About Pastachan
Pastachan here. Welcome to my profile page.

You may know me on a few other forums: I go by Aromatic Grass on Anime News Network, though I am the same Pastachan that you will find on Anime on DVD. I haven’t been participating much as of late due to school, work, and my own laziness, which I’ll admit I’m not exactly proud of (my lack of participation, that is).

This August, I will be starting my third year as a student at NC State University in Raleigh. My major is graphic design. Currently I am taking a summer class (American History I, or Early American History) at AB-Tech in Asheville and working at the Biltmore Estate in the retail department.

Feel free to ask any questions. I’m actually a nice person, or so I’m told (and would like to think).

Friends with the highest compatibility:
Anime: bystrouska (Amazingly High 96.3%)
Manga: ANN–abunai (Very High 82.7%)
...idea borrowed from Westlo.

I’ve just written a Texhnolyze’s review. Maybe I got a little overexcited and wrote too much. However, you can see this enormousness as my tribute to this awesome series, so I’d appreciate if you could take a look at it. Thanks.

Hey Pasta-chan!

Thank you so much for the birthday message, that was sweet! :))) I'm sorry it's taken me such a long time, once again, to get back to you - academic year is slowly coming to a close, so I've been a bit (ahem, make that totally) swamped lately, and my frequentation of MAL has been more erratic than ever… and it's likely to stay this way for the next couple of months, as I will be working a training job at a publishing house. (I try and keep my spirits up by thinking this is my final year of full-time studying, so I shall soon be liberated. Or at least a tiny bit less overbooked :p )

Also, thank you for bringing Eden of the East to my attention! The idea of Kamiyama directing yet another series for Production I.G with chara design by Chika Umino was enough to get me really excited about the whole thing… and the first episode didn't disappoint, right from the unusual OP (what? Oasis?!) to the lovely papercut ED. The Bourne reference cracked me up… and I just love how Akira totally looks like Morita-senpai - feels like we're finally follow him overseas on one of his shady missions! XD

What did you make of the first episode of Shangri-La? I must say they kinda lost me with all the tech-and-eco-talk, but it looks pretty (dear, dear Range Murata, you've gone and done it again), wacky (two words: Momoko, Ryouko) and kickass (never thought a damn boomerang could be so damn cool!) enough to have me begging for more. Plus, Mikuni has to be the cutest weird-eerie-pale little kid since, what, Alvis? :p

Speaking of Alvis - I don't think I ever told you, but in the winter I worked at Japan Expo's baby-sister-con, Chibi JE, and guess what? I got a sweet deal on the Alvis figurine my Grand Stream set was missing, plus a complete PSE 3.0 set! ^_^/ Maybe if I'm lucky next time I'll get a Claus.

I totally agree with you on Kiichi!! - which is fortunate, since I recently took up translating it for Kotonoha (hence my question regarding your reading habits…). Actually it's been a while since I haven't sent a new batch of chapters to the team, better get cracking! I haven't checked out The World Is Mine yet, but it sure looks intriguing as well.

Gotta go and get some sleep now… but I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts regarding the series you've been checking out! Hope everything's well with you and your studies, too. :)

Hey Pastachan! I'm just about to finish my first watch of Last Exile and I thought I'd let you know I have enjoyed it and wonder why I put off watching it for so long. Its as good as everyone says it is.

ErugoCogito | 03-21-09, 5:29 PM
Nice!

Now I'll have 3 series to view on a regular basis. :P

ErugoCogito | 03-21-09, 5:07 PM
No, that's completely fine. I know how hectic college work can get; and on top of this it's unrealistic to expect someone to respond right away on the internet anyways. ;)

Eden of the East? Do you know where I could possibly find it? I've been needing to get into something more 'mind-thrillerish' now that I've only been watching Shippuden for the past several months. vov

Kisho_Himura | 03-11-09, 3:48 PM
Hiya pastachan, how have you been? its been a while

Thanks for friend request :) And for joining Texhnolyze Club ^^

Ah... Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service. Are you enjoying it? I kept thinking that "kurosagi" was a play on the Japanese word "sagi" which, depending on the kanji used to write it, can mean "swindle". In this case they use the kanji for "heron".
