of a certain "specials team (military)" sector. That's one premise that's executed incredibly well and in a thought-provoking manner (and to me, the most appealing)

I can elaborate more, but I'd rather not spoil it if you're planning on watching it. I highly recommend giving the series a try if you find any of the aforementioned appealing.
