PLOT
Ever had one of those overbearing friends?
The kind that want you to look like them and have all the same interests as them. The kinds of friends who want you to practically be them!

venture out from the safe haven of her friends grasp and find who she is - You go girl! I started reading this series with heavy optimism.
That's where this ends. The story begins to focus on the backlash of this and the heroines inner strife with dealing with her friends opinions, bullying and is it worth it to try be herself. The majority of the story from here on out is a viscous cycle of the heroine being bullied by someone and her complaining for a few chapters before she decided to take some kind of action all for it to start again.
It dragged on, it made it lack luster and it got to a point where I've now had to drop this because I literally cant stand to read any further.
CHARACTER
Again I started the first chapter being optimistic - I was fully behind this heroine. I couldn't wait to see her journey of self identity and stepping out from the shadows of a friend. Nana (our MC) tries to do this but she self doubts and is practically useless like most shoujo heroine's. The character development is painful to watch.
Our antagonist is Yuyu - Nana's sometimes-ex best friend (more like frienemy). In any series I've ever read she is the MOST annoying character I have ever met. She's insufferable and has no redeeming qualities. She is cunning and will try anything to bring Nana back and put her on a leash. Yuyu is the reason I dropped this. She was so infuriating I couldnt bear it anymore. Kudo's to the mangaka though for making a character that could invoke such a strong hate.
ART
Possibly the only redeeming quality - it was lovely. Nice and crisp and just what you'd expect from a shoujo manga.
CONCLUSION.
This is a series that originally had serious potential. However after chapter 1, it all went downhill. The plot makes roll my eyes and grit my teeth and the characters make me want to bang my head against the wall.
Do I recommend this series?
NOPE.
Don't let that discourage you, my opinions are my own. Give it ago - you may like it.

Remember reading books and watching television shows (anime and manga included) and you find yourself saying 'C'mon, do something!' because the story moves at such an excruciatingly slow pace?
That is Hibi Chou Chou for you in a nutshell.
Synopsis
Upon entering high school, the very quiet but extremely cute Suiren becomes the immediate center of attention among the boys, nicknamed the'Takane no Hana' ... but one particular boy does not look her way. The story of a quiet girl and a quiet boy.
STORY 5/10

as slow, so very very painfully slow. I did find the story quiet enjoyable. The pacing was what has let this story down though, It takes the main characters around 15 or so chapters to realize they like one another another 10 to have a date. But if you can over look this you may enjoy this story.
ART 9/10
Simply put, the art was beautiful, nice clean details. The characters were all beautifully drawn.
CHARACTERS 4/10
Even more then the pacing of the story, the characters are probably the low point of the story. Suiren, the protagonist is a beautiful young lady, who doesn't talk to anyone apart from her best friend really. All the boys in school are attracted to her, apart from one boy. Initially, Suiren was so very cute and I enjoyed her as a MC but it comes to a point where being practically mute becomes an annoyance with her inability to relay her feeling to people, it becomes exasperating to watch her struggle. The character development for the MC is hardly present and painfully slow to watch and it isn't long before the trope of her quiet, cute-demeanor starts to wear off.
Kawasumi, the male lead is not much better. He seems to wrapped up in his sports to properly form a connection with Suiren and also comes off as a bit 'cold' or 'indifferent'.
OVERALL 5/10
While being a cute story, I feel that this was dragged out for to long and did not need 75+ chapters to tell it's story. Starting off as an endearing story, the characters and pacing of the plot quickly become this stories downfall.
I wanted to really enjoy this story but I feel it falling short. So I have decided to give this story a 5/10

Story 9/10
Being perfectly honest, tragedy is a genre I try to steer clear from. Because of this I put off reading Orange of the longest time. When I finally caved in and read this series I was pleasantly surprised. Takano Ichigo presents what on the surface level may look like a typical love triangle shoujo manga but underneath that is so much more depth and plot. The story gives us a fresh plot that I have not really seen done before. It was executed brilliantly, the story is both heart aching and warming at once, some scenes are bitter sweet and others make you want to cry. The story is definitely a roller coaster of emotions but in the best way possible.
Art 10/10
I gave the art work 10/10 in this series as it is some of the best artwork I've seen in a while. It is nice, clean and beautiful drawn. It has become some of my favorite art in a series.
Characters 8/10
Orange presents a series that is full of characters that are entertaining and enjoyable. The main protagonist of this series is Naho, a timid and shy girl. After receiving the letter from her future self - Naho finds her biggest challenge is overcoming this shyness and trying to be more outgoing in order to save a friend. As the series progresses you see Naho fight her inner demons and mature, she was an enjoyable character to watch. Kakeru is the second protagonist of the series. Kakeru was a character that (well, for me) moved the audience the most. His character was relatable . His battle with his own demons was also realistic. His condition was not cured overnight nor by spending time with a single girl like a typical shoujo, the story leaves you aware that Kakeru is going to struggle with his condition in the future but he has hope. Suwa is the final main character and is just as likable as the other two, Suwa comes off to the audience as generally nice person, further proven by his ability to sacrifice his own happiness in order to save a friend.
The characters of Orange set out as the driving force for what this series aims to do! Make you have all the feels! You feel what the main characters are feeling. Personally, that is one of the driving factors that makes a good story.
Overall 10/10
I have given this series a 10/10. It is a beautiful shoujo manga that is well written and will leave you with an impression that is sure to follow you after you read the last page. I strongly recommend this series.

Synopsis: Anoko no, Toriko has a simple plot of three childhood friends Shizuku, Yori and Subaru who at a young age made a pact to all enter the entertainment business together. Yori, the main protagonist of the series leaves not feeling confident in himself only to return a few years later to fulfill his promise to his childhood friends and become the type of guy worthy of Shizuku. But it seems he may have some competition for Shizuku's affection.

Anoko No, Toriko doesn't bring anything new to the table, everything it presents has been done before but none the less an enjoyable story is given.

Simply put, the art work is nice and clean and is really beautiful. One of the selling points of the manga
Characters 6/10
This might be the lower point of this manga. Some of the characters are refreshing....others not so much. The main protagonist is Yori, a 'plain' looking boy who returns to fulfill a promise to his childhood friends of joining the entertainment business together and win the heart of Shizuku, Yori presents himself as a typical character of the shoujo genre but gives the readers a refreshing perspective by presenting the story from his perspective. The two other main characters dont really present anything new but are likable none the less.
OVERALL - 8/10
Overall, I give this series a 8/10. Personally because I'm a sucker for shoujo manga and this series presents all the elements to make it an enjoyable one.
If you like series about childhood friends, idols and love triangles then Anoko No Toriko presents a series that you, yourself may enjoy.
