Alright, so it's a pretty basic exercise.

Starting on the low E-string (by "low", I mean the lowest sounding pitch... so the string on top... kek), place your index finger (or '1' finger) on the first fret, middle (2) finger on the second fret, ring (3) on third and pinky on the fourth. Pluck each note as you do this. Then on the A-string, repeat the same pattern, making sure to pluck each note: index finger on first fret, middle on second, etc. Keep performing this on every string until you reach high E-string and completing your run.

That's the basic set up of the exercise. From here, you're left with a wide variety of options to spice up the exercise, but I'll provide two for now.

NEXT, after you finish your first run, do everything in REVERSE. Starting on the high E-string, pluck the note on the fourth fret with your pinky finger, then ring finger on the third fret, middle finger on the second fret and index on the first fret. Do this pattern until you reach the low E-string to complete your run.

Does this on your own until you've become accustomed to the pattern. Once you have it down, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you use a metronome to perform this as many times as possible (roughly do it for like 5-8 minutes). It's important to use a metronome so you begin developing an internal clock within yourself, which will minimize sloppy playing later on in life. Do not play it fast at first. Slow and steady and all that.

http://www.metronomeonline.com/ Start at 92 beats per minute (BPM). If it's a bit too fast for you, lower the BPM to a pulse that you're more comfortable with and stick to it until you're confident to raise the BPM.

This is NOT a musical exercise, nor is it relatively fun. It's purpose is to build finger strength, comfortability with the neck, finger independence, muscle memory, and with a metronome: GOOD RHYTHM. It's purely mechanical, like working out, and does demand some patience. I personally would recommend that every time you pick up the guitar (after doing some arm/hand stretches or shaking your hands to relax yourself; useful if you don't want carpal tunnel or tendonitis at a later age), perform this finger exercise (again, for 5-8 minutes, however long it takes you) before doing anything remotely musical in nature. You'll be glad later on that you did, trust me.

Like I said, there are a multitude of different finger exercises that you can perform, but stick to this for the time being, along with learning your chords, and then I'll show you more variations.

So yeah: tuners.

A solid brand would be Korg. Their models usually comes with multiple features, like setting it up to different guitar tunings, pitch correction, shit like that. They to range around $80 or less as far as their current models go.

BUT, I have something that's a little snazzier for you. http://www.amazon.com/Intellitouch-PT10-Mini-Clip-On-Tuner/dp/B002KDHBRU

It's rather simple. You just clip it on to the head of the guitar and it will pick up on the vibration of the note to get it to the right tuning. My dad has this one brand and it has not given him any problems.

But one will be in sexy HD.

Ready for your girl boner?

I really don't know what to do...
Rokubungi Sep 2, 2014 8:13 PM
Yeah, same goes for me. Although I've been getting better and better anticipating people's actions and such. I just played the new levels. They're pretty big, especially The Beach.

Awesome. You pay less than me ($800). So when can I come over so we can binge on an unhealthy dose of anime? :3

Monolith Soft is a first party developer for Nintendo, so even though he doesn't seem like one to you, he is an official Nintendo character now. Also, this guy gets it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrFpli0H36Q
topkek

Hell yeah we're playing together. This and Monster Hunter. Btw, you heard about the new 3DS, right? Xenoblade Chronicles is going to be on it (although I wish they would have remastered for the Wii U, but I understand financial reasons).

Thanks. He's doing much better. He can walk without any assistance now.

I don't know what to think about 4.0 after seeing 3.0. I have to keep expectations low now.

Lakeside is my personal favorite. I just love using my sniper rifle in that level. It seems like the perfect level to use it.

That's awesome! Are you by yourself or do you have a roommate? Hopefully rent isn't too expensive. Good for you in any case.

Well, my dad had hip-replacement surgery last week. Now he's in physical therapy, so I've been sort of watching things over while he's away.

I have a gig coming up this Saturday and then at the end of the month. The band has just been busy writing for our album. But of a pain because we have very little time to get together due to work and other obligations, but we're trying to make it work somehow. Hopefully we can pull it off.

TUMBLING DOWN, TUMBLING DOWN, TUMBLING DOWN... = (

Implying the default maps are shit lol.

How have you been?

Rokubungi Aug 23, 2014 5:41 AM
I don't know why they won't. I want to hear and see Asuka and Shinji scream in BR glory.

They're coming out with new The Last Of Us multiplayer maps, and they'll be free, apparently.

Saw KnK 8, btw. It was good. Definitely the easiest movie to follow. I didn't need to go to wiki to get a summary of the whole thing lol.

Oh yeah, Ghost in the Shell is getting a true Blu-ray release, not that 2.0 crap. Only a matter of time before I get End of Evangelion on Blu-ray. For fucks sake, Anno/Gainax, do it already.

So it turns you on is what you're trying to say... Ok, I take that back. =X

Kawaii breakdowns are brutal, but Babymetal still did it better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVdBBOpSoN4

The girl at 3:37 is going to get me arrested, Thea, wtf. Is she of legal age?

Looks kind of neat. I love Sword of the Stranger and I know you enjoyed Canaan. We should help our anime overlords.

You fucked up, Thea.
