ok for one this 10 will only make sense if you have played the game

I have been a die hard fan of this game for a long time, and when i first saw the original series i felt rather, well disappointed, it skimmed through half the game in a an instant, then came along this second season and it put my skepticism to a rest, the Tethe'alla arc ended up not only meeting the quota of the game but it actually topped it by a longshot,

The 2 big changes that the anime did better in the anime appossed to the game for this ... were the big twist and actually making the romance between lloyd and collete a real romance, i wont spoil the twist but there is a big one concerning lloyd in the final epiosde, in the game it was pretty mindblowing at the time but it wasn't really placed right and it didnt feel very climactic, the way they do it in the anime was holy shit worthy for anyone who hasn't played the game, its climactic, makes sense, ad has a very badass fight because of it

and back to the romance thing, in the original game the romance was kinda just there and it had no conclusion it alowed you to pick another girl named sheena aswell but it wasn't really that good and doesn't make any sense whatsoever for him to do it, the game just felt like it hacked it on there just because but the anime kinda made it a huge driving force for lloyd and it made a few scenes very emotional, and heres the real kicker thta made me go 100% fangirl, they actually give a conclusion to the romance, keep in mind ive been supporting that ship or 9 years and i finally got something from it, im gonna fangirl like crazy, i honestly think when it happened my penis went back inside me and turned into a vagina, that's how fan-girl i got when it happened,

but thats not the full reason why i mentioned this, im mentioning it cause it all makes the show overall better, the romance while not HUGE it does take up a bit and really built lloyd and collete as characters, and we also in the anime get to finally meet up with the entire cast fully and they handle them very well, specifically zelos was handled perfectly in the anime version, hes stuck up, jokes around, got kinda of a ego but hes also someone you dont want to fuck with and is hiding something that may screw everyone over, he reacts great with the entire cats though the most entertaining are the ones between him and lloyd and him and sheena, they just work kinda well off each other


One thing that's just a nice little plus for this, these episodes include small little skits making fun of the anime with he characters themselves and they are very funny, they make fun of things like kratos not getting enough screen time, genis being useless, lloyd being a idiot ext. they are quite funny and a treat to TOS fans out there

if you have not played the game i do suggest watching the anime instead, though the final part is still to come out(will come out this fall)

and do not be dissuaded by the length, even if these are only 10 episodes for both seasons keep in mind they are all longer than a normal show, the original season was 30 min per episode so it kinda ended up being a 10 episode length and this is only 4 episodes but it is the length of 2 normal shows episodes(20 min is normal length) of 40 min, so overall just these 2 season equal the length of a 18 episode series and with the finale on the way it may end up being a 24 episode length,

to summarize this if you'v played the game this will be a treat to watch and if you haven't its something that anyone can enjoy cause its got borderline something for everyone

we all know of this serise for being a fucked up violent horror, but in reality its not, all the violence is either not that focused or off screen and left to your imagination of what it looked like which defiantly goes towards the shows horror aspect, as this show is a horror it defiantly succeeds on many levels with some slight flaws such as the next ill mention and ill get back to what the pros are in a minute.

cons:
-even though the horror aspect is great the show tries to fit in comedy, keyword is tries, the show isnt funny and the comedy just ... kills the mood even though the show has the comedy only appear in calmer parts of the show it just distracts the drama and horror and without it the show would of been more not only entertaining but more (for a lack of a better word) engrossing, it doesnt ruin the show completely but i sat there with a straight face the entire comedy parts save one joke when they were playing tag

-the charecters are unlikable, i relise their kids but the main character is just a gigantic asshole, mion is just a bitch for no reason, rena is annoying and surprisingly more likable when shes the bat-shit insane version, rika is the one character i wont talk bad about, she is annoying in the first season but after the 2nd season you will see exactly why im not bashing her, finally there's satako who i kinda just forgot existed, there is one more character im not going to mention cause it ruins a entire arc and twist in that arc

-acting isnt awful(well the dub is) but its not good and fairly lackluster, the only time the charecters really stand out(acting wise) are when they laugh miniacly which really is just to over the top and ruins many good moments form how flat out stupid it is

-lack of explanation, yes they do explain most things in seaosn 2 but thats season 2, this whole season gives a bunch of questions and 0 answers leaving you confused, i relise now you can just watch season 2 afterwords but you still need to keep in mind that there were people watching the show form the start and had to wait over 2 years to get answers, i cant forgive that just cause i got lucky at the time i watched it season 2 was finished

