Bubblegum Crisis 2032-2033. Don't let the name fool you this series packs serious heat, despite its age. Maybe they call it Bubblegum Crisis, because three of the girls look like teenagers. Much of the focus in this series is on Priscilla (Priss) the brunette and her boyfriend from the AD Police. The focus towards the end and especially in Bubblegum Crash (the finale) shifts gradually towards Sylia Stingray the brains of the outfit (literally).
I thought the story was very enjoyable and complex. Do yourself a favor though and buy the Blu-ray version as you don't have to shuffle discs.
...
When a new Boomer arrives it's up to the Knight Sabers to stop them; Priss, Linna, Nene, and the mentor Sylia. The Knight Sabers suits remind me of Iron Man's suit as they fly, blast things, and are pretty durable. The Boomers are mechanized machines and Genom is bent on world domination. The AD Police try to help, but mostly get in the way. Who's that pink haired girl who works for them? Anyways, when the Knight Sabers get in trouble it's up to the AD Police force, I mean their backup to save the day. I liked the premise of the show, with heroines and the romance. Bubblegum Crash does a nice job of tying up loose ends.
The animation was decent, but passable. I would give Bubblegum Crisis (Crises) animation a 7.5/10 and Bubblegum Crash (Crashes) animation a 6.5/10. The titile menu for Bubblegum Crisis on Blu-ray is immaculate.
The sound was like a shining star and made a good anime series very good. The songs are mostly dubbed in English and actually play a new song during each of the eight episodes. You listen to the music as the animation flows with the music. It adds excitement to every episode, but Bubblegum Crash doesn't have this.
In conclusion, fans of older anime will love this one. It hits hard and ends with a crash!

Fate/stay night was very breathtaking and beautiful, but shows its age a bit. I saw Fate Zero first. I was very impressed with Fate/stay night but the fight scenes weren't as realistic as Fate Zero.
I beat up Studio Deen's Fate/stay night enough. This show I believe deserves a high 8 out of 10. It's a family friendly Fate series and is very good.
The story wasn't as complex as Fate Zero, but it ties up loose ends very well. It also does a good job at explaining the Holy Grail War. NO I haven't seen Unlimited Blade Works.
...
The characters were well introduced and developed. I love the Arthurian tie ins and other character's back stories.
The sound and art were above average and draw you in. I was actually impressed with the visuals, as it gets denigrated in comparison to UFOtable. Even my mother was impressed with the gorgeous ending scenes. The sound and voice acting was well done and sets the tone with chivalry and reflection.
In conclusion, It's greatly enjoyable and the ending might draw a tear or two. A commendable high fantasy show.

Hellsing Ultimate this anime is very brazen. I don't like pointless slaughter with vulgar language (this anime has a ton of it) and I even started it the week of Halloween. I thought the first episode was okay and does a decent job at sparking your interest. I tried I really tried with this anime. I didn't want to watch the fifth episode, but I did so I could make a more fair judgment on it. As it obviously is half the series that I watched.
This series reminds me somewhat of Highschool of the Dead without the obsessive fan service.
...
The violence is more graphic though and has explicit language. It has interesting moments and suspenseful moments, I found the chibi art comedy with Seras Victoria to be cute and funny. But overall I found this anime to be disturbing and boring.
I know this is the one of the highest rated Horror anime. If you want a slasher here you go and burn in Hellsing.

