I'd say one of the best series of watched, ever and for the entire summer. A wonderful combination of music, comedy, topped off with a lovely bit of romance. Its an excellent rendition of classical music made for the modern era to enjoy.

Character, art and story are each crafted exceptionally. A bit slideshowish during the musical performances, which i usually look down upon, but it helped me enjoy the music with out the distraction of flashy animation. The hand-drawn, painted art and overall art did a wonderful job of expressing different emotions and details. And of course the two main ...

Essentially it is a recap of the original Genesis Evangelion which aired in Japan back in ’95. Though I haven’t watched the original series, this movie does a good job clearly telling its story and developing each character sufficiently.

With the latest graphics and CGI the animation and fight scenes excellent, and at moments just take your breath away – that is if you’re watching the movie with high quality. The amount of detail integrated in the foreground, mecha, and characters (not just the main characters) are tremendous. The sound does an effective job of enhancing each theme provoked ...

Clannad Movie (Anime) add
[As originally posted on AnimeNfo.com]
[Watched and Reviewed before Viewing TV series]
-via kyzoryn

A few days ago I witnessed the animation called Clannad, an epic story that focuses around the progression of a boy that who suffers from depression and a girl who never loses hope. It is a “good slice of life” movie that centralizes around the themes of strong friendship and family.

One major weakness is the underdevelopment of the climax and ending. They reach the climax and then proceed to give and show no detail, but rather rush towards the ending. I’m not going to give any spoilers, but the ending, though great in depth ...

Hikaru no Go (Anime) add
[Longest Review I've ever written - as originally posted on AnimeNfo.com - warning minor spoilers] -via Kyzoryn

When I stumbled upon Hikago I was shocked to see its rank as Seven here at Anime Nfo. A series soley revolving around the world of Go and not simply a theme for a plot centralized elsewhere. Though a drama at heart Hikaru no Go is a an anime that goes beyond the experience of enjoyment, it has affected me personally and the world of Go, nearly tripling the number of active players worldwide. It is a series that will remain a classic in the realm of anime as ...

Baka to Test no Shokanju is hilarious and shall we say a refined and a step up from the failure known as Great Teacher Onizuka. Both were based around a school; however, Shokanju focused on the students an incorporated perverted and idiotic jokes there. Its a show where the main character is so stupid and obliviious its hilarious.

The story is based around a school system comparable to no other - it is equivalent to a social heirarchy and survival of the fittest. The smartest are place in "Class A" while the dumbest are place in "Class F." Each class ...

Death Note (Anime) add
[Edited for spoilers] Original Review can be found on Animenfo.com -via Kyzoryn

Death Note is a variance of Code Geass. With that being said, Death Note depicts a story without fighting, blood-shed and physical super powers that many anime are built upon; instead it focuses upon the psychological aspects through a battle of two geniuses, Light Yagami the protagonist and L the antagonist.

The beauty of the storyline is not the good vs. bad (which is actually a grey area) is the fork between L and Light which forces viewers to fall in love with either of the two, but not both. The constant challenges, betrayal, and ...

[Note: Assumed that readers are familiar with First Season]

Code Geass R2 is a continuation of Code Geass and a step up from Death Note and Fullmetal Alchemist - with improvements in characters and one of the best endings of all time - though some may consider it cliche it is quite moving and is the defining moment of Lelouch and the show itself.

The array of plot twists from the betrayal of Lelouch's sister to his ultimate rise to power, the power struggle between him and his brother and the killer conclusion - It is all you could ask for. The ending sums up the entire ...

I personally love Code Geass it has an amazing storyline and great animation to add another level of to the depth of the character and story; the characters exemplify many motifs of hate, utopian idealism, and love, and as a whole introduces a twisted approach to create peace within this world. Code Geass as many say, is a variation of Death Note, but holds its own, especially in originality.

The storyline is the Code Geass' strongest point, an array of goals with both good and bad intentions. What truly makes it great is the lack of good side and bad side, as there are good principles ...

Dragon Ball Z (Anime) add
I have mixed feelings for this anime. Dragon Ball Z was the first anime i watched growing up as a child and I loved it, but re-watching it was a dissappointment. However! I will say this I highly respect Dragon Ball Z for it was the gateway for Anime for viewers not only in America, but the world.

The plot is self-contradicting, repetive and extremely lengthy. There are many episodes where it is simply a stare down and many of the fights are lengthy and lack depth. However there is thrill when the enemy is knocked out.

Goku's voice in English is actually more enjoyable than ...

Scrapped Princess is comparable to picture book, nothing thrilling or mind boggling, but a pleasant series to relax and watch without all the hype and suspense, but still manages to be interesting and enjoyable

Scrapped Princess is a light anime with a simple plot - a princess who is prophesized to destroy the world fights for survival, with her step brother and sister to protect her. The simplicity of the plot creates a lack of depth within the characters. Despite, the simplicity of the plot there are no fillers and the ending is strong and succinct.

However, the anime has some sweet, funny, and frustrating parts. ...
