Hi! Want to know something about me? I'm 18 years old Czech girl. My real name is Kateřina (Czech variation of Kathreen) and I love anime (you had no idea, right?) My nickname is actually derived from my first OC, Ishikawa Katsumi. I wrote stories about her and her acquintances with my friends when I was in eighth grade, but I still find her character pretty good. She was mad scientist (I have great love for these characters), sarcastic, crazy and selfish. Year later, I found out about Stein from Soul Eater and I immeaditely thought: "Wow, male version of Katsumi!"
I study Chemistry for two years and it has been really fun so far, especially organic chemistry. It may seem like crazy nonsense when you see it for the firs time, but it actually HAS it's logic and I think it's awesome. I want to be a chemist so much.
As for my hobbies: anime, manga, reading books (I am a HUGE bookworm, I will read almost anything, but my favorite writer of all time is Terry Pratchett - you just have to love his ironic sense of humour and parodies of fantasy genre), roleplaying, sitcoms, studying languages... I don't care for outdoor activitities and my dream is to become hikikomori otaku mad scinetist, that would be simply EPIC.
Anime genres I like: Dementia, sci-fi, action (something like Black Lagoon, for example), drama, historical, mystery, psychological, fantasy.

And I actually do remember you since I remember posting a comment on someone who had 3 in common favourite animes, although since a few weeks ago I changed SE:L to Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai. Although SE:L still remains a fav, even if its not displayed on my top 5.
Anyways, SZS and Mononoke are awesome. Somehow I really like them so much and I don't even know why the are appeal so much to me! OMG, If Nozomu-sensei were my teacher I'd be blessed, haha, *dreams on*
I shall nod in agreement with you too :) I quite like these genres more than the others.
Uhm, lets see...the most hated? That's something different, well, I guess the most hated would belong in the genres that I don't like for e.g Yuri, Yaoi (Yes most girls love this stuff, but not me -,-;), Harem, Shoujo romance, and H.
Well since I don't watch those genres, ones I regret watching are...I hate Bleach, Naruto, SD Gundam, School Days and anything dubbed. ARGH I can't stand dubbings...They make my ears bleed.

Man, video games are my love, along with anime and manga. I quite like RPGs like Final Fantasy, Journey etc.
Although I do enjoy first person shooting, like Halo and CoD. That's because one of my best friends is a guy who is absorbed in video gaming.

I really can't believe this but we have 3 favourites in common. :'D Hurray! SZS, Mononoke and SE:L. 3 animes which are remarkably amazing...
Anyways, what is your favourite genre of anime?

Mine would probably be slice of life, mystery, psychological/philosophical, fantasy, some action and some comedy. Although I like the ones that make me reflect upon alot, such as SE:L
EDIT: I just saw your 'Anime Genre I like' in your about me...Lol. WOW. Same here...My genre is very similar to yours...o.o;
For me I want to study medicine when I graduate high school (this year) although chem is my 3rd favourite subject, bio is my 2nd and philosophy is my 1st.

I want to be a mad surgeon/doctor (I'm already an otaku)...xD

Recommendation Club Newsletter~Holiday Edition
As we enter into one of the busiest times of the year, we here at the Recommendation Club would like to extend our wishes for each and every one of you to have a wonderful holiday season!
Since the September newsletter, our club has gained many new members, and seen the return of old ones. We would like to keep the momentum going, and with our member list now at 3,111, that should be no problem at all! ^_^.
We would like all of our members, old and new, to help keep this an active, and fun club, a place to Chat and to seek out recommendations in our General anime and General Manga thread as well as the specific anime genre threads, such as Drama and Romance and Sci-fi and many others as well.
It’s a great place to make new friends, or renew past friendships, and we urge all of our members to drop by, and post in the various threads and comment section, as well as share you expertise with other members.

Shounen isn't all I watch, miss. I only watch One Piece and Bleach in the shounen type, and maybe 2 more. Lain is just boring. Waiting for someone to speak is just bullshit. Cutting down the whole show in half would've been better because it wouldn't lose anything.

You have a point there. Light's reaction to death does seem realistic in its own way. However, up until the ending, I had my own image of Light as a strong-willed monster who was only doing the things he was doing because he was bored. I would think a man like that wouldn't care whether he was to die today or tomorrow. In my mind, on the last episode, Light, after getting caught, would be just like L, accepting and admitting his own defeat. He would laugh maniacally and then possibly write his own name in the death note. That would be awesome actually. Unfortunately, the ending we get completely drops Light from any pillar of respect he may have been standing on, and he dies a pitiful creature, with the shinigami killing off the monster he created.