My review for Hyouka, which means ice cream or actually I scream. That isn't really a spoiler as it is revealed in the first few episodes. This was a very entertaining show. It's a part mystery, part slice of life, part school life show. The four main characters names are Houtarou, Satoshi, Chitanda, and Mayaka. I would rate this above Kanon (2006) another Kyoto Animation series, just because of the beautiful art. Both series are solid, but the art adds much depth to Hyouka.
The story has flaws. I was expecting them to continue at some point the story
...
about Eru Chitanda's uncle, but sadly they didn't. This could have a been a good overarching storyline idea, but instead they decided to build the characters relationships more. I thought it was strange that we never get to see what Houtarou Oreki's older sister looks like. She plays a decent part in the series, but we don't get to see her face. They play an Evangelion in this series as they go into Shinji's psychology in Evangelion, in Hyouka they develop the love relationship between Chitanda and Houtarou. Both series could have concluded a few episodes sooner, but I'm glad we get the extra character development, heart felt warmth, and hope for the character's future.
The Characters are well developed especially the four main characters. Chitanda is hyper-curious and a bit naive. Houtarou is a bit introverted and lazy, but a great critical thinker (detective). Satoshi and Mayaka are both outgoing, but have little critical thinking skills. They are all a part of the classic literature club at Kamiyama High School. The relationships between the four is adept and fun to watch.
The Art is what hooks you and adds much to the story. I think the aesthetics are somewhat similar in this and Violet Evergarden. I only saw the first episode of Violet, but both are KyoAni works and have similar vibes. You can tell they put a lot of effort into the visuals being commendable and striking. The sound and voice acting was well done, especially the opening song which is quite gripping.
In conclusion the Enjoyment for me was lessened because of the storyline, but the art made up for it. This story seemed almost like a true story, very realistic. Overall a Great series!

Kino's Journey: The Beautiful yet Ugly World. This is one of the best short anime series I've seen, another is Canaan which I actually enjoyed a little more (probably the art). The story and sound are just great and this is a haunting story which will stick with you and maybe want to watch again. There's many questions: Is Kino a guy or girl? Why does Hermes the motorcycle talk? Why is Kino a travelling vagrant in the first place? What's the point of coming along for the journey? Gratefully these questions are all answered. There's no
...
happy ending, but it's the journey that matters in the end, huh?
The story is what drives this series. You learn from flashbacks about Kino's past. Kino hops from one town to another and stays just for a brief few days. That is a big question why also, Kino states in the anime why, but there's actually more to it as you continue the journey and receive more answers. Maybe Kino's searching for a home? The main characters are Kino and Hermes, but the supporting characters keep growing. It is a little strange seeing Kino communicate with a motorbike, but it's entertaining.
The atmosphere is melancholic, but it's exciting as you watch Kino grow. I really enjoyed the music especially the OP song I believe. The music sets the mood and it's a fascinating journey. The art is somewhat basic made in 2003, but still decent and good. Although great art can add a lot to a story such as Canaan and ufotable's Fate series.
This should be a must watch for anime fans, you won't regret it!

What makes a classic anime? Let's find out. Mobile Suit Gundam Wing is pure gold.
The story is very gripping, but does drag a little and is not perfect. I was debating giving it a 9 out of 10 but the conclusion more than makes up for the sometimes seemingly unimportant battles. It is also a very complex story and you have to pay close attention to fully understand the narrative. I watched it on Toonami when I was younger, but couldn't fully understand or appreciate the anime, until now. The story is based on, War and Peace,
...
which was a novel by Leo Tolstoy a Russian novelist. No, I haven't seen the movie Endless Waltz, but the story is complete as is. The movie is about how the space colonies and the earth sphere alliance find lasting peace, after the war. The characters are brilliant and turn a great series into a classic. I really like the interpersonal relationships between the characters and how they work together in their own ways to solve problems. They're united in purpose and strategy, but have their own tactics. The dynamics of the characters are great as they counter balance each other for example: Treize and Zecxs, Heero and Relena.
The art was good and very good for a 90's cartoon. The sound was very good with two different opening and two ending songs. I thought the voice actors did an excellent job, especially for a 90's cartoon or anime series.
The enjoyment was understandably great or outstanding as all plot threads were sewn together to create a classic and beautiful tapestry. I was a little wary of the ending as I've seen many series that leave you hanging or a go read the manga ending. The ending left me well pleased and even in tears. It is a classic anime series for a reason and I'll definitely be watching, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Endless Waltz in the future.

