The Chainsaw Man anime is a brilliant example of trusting the production process. The first episode could have been more noteworthy to account for excess hype, but not every first anime episode comes with a 'bang!'. With each installment, the viewer could see that this anime was a labor of love for the animation staff. The anime follows the manga loyally, injecting blood, sweat, and tears into the material to bring out some brilliant character acting, especially in some of the ordinary life scenes.

The real treat was the endings. There are over ten unique endings, each with its artistic flair. While admirable, some of me ... thought, "I wonder if they could have spent this effort elsewhere?" "This ending looks so good compared to [x] scene."

If you're looking for something entertaining, then Chainsaw Man is it. Honestly, the character types of the main characters (i.e., Denji, Power, Aki) are so refreshing compared to the archetypes we have been cursed with for decades. Overall, I feel "full." There's a tinge of disappointment caused by the hype, but I am entertained.

If you're looking for brutal action with a rag-tag group of young adults dealing with #life, then you're in the right place.
However, if you want something more cruel and nonsensical, check out Baki!

It's ages since I've left a review on anything, and I thought I'd read some of Fujimoto's other works.
I'll be reasonable with my review, as I'm working under the assumption the one-shot has page limitations and other guidelines.

• STORY: The premise is simple to understand, and the overall tone is neutral. With the lack of pages, the pacing feels odd in places. If I could describe how the story felt, it was like a sandwich missing some flavorful ingredients in-between.

• ART: There ... is nothing missing in the art department. The characters and backgrounds look good, however it could have been more expression (...though this issue is solved in works like "Fire Punch" and "Chainsaw Man."

• CHARACTER: The characters are all-right for the time they have to establish themselves. They aren't anything special. The way Nayuta (sister) speaks is annoying, and I feel Fujimoto could have chosen another confusing way to speak that wasn't random word vomit.

• ENJOYMENT: I can't say I enjoyed reading this very much. I can't complain either, because it was so short I don't feel like I've wasted any time.

The Street Fighter II movie was one of the most drawn-out films I have seen. "When will this be over," is a question I asked myself during many of the scenes. I'll elaborate.

Many of the issues I've had are directional/editorial. Particularly, any scene with Vega or Ryu would include dreadful silence and an impressive amount of camera pans. There were many quiet scenes followed by flashbacks of Ryu and Ken training together. Then, we'd be in New York, Los Angelos, or another location.This movie should have been appropriately named, "Street Fighter: Around the World." The variety ... of locations along with a lack of transition lead to some confusion, despite the plot being clear and characters voicing their motivations.

As for the animation, the characters are kept on-model, and there aren't any oddities I could spot. There was some love put into this, but the aforementioned issues really distracted from that (exception for the fight scenes).

As for the sound, it might just have been the player I was watching in... but I couldn't hear any music until the battle at the end where it was mixed really loud. Otherwise, it sounds like what I would imagine as "90's techno" or "90's music."

I'm not a Street Fighter fan, but I can admire how iconic the designs are! While Ryu and Ken were having their bromance, I really enjoyed the interaction between Guile and Chun-Li. I really wished the focus was more of them doing Interpol activities v. "Hey, here's Ryu walking around in another location."

There was a fight with Chun-Li that had me excited, but the rest of the film made me really bored. If the film runtime wasn't 1hr 41min, my enjoyment might have been higher. The Street Fighter II movie felt like a compilation of assorted events that should've been set to music, yet ironically it was a very slow and quiet film despite being based on a fighting game series.

The series is still currently "airing", although, I do not think another episode is coming out.

STORY
Swamp Stamp Anime Edition is a hentai about a girl exploring the mysteries of sex, and how she becomes obsessed with them. Of course, by the end of the first episode, she becomes a nymphomaniac.

ART
The art is mediocre. It looks good and the characters have good human proportions. The animation just isn't frame-by-frame, but it is rather a push-n'-pull using separately drawn parts and put together in a program similar to Live 2D or Adobe After Effects. Saving money is a great thing to do when making animation, but it ... was really noticeable.

