If I were to describe Date A Live in a single sentence, It'd be
"A work Inspired from The World God Only Knows, with lack variety and a less interesting Protagonist."
And I fully mean it. The concept is same as TWGOK, making the girls fall for you, thus eliminating threat they may pose. But such a concept needs other stuffs than the actual story, variety of characters the most. This is something Date A Live didn't do well.
First of all lets go with the story. It's as said in the synopsis. Whatever was made of it, wasn't too bad, yet nothing too impressive.
Next is
...
the characters. No comments about the girls, however, protagonist Itsuka Shidou, is probably it's greatest failure. Why is that he has no special traits. Why he always managed to pull it off is probably because the girls were quite distressed to begin with, and they'd have gone for anyone who tried to help them. In some cases, the help he gets even demeans what little he could have, or may have done.
The art, it's great. I have no complaints whatsoever.
the OP and one of the ED were quite good. Overall sound gets an 8.
Surprisingly, despite it's lacking, I've quite enjoyed the anime. It's fun, to simply put it. There's a good deal of comedy. And the art made the scenes quite enjoyable. Even so, if you're hoping for a good deep storyline romance this isn't it. At least not yet. There will be a second season, so there still hope for it to get more interesting.

Medaka Box is one of the anime that has greatly let me down. Being a fan of Nisio Isin, I hoped it to be a good anime. But it was nowhere near what I had hoped it to be. Please note that I didn't read the manga, so i am NOT gonna compare. Honestly the anime had a good potential, but unfortunately it ended up with more flaws then perks.
The first flaw of the anime is it's story. Story without any continuity is not that uncommon. In fact, it has become quite common it recently. To barely cover the setup and then burst off
...
to some random events - I like that type since it's good refreshment from deep, complex storyline. But unfortunately it didn't work quite well for Medaka Box. The short 12 episodes tried to do a lot, yet did nothing than merely gathering the characters. I do realize that this acted as a mere setting before the second season, where it will hopefully get into the real story. However, even so, it could've tried to be not so boring.
The second, and the biggest problem of this series - is it's lack of character development. Honestly, the other members of the Student Council then Medaka got around as much screen time as a decorative foot soldier of a war movie. They did almost nothing. Zenkichi spent most of his time explaining Medaka's forte. they got episode 12 for themselves, that's all. Thinking about it, they didn't do much except speaking about Medaka. So, in the end, Medaka got all the spotlight. Even if she is the protagonist, it's overdoing it.
The third flaw would be its grandeur and exaggerations. Well, it's anime, so that is forgivable. But the "pretentious appeal to innate goodness" - well, it gets old. Things like that goes well once or twice in one anime, not one per episode.
As for the good sides, the art is quite good. The grandeur becomes quite bearable, in fact, it becomes normal looking thanks to the art. And I have no complaints in the sound department either.
Overall, it's not a failure of an anime, but neither is one that may be considered very good. If you're not used to exaggerating actions and somewhat pointless stories, you're better off not seeing it.
Oh, and also, if you're familiar with Nisio Isin's works, then you might understand - this anime has that signature style of his. Honestly that was the only reason I ever started this anime.

Pool or Beach episodes are the most common content of OVA episodes you will find, regardless of the Genre. For any other genre it'd be a simple fanservice episode and with no significance to the original story. Well, in Hyouka's case, it can't be called entirely wrong. But even so, this is Hyouka, how can it go so simply.
The story took place right after the Irisu arc. Intention : to clear up the jumbled state of Oreki's mind. Due to the event that happened in the previous arc, Oreki had gotten even worse from his already boring state. To clear that up, this episode had
...
it's significance.
Since it's Hyouka, it had one small tiny mystery. You shouldn't even consider it one. But it had it anyway.
Thus the scores, it had it's significance, and they thought "why not throw in an OVA while we have the chance" and there you have it, Hyouka OVA.

