About StarSidereal
Just another ordinary anime/manga fan. Nothing special here.

Hm... found a use... this is just a reminder to myself since it is no use to me to use "My Notes" if I even have to remember to click into Edit Profile to read something that's supposed to remind myself of something else.

Manga read not in Database:
Koio Minato - Oretsue A to Z (Total 1 Vol.)
Shimasaki Yuzuru - Haou Densetsu Takeru (Total 20 Vol.)

Happy New Year!!!

baigeneo | 12-31-10, 4:52 PM
That's alright. I don't need to know right at this moment or anything, so it's not a problem. Besides, New Year's isn't even that far away, so I can wait til after. x3

Thank you for explaining it to me! Right now I'm too tired to read your "lecture" on the tube, but I look forward to reading more about it tomorrow. :3

I'd say Christmas definitely counts. Most people try to spend time with friends/family during Christmas, after all. (;

Sure, I'll send it to you on youtube -- as soon as I find which clip it was. xD

By the way, I had a random question. I was watching (or rather, listening to) a drama CD on youtube, and while most of it was translated, part of it kinda confused me... The person who translated the dialogue left one word as is, and I am not familiar with it. I tried searching for its definition, but I couldn't find anything, so I thought I'd ask you since you tend to have random tidbits of information. x3

The word was "mafuyou," or something close to that. And it was used when it was referring to a person who had been drinking since she was a child. She used to go out with her dad (or maybe it said grandfather), and he would give her a little alcohol every now and then. (I thought I'd give you some context instead of just tossing a random word your direction. xD) Does that word ring any bells to you?

Yes, it's like White Elephant. I couldn't recall the name of that gift exchange thing, so I'm glad you told me; it was bugging me. xD

Oh, hotpot sounds good... We didn't really celebrate at all for my family. Just another normal day for us. =P

XD Yes it did force me to come on here. I do come on here from time to time to update my lists or look for new things to watch. But I do not really do a lot of chatting on here. O: I see that you and Rachael do though. -stalks-

I'm not entirely sure about the details of the holiday, either. I think the gist of it is that you box up whatever gifts you did not like that you received and return them to the store. (Or at least that's the joke.)

But I've actually celebrated the holiday once. It was more of a gift exchange than anything. Everyone brings a gift he or she did not particularly like and re-wraps it. At the party people take turns opening one gift of the bunch. Depending on the number you draw, you get to draw first, second, third, etc. (The amount of numbers matches the amount of people.) Along the way, people can "steal" gifts from people. So if you were the first person to open a gift, but you got a really cool one, someone can take it from you, and that counts as that person's turn. Then the #1 person gets to choose a new gift to open (because now he or she is without one). Usually it is better to be near the end of the numbers so that you have your choice of any gift. Of course, each person/family has different rules. Some people only allow you to "steal" a gift once, whereas others do not really care how much a gift is stolen (or rather, rotated). It was kinda fun to do that, but of course, the gifts are not necessary the best since they are all rejects. But sometimes you do get lucky. One man's trash is another man's treasure, after all!

When is Chinese New Year this year? o:

Merry Christmas to you, too (although I'm a bit late by now). Happy Boxing Day instead? xD