-pointless, i know most people found the restarting realities entertaining but when it comes down to it, its all pointless, all forms of any development characters get, all interactions, deaths, and everything gets reset each time to the poitn where this entire season just felt meaningless, the show has no development until persay the last arc which seaosn 2 makes pointless aswell, that's where higurashi completely fails, its pointless, regardless of what happens it always gets reset, we do get to see cannon parts of the characters past to why their so fucked up but its not enough to make up for 24 episodes of stuff that effect nothing

pros: as i have stated already the horror is great and have a lot of twists you dont see coming,

-since you rarely see the violence it leaves it to your imagination to how brutal the deaths really are, it also adds to the horror and its one of the few horrors not just in anime that seem scary due to the violence

-animation is pretty good but the charecter designs just look weird but movement is fluid

-when the show gets phycological it really gets both into the messed up to even depressing pasts at times and it even makes you feel some sympathy for the characters despite how bland they are

overall:
im giving the show a 6 but i still recommend you try it out, the show has alot of problems and this 6 is really verging on a 5, but the show is a one of a kind, there isnt another anime i can think of that's like this, at least for the horror aspect, to me the show is mediocrity to me but i think everyone should see this show cause of how different it is.

im not gonna give some review breaking it down cause you know what theres no point, this show doesnt try to be anything, it rarley gets seirous, parodies itself almsot every second, and is just tries to do one thing and one thing only, be fun, and it succeeds, the show isnt gonna get you emmotionaly attached or make you laugh your ass off, its merly going to take you on a awsome trip of WTF moments, the shows over the top, has no plot, bt still has development in the charecters, the show is legitimently funney at times, but when it coems down to ... it this show is just fun

thats all you need to know, i know people are cautious about 10's given out like this that ignore obvious flaws but should it really matter, this is one of the most enjoyable shows ive ever seen, i just sit back anbd have fun with it, and really what more do you want, iude rather watch this show thats fully aware of all its flaws and laughed at them and just goes off to have a fun ride instead of watching a show that tries too hard to be gripping and ends up with just being a drag.

so ill just say this and end this review, if you want a fun show that laughs at its own flaws and has fun with it while still having some good serious moments when it needs to get serious, just kick back and watch one fabulous episode of star driver cause their wont ever be another show like this, enjoy it for what it is, not what it could have been,

when it boild down to it this show is a harme romantic comedy, it is almost everything i hate about anime, the only thing worse then all the things in this show is when i ended up loving the show,

the comedy is actualy very funny and leads to many original set peices since the island the charecters are on, is completly new and crazy, its fun crazy, original and just fun to watch,

i do need to give props to the romance though seeing how the main one between ikuto and suzu is much more well handled then any other harem ive seen, for one they ... dont fall head over heels for eachother at first sight, ide say romance doesnt start till around episode 10ish giving the two time to develope towards eachother, the only con about the romance is theres no conclusion to it but i can forgive it cause theres no love triangle in sight at least a serious one, plus it also leads to the chance of a second season

when i say theres no serious love triangle i mean that every girl wants to marry ikuto just becouse hes the only guy to ever come to the island in recent times, most of the girls just trying to get with him in comical moments but they never actualy get serious with him aside from a couple scenes with a girl namd rin in one episode but its only there to make suzu relise that she does hold feeling or ikuto and its never really brought up again past that, also they dont have the romance overblown or one sided, it never takes up a full episode and you can tell both charecters do like eachother

the comedy is pretty funny and original, i wotn spoil how crazy the show gets cause that was a part of the fun about the show, but its is very funny but it takes some time for it to get funny, it spends some ime establishing how the island works before the jokes really start rollng in but its still entertaining before it starts getting funny

the charecter arent devleoped aside form the imense amount of development ikuto and suzu get but everyone else is there really only for comical effect, but its not like none of them arent likable, all the girls are likable int heir own comedical right with the exception of rin who is kinda just, well there, not bad but not the best

and before i finish i must state i despise echhi, but this show isnt neccicarily classy with it, it never gets ridiculous with it, no panty shots, thye arent that many sex jokes, and the only real echhi about the show is that the girls are ok being naked around ikuto, even then they dont show much in that sense, echhi never really bothered me and the times they do use it usaly end up being some funny jokes