SOUND
The sound is mediocre. I have to say for a hentai they didn't mess around with the music, there was even some jazz. Still, it wasn't very memorable.

CHARACTER
Okay, the characters are decent. I don't mind the main character, the girl. None of her other playthings is introduced expect the guy in the beginning who is obviously a douche.

I like the hentai because the art was cute and sultry at the same time.
I disliked the hentai for the pacing and lack of story. If they had told me "why" she was interested, I would be more compelled.

I didn't really enjoy the watch, but it is not the worse I have seen. (Gakuen Saimin is worse.)

I am reviewing Keijo as if it is meant to be satire and not taken entirely serious. I feel Keijo was meant to be a comedy with ecchi, but the ecchi not being too sexual and more comedic.

Story

The story is good. The story is not anything special. It’s simply about a girl trying to rise to the top and she goes to a Keijo training school in hopes of making her debut. In the training school, they go through many hurdles by the exercises and the elite class students. The terms for the special moves are rather funny. The training exercises they have to do ... early on in the series are questionable (illogical).

The characters elevate themselves to the East-West war, and you meet a new cast of characters from the rival training school. With the East-West war beginning, things get even more retarded (ex. a judo body slam with a nipple).

Characters

The characters have their archetypes, yet they are distinctly weird in their own way (ex. Aoba can analyze and copy an opponent’s moves by groping their butt.) The main characters aren’t too over powered, and it would be boring if they didn’t have to try. The production crew or the original manga artists could have made Nozomi, Miyata, Aoba and Non overpowered from the beginning, starting out in the elite class and being at the professional level standard already.

Sound

The opening theme isn’t very memorable or catchy. It does amp one up for the upcoming events of the episode (as I think any sports anime should). The ending theme is simply a chill down song, but it’s not as good at the opening in my own opinion. The music as they battle is usually symphonic in a way to fit with the battles, but it really depends. I don’t remember the tracks that well.

Art

The art of Keijo has a nice style to it. It has sharp crisp varying linework and nice cel shade and airbrush coloring as well. In the last couple of episodes during the East-West war, the art gets a bit “rough”. What do I mean “rough”? Well, you can clearly see that mid ground characters have uneven faces, no toes and almost no detail. I will assume the deadlines were getting tight, and I hope they fix the problems in the DVD release.

Enjoyment

I really enjoyed Keijo for the comedy value of the ecchi. It is very weird and I like weird. I feel some of the dialogue could have been more interesting (in certain conversations with certain characters). Otherwise, the logic from my brain has been drained and turned into a butt.

I recommend if you’re looking for something that makes sense, then you’re definitely in the wrong place. How did you even get here to this page? If you want an ecchi anime that the ecchi isn’t portrayed in an intensely sexual way, then this is for you.

I reviewing this anime assuming it is meaning to be emotional and have hints of shounen-ai.

● Story ●

Yuri On Ice has a simple plot line. Yuri, a male figure skater, is down on his luck and returns home. This is where the simple story line turns into it’s own unique adventure. Similar to many modern stories, Yuri goes viral with his routine in which his old friend’s children uploaded to a video site. He meets Viktor after her takes notice of Yuri’s perfected performance.

It’s similar to when people would go viral and get a contract, well that happened here as well.
Viktor ditches his own career ... to coach Yuri to Yuri’s surprise. With hard work and effort, he manages to get back on his feet.

Throughout the rest of the story, there are many ups and downs. Yuri goes through very emotional moments when the pressure of the competition begins to weigh on him and it is very humbling.

The story may make one feel nervous of the outcomes of the characters’ performance and leave you on the edge of your seat wishing them the best as they go out to the ice.

I personally got nervous whenever they were making a jump, but when the successfully did I cried out for joy. I was really rooting for them.

