This is the first anime I started following from its release to its finale, and having said that I can say this, I liked sword art online. Considering its flaws and a few oversites, it remained original and in a sense not overly ambitious.

Personally, the main flaw was the speed in which the story line developed, much too rushed, this lead to powerful emotions and important events crunched in 20 something minutes, sometimes and hour depending on the story arc. The story itself is good, the idea of it being somewhat "Matrix" like, in the way of being plugged into a computer with ... the threat of death to your physical body is neat.

Regardless of the archetypal character structure there was some uniqueness and memorable quality about some of the main characters. I would liked to have seen some of the characters from season 1 in season 2; this could also be due to hastiness.

Overall, sword art online was a good 20 something minutes spent during the week, although it's just bordering on the average scale it still was quite enjoyable.

I enjoyed Katanagatari, however the only thing that stood out for me was the art style. All the other ways to rate this anime fall into the "good" and "fair" category. What stopped me from rating this anime any better was the ending, I was absolutely shocked and disappointed in the direction it took, from the end of episode 11 and all of 12. For the rest of it episodes 1-10 was good. Character development was only good for the 2 main characters, the rest of them it didn't do as well. Plot wise it was good, episodes taken individually is much better than the ... whole. All in all it's a good anime, with a massively disappointing ending but makes up for it in it's unique artwork.

Ergo Proxy is a great show!

The characters are well done however could have been developed more throughout the series. More about Pino would've been welcomed. Also, for the main characters and their symbolism, there seemed to be a lot of holes in their individual arches, which when some of it was explained came much later in the series, too late in my opinion.

The framework of the story is fun and interesting, especially the offbeat episodes that take you away from the bleakness of the main story. There are holes in the overall message and much left over for the viewer to fill in. This ... series has a lot of symbolism involved.

Overall, it's a series worth watching but has it's flaws, some individual episodes leave you with a lot to fill in, but watched as is and without being too critical it's well worth the time.

Mushishi is a very unique anime. The episodes can be watched independent of one another, however there is a main story line throughout the series but isn't so heavy that you need to see them in one after another. I would recommend watching the series through and through first off, but after that you are much more free to just pick an episode and relax.

Relaxing is one this this series portrays to me, personally, the theme song is on a a few music playlists of mine, the show doesn't portray gore or violence (at least on the terms of standard anime), the messages ... and symbolism of each episode is unique and non-extremist.

The English dub is above average, the main characters voice actor is someone many people are very familiar with and fits the role perfectly.The animation quality is amazing, it gives off a feeling of somberness (which fits it very nicely).

Watch this anime to take a break from all the others, you won't regret it. It's a very hope inspiring anime at that.

This was the first anime series I've ever watch, it was on netflix streaming and I had nothing to lose. My only other experiences with anime before was seeing Vampire Hunter D like 14 yrs before of which I barely remembered anything about it.

Anyways, I loved Claymore! The main characters are great, Clare is a great example of a strong feminine type and doesn't use sex as tool. Raki is also a great character who meshes perfectly with Clare's stone faced obliqueness. He brings a lighter and warmhearted side to the show. Personally, the strong quiet main female role that Clare portrays is my favorite ... aspect of this series. The story is interesting and not overly complicated. The supporting characters are unique and bring their own flare whenever they show up.

I had one gripe about the show that I no longer hold but since it was my first anime series I was a little bewildered by the amount of gore, but like I said I no longer hold this as a negative or a positive and instead holding it as it is.

One more thing, I wish the series would've kept going and as a warning... If you enjoyed this series be prepared to get cut off at the end of it somewhat. It closes the main story line at the end of the series but it's left of lingering as if they were hoping to continue it, but that must be continued by the manga, of which I never looked into.