even though im giving this a 8 its more a 9 but i am holding it back for some flaws such as a few charecter cliches in the side charecters and the ending, the show is still a very high 8 though

overall this show is a fun romantic comedy with 2 very likable main charecters, one very well done romance, and many very funny scenes, i highly recomend it if you just want a fun show with a good romantic side,

to describe this season in 1 word it would be, disapointing,

what really made the first season work for me was it had some amazing suspense, great cliffhangers and had a lot of twists, and even for how steriotypicaly emo zero was they handles him very well and he came off like a selfless teen that was willing to let him suffer and even die a slow painful death if he had to, to save yuuki or his father and even just people in general, and his hatred for vampires and yet him being one realy built up his charecter, why am i mentioning this, ... well i mentioning it cause zero is hardly even in the second season, and heres where the show starts to take a sudden downturn

this seaosn focused very much on kaname and yuuki, and befor ei go off i have to mention this, this show has the absoulte WORST TWIST EVER, you wont see it coming but when they reveal what it is and what they continue to do after words is just WTF worthy, but back on topic the show focuses much more kaname and yuuki, now this would of been the chance to make kaname more likable caus ein the first serise he is a total asshole that steals the spotlight and acts very high and mighty, basicly hes a asshole and the first time i saw guilty i though he was the villian cause they make him much much worse, he does some dasterdly things and he just come soff as evil till the very end and even then he still seems like he'd fuck over everyone for his own goal, which is protecting yuuki but his logic is "ill kill everything but yuuki" so yah kaname may have somehow become even more worse, yuuki isnt any different from the first serise at all

and heres the biggets problem with guilty, theres no suspense, every build up leads to a let-down, a cop out, or they just drop the plot point all together, they build up this one villian who lasts about 20 seconds of fighting, i wish i were kidding, the show just doesnt have any good cliffhangers either and for a lack of a better word its just boring, not to sound like a fanboy/girl but when zeor comes in the show does get better, mainly cause some very emotional things happen and you want this guy to get what he wants but he has everyone int he world agianst him, ide say if it werent for scenes of zero and his brother the sow would have been a 4,

the actual ending does leave not really a cliffhanger but leaves alot of things open for the inevitable season 3, its a good ending and i want to see what happens next the ending fight is a letdown but the actual ending while not satisfying will leave you wondering what happens next, the next season really needs to work on making yuuki less of a idiot, make kaname stop doing worse things the actual villians do then season 3 wil lbe good. fingers crosse dit will work out

also before i leave i just have to comment on how dated and lazy this shows animaiton is, it seriously looks like its from 2003, whenever animaiton gets good it lasts for about 4 seconds then back to outdated animation, they need to fix that aswell

this show is absolutly perfect in every way......what, plotholes? oh we can forgive a couple. wait? oh many did you say there was? oh damn.....

oh well as long as the charecters are fine.see look at this one girl her name, Mitsuki yah thats it, look shes self centered, bitchy, mentaly unstable and causes everyone around her to have horrible horrible and tragic lives, shes a perfect antagonist, see most romance slice of lifes dotn have antagonist but this show has the balls to give us one and a realy good on at th- wait what? SHE THE HEROIN!!! WHAT THE FLYING FUC-

here is the only good about the show, both language tracks for the show are phenominal and really put there all into the show, you can tell these people wanted to make the show work,

im generous right now with this 2, only caus ei think a show should never be lower than a 3 regardless how bad but you know what screw that this is the one instant where its worse than a 3

this is a sequal to spice and wolf and if your reading this review then chances are youv seen spice and wolf one so lets cut the story descriptions and all that other BS and lets talk about how show has improved

the show fixes what i thought my biggest problem with the first serise was and im very sorry for having to use this word to describe the show but i cant think of anything that fits the description of the show at times, the first season was just boring at times, there doesnt need to be aciton or anything but there ... are a few sections where people are just bartering and we only see the room is happening in while the people talk in borderline riddles, while its not completly gone they manage to make the bartering way more interesting and seem like things are more at stake.

the cast is pretty short and horo and laurance are the only returning charecters but the new cast is interesting and while not necessarily likable for obvious reasons when you see the show they add something to the show,

another thing significantly improved was the main relationship, horo and laurance's relaitonship was already realy fun and enjoyable to watch but i felt more attached to them as charecters in this as they start showing more affection towards eachotherand realy felt like people in this.