● Art ●

The art style is nice. The animation has nice line work and coloring, especially in the scenes of downtime (when they aren’t skating). The skating animation is very awkward, but it is very hard to animate the programs of consecutive 2-3 minutes scenes with animation deadlines of course. I assume they will fix some of the more awkward frames up before the DVD release.

● Sound ●

Yuri On Ice’s soundtrack is very good. The sounds vary from character to characters. Surprisingly, the majority of the sounds are in English. As you would expect in an international competition, all of the characters have different tastes in music and performances. The opening “History Maker” begins the triumphantly and really gets your heart racing for the beginning. The other tracks are rather spam-mable. Personally, I can’t get enough of “Shall We Skate?”, “Still Alive” and “Intoxicated”.

● Characters ●

The characters are different. I could not really define most of them into a single archetype.

The best thing about the characters is that they are not very over powered, and everything doesn’t go they’re way.

The author could have easily made Yuri land all of his jumps and step sequences, and even compete against Viktor to win gold at the Grand Prix Final. The same goes for every other character. The characters who have an even better game plan and land all of their jumps could suddenly be on a losing slope, and dark horses emerge.


● Enjoyment ●

I love Yuri on Ice. It was a lovely adventure to follow all of the characters as they chased their dreams, whether they succeeded or failed. It was also very lovely to follow the relationship(?) of Yuri and Viktor. It gives the anime a lot of shounen-ai vibes. I am personally a fan of the shounen-ai and yaoi genre (as well as yuri), so the scenes with them made my inner fangirl burst out. Even so, I will not let that affect my review.

If you don’t like a bit of shounen-ai, then you might be a bit uncomfortable when it is presented.
And if you don’t like sports anime, then how did you get here?

Hello, I am here to deliver a review for Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku. I just watched episode twelve tonight.

I am not that into "magical girl" anime, so I won't be very bias in my review.

メ Story: The story is very good. I am judging the story on it's plot twists and fear factor. The first three episode are delivered as the entire anime was meant to continue to be calm, but friendship is fickle in this one. There is a lot of intensely edgy backstories and death that make this anime even more edgy. It's sad at points if you get easily attached to characters ... like I do, otherwise you'll think it's a "over-the-top edge-fest".

メ Art: The art of the anime was very good in terms of movement and shading. The style in some frames could have awkward movement at some times. The art style is different. It's cute like you would expect a magical girl anime to be, but the direction and the fact many scenes take place at night make it "dark". Hell, "Nanbaka" has more sparkles than this!

メ Sound: The sound is very good. I always judge sound on how memorable it is. During the sad moments, there is this piano piece that plays and I can't forget it. The ending is good as well. It's like a cool-down song similar to Death Parade's ending theme. The opening is nice, but I wish they did alternate versions of the opening as more characters died or as the plot progressed (ex. Dangan Ronpa 3: Hope Arc).

メ Characters: I think the characters are good. I am glad the characters are not all in a similar age range. Most of the characters have an edgy backstory and diverse living standards. To be honest, their are still common character tropes for some characters (but they are hard to avoid).

メ Enjoyment: I enjoyed this anime. It's something I have never watched before (as I have avoided Madoka Magica). Snow White is a wimpy main character, and her uselessness can be annoying sometimes. Even so, if it weren't for that I am not sure if she would have "changed" at the end.

In summary, if you enjoy having your heart ripped out, blood/gore, no friendship power and dark stories...this is for you.

(If you are looking for a complex story, (more) killing games, gore, and some serious plot twists then this is for you. I recommend you read through a synopsis of the other parts of the series or you may be confused on some of the things they mention. You should watch Zetsobou-hen alongside it for some background info.)

I like Dangan Ronpa 3 because it wrapped everything up into a nice present.

If you have been really into the series, you will be satisfied to know a lot ... of things are covered especially regarding Chiaki and the Remnants of Despair. You also get to see Junko Enoshima behind the scenes as she works her plan to bring the world into despair!

STORY: The story is great. As I said, it wraps everything up and makes everything clear. If you watched it as it broadcasts, you hungered for new episodes as the cliffhangers were appropriately placed. Of course, a lot of people will be dying and a character you may not expect. A certain cliff hanger in episode 11 is unexpected, but it's never anything I was expecting.

