Wow. This one suprised me. Going in I expected a light hearted Fantasy Comedy about a Hero who switches sides. I didn't expect a show highlighting workplace culture and how to better work together as a team. That alone would have given this anime a reccomendation from me for trying something different. A 7/10 if you will. It's what happens about two thirds into the story that is the primary reason for my high scoring. If you are familiar with the Tekken 3 story you will likely enjoy this. It's probably the best Tekken has ever been represented outside of the games in my opinion. The writing is nothing special. I actually think it was underwhelming especially in the first episode. It does improve but it's not winning any awards. Its leagues better than in the games at least. The real reason you're watching this is for the fights and the animation. The animation is very good. Even outside of the fights themselves. But in the fights they definitely excel. I hate reviews, they tend to sound really pretentious and Im not smart enough to express my thoughts properly. But I feel pretty strongly about this one and I'm afraid some people might just dismiss it based on the synopsis.
My reviews are based solely off of enjoyment. This was a show that caught me off guard. I didnt really know what to expect going in. But it ended up being a show I really enjoyed. You ever watch a show, or listen to a song, or even see a photo that afterwards has you questioning your life choices? Makes you reflect on yourself? This may not apply to anyone else, but thats what this show did for me.
I won't tell you the art is good or the sound design or character designs are good because I can't tell that stuff. But I can say the characters are believable and the story writing is really well done. Im not really a mecha fan. Ive seen Code Geass and Knights & Magic. But if Mecha anime are like this, then I guess I am officially a mecha fan now.
Also, Im not smart. I cant tell you if the art is good, or if the sound design is good or if the voice acting is good (mostly cuz I watch shows dubbed so it wouldnt matter to most of you). I can say the animation is splendid, but I know that its because I can see how much fun animating this show was for the creators. And that really comes through in the animation. ...

Classic example of dont judge a book by its cover.
I learnt after wise mans grandchild not to judge shows on face value and try them before dismissing them, and i feel sorry for those who dropped Plunderer after the first few episodes. At first glance it seems like a standard ecchi fantasy romp, but the way the show evolves had me shocked. I havnt seen a show that blew away my expectations like this in a long time.
