It doesn't really mean anything of course. Some critics (like me) are basically on there because of quantity of reviews written, not necessarily quality. MOST of my reviews get over 50% approval, but sometimes I write a review that gets rather negative feedback and out of 180 some reviews, only 4-5 have received over 100 thumbs up. Other critics are on there because they wrote reviews in 2006-2007 when MAL only had a few reviews available and if you went to a series like Evangelion, you had 1 of 2 reviews to vote on: one positive review and one negative review. You voted depending on whether you personally liked or disliked Eva, regardless of the review's actual quality. One guy is ranked high up there from writing joke/stub reviews that in 2015 the Mods would take down in 30 minutes, but in 2007 the mods were really chill and people voted them up because they provided cheap laughs.
Go to anime. Go to the section that states "most helpful". It lists the top 50 critics in order of how many thumbs up they have received. That is the only way that MAL ranks critics, because it is objective and measurable rather than something subjective like "good taste", which has a definition that varies depending on the individual.
Gracias, amigo, for your comment about a damn month ago, already, my bad! Might I congratulate you on finishing End of Eva and offer my condolences for all of the sperm you lost during watching it.
I like your tags, too, especially "gay." is that literally gay or...? I LOVE A MYSTERY!
