I've been on a Metal Gear Solid marathon for the past few months (in a sort of early preparation for MGS5), playing all the games canon to the storyline on their hardest difficulties. Up to the final game now.

The Red Wedding was deliciously morbid. They kind of fucked up with Arya's portrayal, though. I was hoping for an axe or whatever to fly at her face and then cut the scene to black or to the final scene. But that's my only minor complaint.

They might as well have Mari and Asuka fucking (and we all know who will be the dominant one in bed). Heh, maybe the guys that wrote Re-Take will have something new to offer after the fourth movie is released:

While on the topic of sex, more naked Dany! Don't think we've seen her nude since the first season. Though I personally prefer the actress playing Robb's wife, Oona Chaplin. Dat ass

So now that I re-watched 3.0 in good quality, I now have a better opinion... what the fuck? I thought The End of Evangelion was confusing when I first saw it, holy shit no. This is just... like... what do I take out of it other than pretty, up-scaled visuals full of "cool" scenery and moments? It borderline doesn't make any sense, even for Evangelion. And I think I have a good reason as to why that is: it's too bloody short to try and explain everything (a problem that the original series, but with good reason!). It's trying to cram in everything at once (religious symbolism, fancy terms, character motives, etc. etc.), trying to look impressive... and just kind of feels shallow and rushed. I always knew deep down that four movies for this re-telling didn't seem like it was enough to grasp or even match the original series. Maybe the fourth movie will try and fix that, maybe... Just... what the fuck, Anno?

*sigh* MAYBE it needs a few more viewing to have it fully synch in with me, but I can't help but feel this movie was aimless, trying new things that harms the logic and integrity of the story, flashing pretty colors at me. 2.0 did that as well, but at least it was mostly coherent, and the new things it threw at you felt exciting. The fourth movie has to be REALLY FUCKING GOOD for me to even consider it as good as the original story.

So, what are your thoughts on it.

I totally dig the Joff/Margaery development. It makes Margaery look like a master at manipulating people for power. The Theon stuff is kind of weak-sauce so far. I'm not sure if that guy who tricked him is supposed to be Reek/Ramsay Bolton, or just one of his minions. I guess they had to do something with actor, though. Otherwise the people that haven't read the books would probably forget who he was.

The death Mormont and Craster was well done, too. I remember being so annoyed when I read that part.

I'm just wondering if they are still going to pile up on more fan service. The comedic thing with Podrick having a massive penis and showing off three prostitutes was rather unnecessary, imo. Even more so than the past sex scenes they included.