ART: The art is very good. The art is not the best, but it's not the worse I have seen (ex. Asako Get You!). The shading is really nice. They have improved certain animation aspects such as gore (mostly in Zetsobou-hen).

SOUND: The sound is outstanding. I rate sound by how memorable it was. There are some reuse of songs from the game, but they are remastered(?). The opening to Zetsobou-hen is my favorite versus this OP, it's calm despite what would later happen..

CHARACTER: The character design is good. I don't really like many of the new characters, but they aren't bad or bland.

ENJOYMENT: I really, really, really, enjoyed this installment. It's sad to see it end (?) and I cannot wait for the finale. I am really hyped and you will be to even if you simply started watching right now.

(If you're looking for a show with quality graphics, an interesting fantasy aspect, a deep story, then this is for you. Please note, this review is more of my first impression since it just came out today.)

● Story: The story is great. It starts differently than most shows I have watched myself. Instead of starting of with the main characters sad sub-plot, they do some character development and put it later in the episode. I like all the magical being floating around and what not and it feels like a Studio Ghibi film.

● Art: The art is outstanding. The animation has style and you can ... tell they really put some money into this. The backgrounds are mesmerizing. It's been a while since I have seen something like it.

● Sound: The sound is outstanding! The music is beautiful and cinematic. There's no opening or ending visuals + sounds like other animes. Instead, it's spent giving the anime overall more screen time. Although, throughout you ears are delighted with music that really fits the settings completely.

● Character: The characters are very good. Although, since the anime starts off suddenly you have to figure out to everyone is. But that's not a bad thing. I don't see any prominent character tropes, thankfully.

● Enjoyment: My enjoyment of the anime was outstanding! It's beautiful, has nice characters, a sweet plot (so far) and I love it. I rarely have an anime impact me in a way. I can't wait for more!

(If you're looking for an interesting romance, comedy, slice-of-life and ecchi (that's not too outrageous) then "Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko" is what you're looking for. It also has a hint of harem.)

I liked Henneko because it had an interesting developing plot more so towards the second half of the series.

I liked Henneko because it had an interesting cast of characters even though it was this genre of anime (comedy).

I slightly disliked Henneko because the main character is/was incredibly dense most of the time. He becomes less dense further on, but it is a bit frustrating.

θ STORY: The story is very good. The story is ... centered on Tsukiko and previous memories that the main character does not remember. It's also centered around the "stony cat" you notice in the English title. The stony cats grants their wishes and it takes them in unexpected directions. The plot is semi-serious, so there isn't too much bullshit. It focuses a lot on Tsukiko's family, romance of the characters and Yokodera's memories. The anime doesn't have too much ecchi in it, but there are some body shots. It's not too dramatic, but more comedic(?).

θ ART: The art is very good. The animation style is very clean and I rather like the cel shading. It's really high quality. The dancing on the ending theme is a bit awkward to me; not the dance, the way it flows is awkward. Can you get what I am saying?

θ SOUND: The music is great. I usually rate it by how catchy it is or by how memorable it is to me. The music in the anime is very memorable to me. I'm in "baby sweet berry" love with it. It's nice. But what the heck is "baby sweet berry love"? Any ideas?

θ CHARACTER: The characters are good. They are memorable in personally, but the aren't too outstanding. For example, I don't usually see blonde tsunderes or black haired kuuderes (Tsukiko is on the outside). They are comedic in their own right and fun to watch on scene.

θ ENJOYMENT: The enjoyment was oustanding. I really liked watching Henneko. The plot twists in the story kept me wanting to watch it to see what was going to happen next, as it does get semi-deep.

I may be slightly bias because I particularly like this genre, but I like this better than some others I have watched.

θ OVERALL SCORE: 8!

I highly recommend watching it for yourself for a good "WTF" moment. Don't let your family catch you though...
