Hey, sorry about not replying to any of your recent messages. I spent most of last year playing Tales of Games and when I was online I kept on forgetting to reply... I've been doing okay but I'm bored because Uni hasn't started yet. How about you? :)
Shazzea Apr 24, 2016 6:53 PM
I've been pretty busy with Uni myself but I've been doing well. How about you?
For now, I'm not really looking forward to anything game-wise. I probably would be but I don't have a PS4/V. I'm really tempted to buy one but I feel like as soon as I do they'll come out with something new...
Shazzea Feb 18, 2016 5:36 PM
Sorry for the late reply.
Actually, it seems that they've updated the defualt list designs so it seens like it's a lot easier to customise the lists now. I probably won't be switching over to the new ones yet but they look a lot better imo
Shazzea Jan 18, 2016 6:23 PM
Lists: Here's a turtorial for editing them. You can also use a pre-made list if you're feeling lazy
I edited this one and changed the background/colours to suit my taste.

Manga: I usually use mangafox but it's really unreliable and they've made a lot of changes recently that make it almost unusable. I'd switch myself but I'm too lazy to set up an account on another site. Other than MangaFox there's: KissManga, Batoto and MangaHere. There's not much difference between them besides how the site is set-up so just try them all out and see which one you like the most. I probably prefer KissManga the most right now but, when a chapter has a lot of pages, it can cause my browser to crash.
As far as recs go... Maybe try reading the manga for one of your favorite anime? Usually the anime doesn't cover everything that's in the manga or they completely screw up some parts. Other than that, my personal favorite manga is "Pandora Hearts"~ I pretty much loved everything about it which is rare for me.

Nah, I try to stay away from social net-working sites. Don't really have much use for them, really.
Also, obligatory

Sorry for the lack of replies >_<

Been busy with some stuff

Ah, I'm planning to play Baldr Sky Dive soon. I've heard a ton of good stuff about it and the gameply looks like a lot of fun

Hopefully it gets localized at some point. The only reason it hasn't yet is because it fucking long and nobody wants to translate something that big (it's split into two games with both games being over 50 hours)
Shazzea Nov 7, 2015 6:33 AM
Yeah, I've mostly been trying to learn how how to read Japanese recently. Got sick of waiting around and hoping for things to get translated so I decided to learn. It's a pain in the ass but it's still better than nothing. Also been working on my PS skills and I feel like I'm improving. Recently made this set for the forums:

Ugh, the temptation to buy a PSV or a PS4 is real but... *looks at wallet* *cries*

Tales of Zestiria was announced for an anime adaptation to air some time in 2016 btw

Should hopefully be pretty good. The studio that's producing it is well known for putting a lot of money into their anime.

Haha, I tried to get into collecting the Pokemon cards a few years back but I never got into it. Congrats on your rare finds~
I've been mainly working on my Photoshop skills these days~ I've just been finding making graphics to be fun

Introduction:
Hello there, friend!
We at the Australian & New Zealand Anime Club are proud to present... Our very first newsletter!

This community was founded on the 28th of January - 2015, and since that time we've come a very long way.
You are only reading this because YOU made it possible by being a very important piece of what makes this club what it is.

That said, we are happy to announce that we're coming close to reaching the 1,000 Member Milestone!
It's a wonderful thing to know that there are so many fellow Aussies and Kiwis who love Anime and we hope that we only continue to grow from here on out.

About the newsletter:
So you might ask, what's this newsletter all about?
Well, great question. We've scratched our heads a few times and figured that this newsletter will be dedicated to letting you know that we're active!

Despite the substantial growth of our club, there is still a handful of you that we still haven't had the pleasure of getting to know.
We want you to understand that this is a safe and fun club, but if you're shy then we're not going to force you to participate, this is simply to remind you that there is a place for everyone at this club, so if you ever warm up - come and say hi!

Here's what's happening right now:
We have a wide selection of club activities that you can participate in, from anime discussion to club games or casual conversation.
Anyone in the club is free to make up whatever thread they feel would interest people!