those were the 3 things that realy brought the show up for me, there are some very very minor flaws like animation not being improved at all but the show already looked great and sitll looks great now so thats forgiven, the show is a great sequal that manages to top its predececor in close to every way, if you enjoyed the firts then i highly recomend it

listen i know this show looks AWFUL and just flat out stupid but let me tell you that couldnt be farther from the truth, without a doubt this is the best show of the season. when i first saw a preview for this i though

"oh god, what is this crap, well thats one show ill never watch"

im so happy my freind talked me into watching this, this show starts off just being really fun with a very nice color pallet to it. then you realy start to love the charecters ecpecialy the MC, then you start getting tot he serious part then the villian then ... the comedy. to sum it up this show goes from entertaining to legitimently very interesting and willl keep you interested in the plot

the only real con i can give about his show is the over abundance of cgi, its obviously there to save a few bucks cause when you get to more serious scene and the budget kicks in they dont use any cgi and it is realy a sight to see. but it does just make the cgi when its there more annoying, i got used to it around episode 7ish but it may bother some at the start.

nmbering the criteria for this show wouldnt realy do it justice and make it seem worse than what it really is, i dont know if you trust reviews like mine but i beg you, watch this show, theres nothing like it, never will be anything like it either, this show is ery underrated becous eof idiots like me that didnt watch it cause it looked "weird" without even bothering to try it"

i have seen a large portion of anime/TV/manga ext, but out of all of them I'd say there are only 3 of them that were so well done, tragic, and just plain outstanding that it actually made em cry, the first was chrono crusade, the second was clannad, and then of course we have tokyo magnitude 8.0, as of right now i had just finished the serise about 30 min. ago and it was one of a kind but ill break it down into parts now.

story (9/10) the plot is just as you read in the synopsis, its a earthquake hitting tokyo city and effect ... it has, there isn't much depth to it but this is a character piece and it focuses all on our 3 mains and the side characters that they come across and not the earthquake itself, it feels like the earthquake is just a secondary thing when all the real drama and enjoyment comes form the characters,

art(8/10) this is a studio BONES so its always guaranteed to look outstanding with there distinctive color pallet and fluid movements, and while this shows first 6 episodes look outstanding after that you can tell the later episodes have a much lower budget seeing how theres not much destruction in the later episodes, which is ok but the art takes a noticeable dip in quality but sitll good

sound(10/10) acting is phenomenal on everyones part. Satomi Hanamura portrays mirai's personality perfectly and realy sells it in the last ep, same going with Yumiko Kobayashi as yuki who actually sounds like a kid, everyone is really good at acting in the show and Yūko Kaida really sounds like a mom in her 20 to 30's, the music is outstanding, its rare to find a show where the music is extremely memorable but tokyo magnitude pulls it off, some track fit scenes perfectly and while its no clannad ost its still very well done

characters(10/10) wether its our 3 mains yuki, mirai, and mari or one of the 1 shot characters that only appear for a episode everyone is extremely likable. some of the one shot characters may come off insane but still likable like the robotku who is obsessed with robots, the main 3 are easily the most likable and are all realistic and develop, our MC mirai acts her age, shes a 11 year old so naturally shes bratty and full of herself like we all were back then, yuki is a little less realistic but is believable enough to the point where you could imagine a kid with his personality existing in real life, and finally mari who acts like a real mother, she hides her fear and worries so she doesn't frighten the children(mirai and yuki) but as a human she has her breaking points and as the serise progresses she grows more and more worried about things and a certain plot point i wont spoiled introduced very early, the characters are great and develop well,

enjoyment(10/10) if the premise doesn't give it away this show is downright depressing, its not for those easily upset especially with the horrible events that happened in real life recently, now actual enjoyment it will keep you interested even in the calmer episodes halfway through, its very enjoyable and will leave you in denial till it happens for the last 4 episodes,

overall(10/10) yah the near non existent story and animation dip halfway through doesn't stop this form being what it is, and thats a realistic prediction of what would happen to tokyo in a few years, the show is depressing and while there is one significantly obvious twist it will still leave you shocked from it and may leave you in tears like it did me, this is one of a kinda and well worth watching. and make sure to sit through the credits, how they do the epilogue is very well done even though i didn't get to see much of it since my vision was blurred from crying so much in the previous 5 min prior
