Not from what I've seen, unless you're bothered by more than one girl being around.

Yea... whoever told you that have some issues.
Colle/Col/Kole is a 12(?) years old traveling student -don't remember his exact age, but around that-
that they meet and he start accompanying them on their journey north.
He's very respectful towards both Lawrence and Holo, acting sometimes exactly like an apprentice of Lawrence, but also sometimes just like the former, gets trapped in Holo's word plays and teasing.
He plays a major role on the story latter on.

Oh, Town of Strife is great. Not as good as the Winfield arc tho, but still awesome.
New guy? Uhm, who's that supposed to be?
There's a lot of new characters showing up on the 7th and 8th volume, but none that would "cockblock" Lawnrece lol.

Maybe it's Keeman? Well, rest assured tho. Keeman is the chief assessor of the Rowen Trade Guild on Kerube, his only interest with the pair is economic, and honestly, he doesn't show up THAT much, even being one of the key characters.
More unlikely, but maybe these people meant Cole? Totte Cole? If it is, they're truly stupid, and you'll soon find out why.

Town of Strife starts on the 8th iirc, you're not there yet...
Colle is a permanent new add to the troupe, while Keeman is not.
There's also Lacoza, who's a boat rower, but he's also just a temporary traveling companion.

Tbh, there is not a single character that I disliked on these novels.

Thanks for replying.

Go for it.
But yea, most likely there won't be a 3rd season, ever.
There's simply too much material for them to compress in anime episodes, so either they would skip half of the novels or it would require +2~3 seasons. I'm pretty sure Hasekura is against the first, and there's no profit prospect for 3 more seasons, so nothing will come out.
The 2nd season came out with the purpose to boost novel sales, and it accomplished that.
The only chance for more S&W animated material is if Hasekura focus on the story again and write some kind of special/OVA/side-story, but right now I think he's done with the narrative, considering that he's currently working on his project with the VN, "World End Economica"

*A correction, btw. I said YenPress was on the 11, they're on the 13th in fact.

Yo, there's no need to spam, I saw your forum post ...and the PM, and the comment.

Asking of it's "worth reading" is really subjective. For instance, I'd say it's something I recommend to anyone, whenever or not they like anime or anything close to it.
It's a literature masterpiece and everybody should read it once in their lives.

As for if you should start by volume 1, the answer is no. Just skip the anime part. They did a 100% faithful adaptation that there's no use into reading everything again.
You might want to check out volume 4, tho. It stayed out of the anime due to length, but is mandatory, since it introduces new characters that will show up again in the late novels.
I'd recommend reading to official translation by YenPress till volume 11 (the last they translated so far) then pick Drunken Wolf Translations after it.
It takes a good while to read, and the first 10 pages of each book might sound a bit repetitive, but it's a masterpiece.

Thanks for this great reply.

Well, I think everyone is picky at the moment the decide to watch or not. For this reason I actually have dropped jsut a few anime. And we don't have enough time to watch what we dislike.

AW is yet on my to-watch-list. So I don't know what it is. But planning to watch soon.

About Guilty Crown I feel the same, there were a lot of moments that I enjoyed but overall expression isn't great.

Fate Zero has very nice picture, effects, yet I liked only a few moments there.

I think you might like Zetsuen no Tempest, for some reason it was feeling to me like Guilty Crown and a little Mirai Nikki
It’s time to ditch the text file.
