If you get some free time, you need to watch Tokyo Magnitude 8.0. Best show this season by a good distance, with a very powerful, emotional ending. I think you'd like it a lot.
Actually, you should watch it if you're busy, too, because I think it's a series that benefits more from its episodes being spaced out rather than marathoned.

About the origins behind Chise ... I think they delve into that with the Saikano OVA, but someone whose opinion I trust told me it isn't really worth the time, so I haven't seen it.
Shuuji is frustrating at times, yeah. You just want to smack him upside the head sometimes. That's part of why Saikano isn't a 10 for me -- it took me a while to get into Chise and Shuuji's relationship (and you HAVE to be into that to get any enjoyment from Saikano), and the light bulb turned on for me more from Chise's end than Shuuji's. (The big moment for me is in, I think, ep4 when Chise begs Tetsu to shoot her but then relents at the last second. That hurts.)

I feel so sad that Toradora! has ended. It was wonderful keeping up with it each week. (Did it EVER have a bad episode? Wow.)

God. I think I cried every second during Clannad ~After Story~ ep22. The entire middle is one long, deliriously happy moment. I can't even wait until I "finish" the series to give it a 10.

The final couple of minutes are so intense. I was impressed with how easily and smoothly Toradora! is able to turn into that type of mood.

Oh my gosh, Ushio and Fuko are the cutest couple of kids ever. They should have their own spinoff where Tomoya raises them while Kouko and Yoshino vacation around the world. Make it happen, KyoAni!!

Haha, yes, I did. I thought about watching them but then decided I couldn't handle watching anything as beautiful as Makoto Shinkai's works on friggin' Crunchyroll. xD

Really good episode, though. It might set off a rash of complaints that the show is getting "predictable" in the end, but frankly, I don't care. Why get angry about a pairing that has been set up from the beginning when the journey to get there has been so fantastic?

It's amazing how much of a turnaround the show made regarding Tomoya's dad. Before you believe he's just a loser who beat Tomoya and got involved with some bad business ... and in the course of a couple of episodes, he is suddenly amazing and almost totally redeemed, and it isn't even forced. Wow.
Also, OMG USHIO + FUUKO = CUTENESS TO THE MAX!!!!!!!!!!! I want to hug them both. :(

Oh jeez. I teared up SO HARD when Ushio said she was sad because she lost the first thing her dad bought for her, and then again when Tomoya cried from his memories of Nagisa. HOW CAN YOU BE SO GOOD, CLANNAD?? HOW?????
ALSO, I GOT SPOILED FOR THINGS REGARDING USHIO, AND I AM MAD
