Hi there.

First of all, my apologies for the late reply; the admin usually responsible for accepting new members has been inconvenienced for a while.

Kafka is cool. I've read Metamorphosis, The Penal Colony and The Trial already. I also like Chopin before but I rarely listen to him now since I've been inclined to music that are mostly anime-related; seeing that you have just watched Nodame, well, Suemitsu & the Suemith would be a good example.

>Updating manga

I don't even bother doing so nowadays, particularly on ongoing manga. Too tedious and my habit is to pick up whatever floats then read it again when it floats again. I don't really subscribe to anything unless it is good. More than half of what I've already read are bad titles though and I don't think I can recommend something similar to Nijigahara. If you think BLAME qualify as slice of life then you have a twisted view of that genre so I can't help you with that, here are just some of the titles that pops up on my head....

Suggestion: All Inio Asano manga, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei(if you liked the anime because chances for 4th season is dim as fuck), Kabu no Isaki(same author of YKK), Parasyte, Ryuushika, Ryuushika(An ongoing manga by ABe; it's like Yotsuba but has more wit than comical appeal), Legend of the Strongest Man Kurosawa, The Legend of a Strongest Man(by FKMT, not gamble-related but crudely funny yet depressing), Onani Master Kurosawa(you've probably read this already though), Chikan Otoko(same artist as OMK, good story), Eden: It's an Endless World, Franken Fran(funny and the girls are cute), Hating Girl(episodic misunderstandings but quirky), Homonculus( interesting take on the psyche with wtf-moments here and there), Town of Evening Calm, Tonnura-san(if you like cats)....

Read Knights of Sidonia if you like Tsutomu Nihei's works.

>I still have to watch the last episode

I take it that you also downloaded Commie's?

Neko(Black) is better than Nise but inferior to Bake. The story itself doesn't appears to have much significance but it's crucial to the next installment of the Monogatari series since Hanekawa's relationship with Araragi will play a huge role in Neko(White) given that the point of view that will be use there would be Hanekawa's.

Neko(Black) is obviously a low-budget production, evident with seemingly detached characters from the background and the lack of good OP/ED animation as well as good song. There's too much cheap focusing also and single frames with tons of dialogue. But on the other hand, the animation is still great as you can see SHAFT's penchant for night settings with full moon on background and the quirkyness in the arrangement of the chairs in the ruined cram school. Also, the bodies are rocking.

The entire Neko(Black) somewhat lacked impact mainly because Tsukihi and Karen, my least favorite characters, occupied lots of air time and the bloody part was like 1-2 minutes long. Nevertheless, I like the exchange of dialogues, more meaty and somewhat more subtle. Fanservice is present but I like it anyway so fuck it. Shinobu also appeared in it too so I'm satisfied. Nekomonogatari still carries that recurring occurrence in the Monogatari series: that people are troubled so they seek comfort from abberations(Kai) but ending up getting a negative result thus falling into a larger disaster. So far, the logic of Araragi's relationship in the Monogatari is still easy to grasp, but the only question that resides in my mind is why did Araragi said in the end with conviction that he would definitely not fall in love with Hanekawa? Probably it's Nisio's way of foreshadowing, who knows?

I'm not a native speaker either.

>having Kafka and Chopin as favorites

Didn't even know that those two were registered on MAL database. Both of them are good anyway.
