Exactly, we're not supposed to be flying! No I didn't end up going... and it was a good thing because I would have been flying when the hurricane hit so my flight would have been cancelled lol. It was supposed to be a sisterly visit, but I'll see her for Christmas :)

Yeah I sometimes will talk with the person next to me. That distracts me a bit from the whole concept of being up in the air. I think that's what I hate... that I'm not on the ground and that I have no control over what happens. I hate little airplanes because the turbulence seems to be worse & of course for domestic flights they are all small :( I still haven't decided if I'm going or not.
Oh I see, so she teaches English to kids? Yeah probably at least knowing basic Japanese will help a lot. I think if you got some language software, you'd pick it up probably quicker then just watching anime. Because with anime you can only hear it.

It won't be a long flight, probably 2 hrs. My sister lives in Michigan and she wants me to come at the end of October. So I will probably get brave & go see her haha. It will be my first time on a flight alone though...

I know what you mean. The media can be brutal about women for sure. It bothers me that the female characters are linked to Gin too. That one arc where he was supposedly dating all of them was really stupid, and then how he kept grabbing that girl's boobs "accidentally" and her blushing... *sigh* I try to ignore that crap for the most part since Gintama is so hilarious.
Shakespeare can be difficult sometimes. I took a Shakespeare class which was fun, but my professor was so good that he made it easier to understand. Henry IV was not my favorite play lol. I prefer Shakespeare's comedies as opposed to his history and tragedy plays.

Just put on some music and try to zone out :) Well at least if you know some basic phrases that's better than nothing. lol I don't even watch shows that have an all girl cast for that very reason. If it isn't yuri, it's moe and fan service. CR has a shit ton of those shows because they must think CR is full of perverted guys (and actually, that might be true of the majority haha). But there are girls on there that actually want to watch good stories. That's why I like josei so much (and yep, it's geared towards adult women). I don't mind shonen, though sometimes the battles and fights can get a bit annoying. I do think my sense of humor is like a teenage boy though since I laugh so hard at Gintama XD
I saw a trailer for Shakespeare Hollow Crown and it looks so good! I hope they will show it in the US eventually :)

There are a few good series on CR: Chihayafuru and Kids on the Slope that I would recommend if you have some time to watch anime again. The characters, story, and animation style are excellent. Also Natsuyuki Rendezvous which just started airing. All of these are classified as josei so that's why they're so good :D
I own a few of the Sherlock stories so I'll definitely try to get to them soon!

I finished Death Note: Another Note light novel and I rated it a 7. L wasn't the main character (he only made one appearance at the end) so that bummed me out. I didn't really like the female FBI agent, Misora either (the one Kira kills in Death Note). And even weirder is that Mello narrates! Yeah, and I know how much you hate him lol. It just didn't make sense that he was the narrator... it should have been told from the 3rd person perspective.
But despite all that, I enjoyed it. A really quick read... I just wish L would have actually been in the story :( I would have rated it much higher then.

I've only read a few Korean series, but I've noticed that they put an emphasis on great art and somewhat more realistic looking characters. It's also read left to right... and I actually forgot this a few times and read it right to left and got confused lol.

Oh and speaking about detectives... have you seen the new Sherlock series? I love it so much! In episode 1 Sherlock was sitting just like L and I actually said out loud: I bet the director is a Death Note fan! haha. It was so cool to see that.

The 3rd film isn't a prequel, it take place after the 2nd. It's confusing because he writes some kind of clause in the Death Note so he dies after he solves his last case. The book I'll be reading soon is a prequel though, which I hope arrives in the mail this week! I love the narrator for being an L-fan :D Yep Kira got his, I think I cheered when he died *evil laugh*
I just ordered it so hopefully I receive it next week and then I'll let you know how it is :) I read the first few pages on amazon and the narrator was talking about how L shouldn't have died and how much they hate Kira haha, so I decided right then I had to read it.

I like fantasy a lot too-- just finished this book called The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen which is in the young adult genre, but it's not written childishly at all. It was kind of a violent too... the main character kept getting beat up! It's the first book in a trilogy. I'm waiting for a few more titles from the library now, so I've been re-reading my copies of Ouran High School Host Club to pass the time :) Do you have a shelfari account? If so I can send you a friend request on there.

Speaking of Death Note, I'm thinking about buying the light novel "Another Note" which is about L working a case in LA with that female detective Light killed. Have you read that by any chance? It seems to have pretty decent reviews... and I feel like I should buy it since I'm such an L fangirl. haha And no d-bag Light to piss me off which is always a plus!