What we hopefully have planned for the future:
GFX Competitions, Giveaways, Club Member of the Month, Gaming Groups and more!

So, other than that, there isn't much to say this time around but hopefully the next time we have to do this, there is much more to look forward to.
We again are thankful to have you, and hope that you come and have some fun with us sometime soon.

- Yours truly,
The Australian & New Zealand Anime Club.

Well, of course, there're always exceptions like Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere which has incredibly long parts where characters just talk about politics, the world the series is set in and such but I still find it interesting

Manga is much cheaper in Japanese than it is English though. Usually there's at least a $20 difference not taking shipping into account but, even if you did, it'd still probably be cheaper to import it.
Shazzea Jul 25, 2015 12:42 AM
Haha, I just don't like slow-paced shows ^^; I need to have something constantly happening to keep my interest. Ygritte was the reason I kept watching until now but after season 4... Yeah, it'll be a while before I get motivation to continue again though I will most likely do so eventually

Haha, the Zelda manga sold incredibly well in America which is probably why it's so expensive here. I think it was on the NY Times Manga Weekly Best Seller List for almost 2 months? I only that because MAL posts that list every week on the news board so I often check it out to see what's selling well in the West :P

Congrats for you then :)

Haha, I'll probably marathon Game of Thrones Season 5 once it's finished airing~ I tried reading the book but couldn't really get into it.

Once Upon a Time... Well, I like fairy tale re-tellings and the like especially when they're dark but I feel like there's a huge waste of potential sometimes when I'm watching it and it really isn't for people who don't particularly care for fairy tales ^^

Yeah, there are some true gems in the anime/manga world. Even if a series takes on an overused plot or setting, they can still do something to make the series unique. The same can be said for any medium, really. You'll always have your gems, you'll always have your trash no matter what medium it is. Especially since it's all based off personal enjoyment and tast.

Haha, I don't usually get into Western TV shows ^^ I'm not too fond of listening to American accents and most Australian TV shows are pretty bad, in my experience. I used to watch Game of Thrones but then my favorite character
died so I don't really have much motivation to watch the new season. I watch Once Upon a Time but that's more of a guilty pleasure than anything else honestly. I just don't think the TV show medium is for me.

Hmm... I think I started reading LNs back when the first arc of SAO had finished airing? I loved that first arc and was so eager to find out what happened next so I started reading it. Of course then I ran into Fairy Dance arc which is still the worst thing I have ever read but I continued on until like Volume 10 when I got sick of just how much I loved some arcs and just how much I detested others and gave up.Still can't say it was a horrible first LN though but it did put me off LNs until the start of last year when I started reading seriously and got really into them. Thing is... most LN to anime adaptations are crap these days and either only cover the first 3 volumes of the story (which in some cases are considered the "prolouge" of the story) or rush it like hell and turn it into something unrecognisable. So I started reading LNs to get the full story and to get the "true" story. Of course, most of the time, I'll love the story much more than the art, just like I would in a Western novel but, if it's a series I strongly dislike, I'd be more inclined to say the art is better than the story.
With VNs, I don't know, I just found an ad to an online dating sim for girls one day, started playing, got hooked, started looking for similar stuff and was introduced to VNs. I don't play the aforementioned dating sim at all anymore 'cause it started to piss me off and I don't even remember it's name XD Pretty much the same thing with LNs with regard to story or art but art matters more with VNs since you're looking at it all the time while playing it as opposed to LNs where you're only seeing them ever so often as you read. Still doesn't really matter since I've finished a VN with this kinda art and it's still one of my absolute favorite series XD

Uh... Utawarerumono for story, Kamidori Alchemy Meister for game-play. Tales of Xillia for stuff that is actually officially released in the West.
Shazzea Jul 12, 2015 1:46 AM
Yeah, well, it has RPG elements and I know that one of the games produced by the same company got liscensed so I can hope >_<

Haha, I'm starting to slowly improve myself but I've still got a ways to go