First of all I must warn you, the cover for the anime is quite misleading. The synopsis too provides little to the fact that this is not your regular mystery with typical character.
The story depicts Oreki Houtarou, who is, in all considerations, lazy. After joining the classics club of his school upon his sisters request, he gets dragged into mysteries by the overly-enthusiastic memberof the club, Chitanda Eru, mostly against his will. The series consists of small stories, and some 3-5 episode long ones.
Story -
It's difficult to find a proper mystery story, especially one with non-supernatural/school theme. The reason should be obvious, such anime wouldn't
...
have a lot of scopes to be built on. Most of the times mystery stories go overly serious, having organizations or large scale crimes involved. However, in case of Hyouka, this was not the case at all. The stories were mostly small cases, actually it'd be better to call them puzzles than cases.
As said before, the stories are mostly small, even insignificant stories. The puzzles are nothing of importance, no one cares. But it was THAT what made it so impressive. They did not try to build some deep, complex mystery involving something big. If they did, well it'd be simply unnatural.
Art -
Nothing much to say in this case. Good, fitting, the occasional visualization of thought was a good addition to the art. That's all.
Sound -
Not much to in this case either. The opening and endings were good, I liked them. In case of BGMs, the did their work of depicting state of the story well. Once again, good, fitting, nothing to mention.
Character -
The story mainly portrays 4 characters. Oreki Houtarou, with his motto of "I don't do anything I don't have to. What I have to do, I do quickly.", who has a Sherlock Holmes in him despite the fact he doesn't really want to use his brain. Chitanda Eru, as par the synopsis "The Embodiment of Curiosity", who keeps nagging Oreki if something catches her attention. Fukube Satoshi, Oreki's friend, who has a rather vast knowledge of, well, trivia. and Ibara Mayaka, a strict girl, whose role, well I'm not quite sure if she plays some unique role, didn't seem so. Apart from them some other characters pop up occasionally, mostly for the sake of the story.
The characters are rather unique, and it's their diverse personality that makes up most of the story's fun. So i gave it a 9.
Enjoyment/Overall -
Simply stating - I Enjoyed It. The small puzzles were fun. Not challenging, but I wasn't looking for one. The characters kept things interesting.
Overall, if your looking for some serious dramatic action/mystery or horror/gore/mystery, Hyouka is not what you are looking for. It is, as far as I believe, a mystery inspired from Sherlock Holmes, and toned down to School setup. Despite being a mystery, it has a refreshing tone, instead of the serious heavy atmosphere of general mystery. Which is what impressed me the most.

"Golden Week."
"The golden glittering nine days that I will forever remember with lingering affection"
The light novel series of Monogatari has always been unique in the sense of narrating a deep and serious story in a rather light mood. Nekomonogatari, the 6th volume of the novel and 4th season of the animated series, in this case was no different. This 4 episodes describe the events that led to Araragi Koyomi's first encounter with the oddity that became a part of Hanekawa Tsubasa. If you have already seen Bakemonogatari, then you would be familiar with the event.
Monogatari series has always been a series with more non-story content
...
than actual story, and Nekomonogatari has well lived up to that reputation. The contents of the episodes were mainly talks, perverted in many cases, short action scenes, mostly Araragi get beaten up, and of course, fanservice. But in case of original story, there is not much to mention. A gist of it was shown in the last arc of Bakemonogatari, and it was merely an expansion. Still it retained its fast paced, somewhat unpredictable course of events, and twists. So even after knowing most of the story, it's worth a watch.
The art style of Nekomonogatari, like always, is unique with its dynamic change and detailed backgrounds. However, in case of Nekomonogatari, the art has been much more regular and steady. Although some may see it as a good point, I'd say it lost a charm.
The season depicts only 6 characters - Araragi, Oshino, Hanekawa, Karen, Tsukihi, Shinobu - who hasn't been named yet and a flash of Sejougahara. If you've seen the first seasons - which you should, before seeing this - there isn't much to tell about the characters. Being an anime mostly driven by it's characters, it has retained every aspect of the characters form the series.
Overall I've been a big fan of the Monogatari series from the start. I've enjoyed this new addition as much as the older ones. Seeing how even an already narrated story was made into it so finely, the hopefully upcoming seasons of the series should definitely be worth watching.

K Project or "K", has been the talk of the viewers since it was released. It was expected to achieve greatness, and in cases it did. However, it gathered it's own share of haters as well, mostly because of its incomplete and vague description of the story and setup. Personally I believe that K has described enough, it could have been much longer, however, it didn't HAVE to be any longer than now. This is going to be my first review, so bear with me.
Story - 7
The anime depicts the story of a student, Isana Yashiro, who was dragged into the battle of seven kings
...
with psychic abilities. Classic the story may be, the execution of that classic story was done quite well. The story, despite that was rather flawed. The explanations are quite lacking, the story occasionally got boring, and in the last episodes, too much story was crammed together. Even so it deseerves a 7.
Art - 9
The most impressive part about the anime is it's art. The backgrounds and characters are well drawn, except Yashiro, who had a disturbing length proportion. Even so it's art is one of it's strong points.
Sound - 8
The BGMs of this anime are very good. Character musics had their impact, which was quite crucial in this case actually. The OP and ED were decent, nothing particularly amazing. so 8 would do.
Characters - 6
The characters... well in this case K was lacking. Te characters were half-baked, not truly touching, and to be frank quite boring. Same old, same old, a carefree protagonist, a kind but violent king and a cold, calculative king.,funny female character, oblivious friends, uptight yet weird sidekick who appears to kill the protagonist and ends up helping him. They were fit for their role in the story, but regardless, a 6 would be enough.
Enjoyment - 8
I enjoyed the story. It was not something that would chain you with the chair, but it was good. However, it is notable that someone with no taste in serious genre should not bother watching K. Because it's not dark, but it's pretty serious all the time.
Overall - 7
I wouldn't consider K to be an anime highly praised. However, I don't suppose it's that bad either. It has it's own charms, despite of it's flaws.
Well, it's going to have a second season, so we can hope that the story would be expanded further.
