I want to recommend this manga to people that are okay with endings that don't add up, since for the most part I somewhat enjoyed reading Summertime Render. It has a decent cast, the art isn't terrible and while some parts are far too drawn out I'd say I enjoyed most of the action in it. The mythos were my favorite part of the manga until they were explained. Fans of Higurashi looking for a more grounded story will enjoy this manga for it's similar setting and improved MC if anything. Hi there. It's me, Ark. You know, after years of countless trash that takes itself too seriously I'm glad I got to watch something that is fun again within this genre. Before isekai ruined most of the fantasy genre in Japan with it's eye rolling, self insert excrement, instant slave love interest and a total lack of adventure we simply had Fantasy. Gaikotsu, despite being an isekai feels more like the old anime with it's one dimensional yet endearing characters, somewhat linear story...in another world.

It is for the most part, painfully average but it doesn't insult the viewer like other romcoms/slice of life series that spend over 300 chapters without any progress and fill up the story with useless one dimensional characters. Also you have actual character growth not regression so that you can keep making milking your cow.
Aharen is a anime about two au...special people that enjoy being with each other and for the most part it tries to be gag manga. While it fails most of the time as a comedy the interaction between the two of them is cute and it doesn't feel like a slog ...

Well that was disappointing. I'm not sure what killed my enjoyment more, the lack of direction after episode 5, that same one song that was bland despite having a talented singer or Kabe. Wait I know, it was the padding and lack of Koumei. You know, the reason many of us picked up the anime in the first place? They somehow managed to make me not care about Eiko halfway through.
Maybe PA Works should have consulted with Koumei regarding how long they were gonna stretch an arc since they are so used to making original shows that span over 13 episodes? Nah let's just add ...

Here is a super short review that doesn't contain any spoilers but will answer any questions you might have regarding this anime. It's a Jun Maeda anime. That means it has a strong 3 or 4 episodes going in and then it becomes an absolute dumpster fire. The music is the only redeeming thing about this anime outside some comedy skits at the beginning.
