I hope you still read your forum topics, i recommended (at leats my favourite) slice of life anime there too (Beck). :) And as i read you play guitar a bit i think it might be quite promising to watch.. i hope. Because after that i just wished i could play guitar better.. First episode might be a little not to liking because of some violence and maybe artstyle is different, but believe me, once you happen to get past it it's amazing and really realistic ^.^
But i hope i didnt get your hopes too up, just go and see if you even would like it.. and if you did, let me know.. one day :D
anyways i hope you have fun time in MAL.
I recommend that you fill in your anime-list as soon as possible so that other people can give more anime for your slice-of-life quest. :P
I don't mind looking up some other (slice-of-life) anime you might enjoy when you have filled in your list.
