About Maat
Maat was an Ancient Egypt goddess that personified justice and truth. Although that concepts have been distorted and subjugated to the will of few, some part of me still believes them.
I study History at college and the things that would make me look cooler if I said are that I practice fencing (but I'm a begginer and suck at it) and like to draw (but I don't really practice and was unnable to create an original style). So, as I supose that doesn't count, I'm gonna say that I'm good at math and that I used to win arm wrestling competition against all boys on my class when I was 13 (even being skinny).

My anime preferences 3.0
(not recommended to sensitive otakus)

- Good series don't need fanservice.
- Plot is needed.*
- Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu is boring. Lucy Star is stupid.
- The story MUST have an end. Before episode 254.
- It's not cute when you're stupid or weak, unless you are EFFECTIVELY a child.
- Innocent is fine. Dumb and useless is not.
- The fact of being yaoi/yuri doesn't make me dislike a couple. Or like!
- Loli supporters should be sent to prision.
- Loli characters should be sent to hell.

*I like some character development and a good argument, so that I can see that there is a point on the show: showing people's feelings, funny situations, whatever. Not necessarily a huge adventure that follows a straight line.

Mm, well I agree with your opinion and my rant review was mostly to vent some frustrations I had with the anime, especially since it's so hyped up. My main focal point of hate in CG is Kururugi Suzku though, a character that made me drop the anime almost every episode.

I thought Death Note was better than CG for the sole reason of the atmosphere and tension that Death Note managed to build up. It was like watching a good suspenseful thriller.

I like your list of anime preferences.

It tries to have a story but it ends up being pretty boring and the characters aren't very interesting unless you like typical animu archetypes. MEH.

Yeah it's not all that common here either, though I live in the middle of nowhere so anything that isn't (American) football or baseball is hard to find, or really expensive (the fencing place around here was very pricey). We do have a Kendo place though, I've been thinking of trying that...

I used to do fencing for a little bit (Saber was mah choice) but the place closed and there's no other classes around here. A shame, I've been wanting to continue it for a while.

Well, I suppose you could make them more specific like "pointless, stereotypical, and sexualized moe" or "repetitive stories lacking in originality or purpose". Mikuru also annoyed me to no end. =P

As for YKK, it is rather uneventful compared to other series if taken literally, but it gets more interesting once you start reading between the lines and pay attention to its themes and motifs. Like Kino no Tabi and Mushishi, YKK is one of those series which become more enjoyable when reflected and speculated upon.

Not that I consider myself as a sensitive otaku and I do agree with a lot of things in your list but I think it's not right to condemn everything and everyone that has something to do with the concept of moe. Similar to violence and sexuality, it is an element which can seriously mess things up or enhance the story depending on how it is used (think Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuiokuhen). Also...

Spawn=Create I think.
It's used e.g. amongst FPS gamers "respawn"="make your character be reborn into game" in short = recreate. Remove "re" prefix and you have "Spawn"="Create" ;P

Erm... why not? But I don't want to be a judge ;p not my thing. You could make it into rounds - like ten captions per one capture, then make it into vote, so that people can vote on their favorite ;p... The problem would be lots of topics being spawned :/

I know. Maybe make it into single topic. Author (you) posts a picture and people can post captions for let's say 24h. After that you choose the one you like the most, and the winner can post his own picture - the procedure repeats. What do you think?
