I know Parkway is also my favorite band along with Joyce Manor. Deep Blue is my favorite album of all time it is so amazing. I saw them at the Fillmore in Philly with In Hearts Wake, Thy Art Is Murder, and Miss May I quite possibly the best show I've ever seen. It is nice to see other people who like PWD as much as I do lol.

Philly! I go there a lot to see bands play. And I like the Flyers.

Alright then
On the heavier, more plot driven ones:
-3-gatsu no Lion is one of my favourite shows of all time, tells a story of a young prodigy of shogi - basically Japanese chess. Finished airing last season.
-Hyouka is a great character driven show, where all characters really develop and go places if you look deep enough into their ways of thinking
-Little Busters is my favourite show of all time. It has arcs focusing on each character, but does tie everything up in the second season. There's a lot of just friends being friends and lighthearted stuff, but it's a good story in my opinion
-Personally I really like Kokoro Connect, but I know a lot of people don't. It's probably better if you watch it sooner than later, so at this point I don't know if you'll like it.
-Uchouten Kazoku is a very unique anime with a second season airing right. It may seem boring, but let me tell you, it goes places.
-Tsuritama is a crazy, mostly forgotten show about fishing and a lot more. Highly reccomend it, though it's a bit weird.
- And then there's always Haruhi Suzumiya. can't really tell you much about it. It's just Haruhi Suzumiya.
-I guess I could squeeze Welcome to the N.H.K in here, but it's more of a comedy-drama than anything else. There's a lot of talk about life though, so I think it would work.

As for more relaxing ones:
-Love Live is a hit or miss show about an idol group. If you'll like the characters, then it only gets better and better in terms of what it really is the more it goes on. There's development and progression, great ending in the movie too.
-You mentioned K-On. Can't stress out enough how much do I reccomend it. Just like Love Live, there's actual plot and character development, but it's very subtle and often lost in the middle of all that's going on on the screen, and there's a lot of that. Really fun show that brought me back to all those great moments I had with my friends. Not the deepest show, but there's more than meets the eye during the watch.
-Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon is just a very fun show, that just like K-On has more to it than just the fun. Warning, there are bouncing boobs in it, sometimes in front of a child, which some people found disgusting, but I don't think it matters in the grand scheme of things. If we're talking getting back into SOL, this one should be it. The first episode is not the best, but it really gets going when more characters join in.
-Tamako Market is worth a watch if only to watch Tamako Love Story after it, which is a great movie. it's still pretty good in its own right, but it depends whether you'll like the atmosphere after the first couple of episodes. A girl living in a shopping district runs into a talking bird from a foreign country. Pretty much a comedy, but there's a lot of talking about life too.

As for the more romance-y ones
-Your Lie in April, a very personal favourite of mine. Great directing, lots of memorable moments, fun characters, but also lots of monologues and lack of clear progression in some episodes (Even though I still liked all that). Watch out for that.
-Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! is just the sillies of shows. Fantastic characters, interesting plot, great premise, great execution. Highly reccomded for getting back into SOL.
-Clannad is great, most people say how great the second season is, but I think the first holds up pretty well and it's a good build up for the rest of it. It explores much more than some other romances in After Story though, so even if you don't really like it by the end of the first 23 episodes, there's a lot more to come. If you want to get back into SOL, this is a good pick too.

Also, two movies:
-Kiki's Delivery service is an extremely charming Ghibli movie about a young witch sent out to live in a real world. Good stuff.
-Wolf Children is just a movie that anyone should watch in my honest opinion. It's just that good of a movie on its own. A mother having to raise two children, very specific children at that. Highly reccomended as anything. Worth a watch at any time.

I hope I threw in enough to diversify. I picked a few that I think are great for getting back into watching SOL:
-Kobayashi
-Chuunibyou
-Clannad
-3-gatsu no Lion
But the others are pretty good for that as well. Whatever premise makes it sound the most interesting right now I guess. Those shows are all about how you feel at the moment anyway.

"Best" is a heavy thing to say, but if you want to ask about Moe/SOL you've come to the right place.
You want happy stuff, light stuff, heavier stuff, sadder stuff, more plot driver stuff, more all over the place stuff, or do you just want anything?

Expected this hate? Most certainly. However my score of 1 really is honest. I think its by far the worst written series I've ever seen, and I've seen/read quite a solid amount of shitty series. This is my genuine, non-exaggerated opinion of it as a series. In my mind its irredeemable garbage.