Full Metal Alchemist, no it's not Brotherhood, but is still great in its own right. F.M.A. reminds me of another series that got the Brotherhood treatment, namely Hunter x Hunter (1999). The first 25 episodes of F.M.A. is more complete than the beginning of Brotherhood, because they selectively left out episodes from the canon. Hunter x Hunter (2011) did the same thing with the first couple arcs.
About the story: The story of F.M.A. is great and so is the characters, but both were expanded upon greatly in Brotherhood especially the characters. The second half and the ending to F.M.A. is mostly
...
non-canon. Is F.M.A. a complete story with a solid ending? Perhaps surprisingly, Yes. I watched F.M.A. before I watched Brotherhood and yes the movie, Conqueror of Shamballa concludes the non-canon ending. Is F.M.A. worth a watch? I would say yes again, it's shorter than Brotherhood and the beginning is especially satisfying.
There's not as many characters in the original and the story feels dumbed down a bit (considering you watch Brotherhood), but it is still very enjoyable.
The art and sound are also great with the comedic chibi art Edward Elric when he gets mad (hey there small fry). Brotherhood does take these two up a notch, especially the bedazzling music that is in Brotherhood. Also I believe only Brotherhood received a Blu-ray release, but I could be wrong.
In conclusion, FMA is a great series. FMA is like cake without the ice cream or vice versa. Brotherhood is the cake and the ice cream. FMA is worth a watch for completionists and those who want the whole FMA story. Watch FMA first and then Brotherhood not vice versa.

High School of the Dead was a mediocre anime series, but has a chance to be better. If you want a straight up slasher/horror flick this is your ticket to stardom. The beginning is memorable and keeps you glued to the screen, if you can handle excessive amounts of blood, fan service, and mayhem.
The story is weak as it stands and offers no resolution from Tokyo or elsewhere. The characters were decently scripted and voice acted. It's hard to believe these kids are high schoolers when they handle fire arms with such voracity. The plot: Get bit by a zombie
...
and turn into one, sounds kind of like a disease.
The art is the highlight of this series. It does a very good job of dragging you into this Zombie World. The art is realistic with voluptuous women, big explosions, and lots of blood. The sound is decent to good and drives the series forward.
In conclusion, despite a few good opening episodes there's no plot (except as stated above). This show has some potential, but I don't recommend it. It's not a series worth your time or your money.

Wild Arms: Twilight Venom. This anime series is based on a popular RPG series of games. No, I didn't play any Wild Arm Games. The atmosphere of the series is kind of wild wild west which is probably what it got its name from. Alliances change in this series and you wonder who can be trusted and the mystery of twilight venom.
The story was decent, but it didn't tie up loose ends real well. The story was kind of wild west meets fantasy. It was a good blend of action and romance with interesting characters.
The opening song
...
was very good, but I skipped the closing song as it was annoying to me. It's because the opening song was wild west esque and the closing was futuristic, which clashed with the amazing opening in my opinion.
Those 'r' big guns. It's worth a watch and there is some closure. Just don't expect a deep storyline or very good art for that matter. It's an anime that some people will enjoy more than others, for me it was just okay or average.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters this anime series got me into the card game, hooray! I really enjoyed this anime series and the card game is great as well. Some of the arcs were masterpiece level others were just okay. The majority of the episodes were very good or better. Yugi Muto's summoning his big hairy balls and Mai Valentine's got herpes. But seriously, Joey Wheeler's git game, then Kaiba makes a grand entrance. That's what's great about fast Joey Wheeler he doesn't quit and the power of friendship! Yujo means friendship in Japanese and it's no coincidence that the
...
two main characters are named Yugi and Joey.
The story is good, but its weakness perhaps is that it revolves solely around a card game. This was a smart move from a financial aspect, but it's still a card game right, right!! In Ancient Egypt there existed a force so powerful, it had to be locked away for a millennia. Now one boy has released that power! It's time to duel! Yu-Gi-Oh is an excellently constructed series and what really shines is the characters. There's an awful lot of characters and they are all well written, adding depth to the story. The story drags a little at the end as the main antagonists are Reshef: The Dark Being and Dark Master: Zorc these are Ritual monsters from the game, I believe Yami Bakura is controlling them, but who cares when it takes up so many episodes. The final duels are good and it brings some solace, but the episodes before these drag it down a bit, in my opinion.
All in all it was a fun series. A card game to decide the fate of the world? Interesting though and worth a watch, even if you never play the card game.
