Wah, SORRY! Ik vergeet hier altijd te kijken. O_O; Beetje heel erg late reactie... *schaam*

XD

Heck yeah it is! And I want an Italized Epic story of your Italized Epic kitty. That's awesome stuff.

(LOL)

hlwar | 11-13-10, 1:42 PM
XD As long as they're epic stories about your cat, it's all good! :D

Hai~ Sou desu yo! xD
Tijdje terug wel hoor. o: Thought it was pretty cool. :3

@__@ Bleach is getting better again lately btw. Why the hell did you drop it, YOU were the one who made me watch it years ago!!! XD

PS: your pic scared the hell out of my friend. xD

I don't think I've ever dropped an anime due to its voice cast. Usually with bad English dubs I can't take the story seriously, so I end up making fun of the entire thing. I'll watch it with my sister, and we'll both adlib and poke fun - it's actually quite enjoyable. (LOL) A little sad because we will turn a dramatic story into a sarcastic comedy, but still enjoyable. And it gets us through the whole anime. ^_~

It's very rare that American TV plays subtitled anime. Okay, so practically never. Not even on IFC (Independent Film Channel) or the defunct AZN (Asian-American Network) where they regularly show foreign features; I saw several anime titles on those stations, but always dubbed. Oo

Well, you can go ahead and rant and rave with me! I'm all for mindless dialogue and rambling conversations. Over at the Tokyo Majin Fanclub I just go off on these wild tangents sometimes. :D

I remember back in the day anime here in the USA fell under two categories: Kids' Cartoons or NC-17 Adult. Everything that was considered a cartoon would be flamboyantly dubbed over with annoyingly loud and silly voices especially for the children on Saturday mornings. The dark anime with big muscley guys and naked chicks would have horribly melodramatic dub-overs who couldn't act if they're lives depended on it; these would typically only be available on VHS. So I hear what you're saying!

I do admit too, the kiddie programs can be okay to watch in English, like Pokemon or Sailor Moon. I think they lose a lot of their deeper meanings or mature concepts when the writers hack apart the dialogue so it would be suitable for kids, but it's still entertaining to watch. And yeah, I kinda agree that seiyuu for cartoons can sound annoying, just because they really can hit a high pitch and be all "kawaii" or "genki". *_*

Dubbing in English has come a long way from what I started with. I have to say I really do like Brad Swaile and Johnny Yong Bosch's abilities.

(LOL) Yay for massive wall texts! I can prattle like nobody's business, so I guess I inspire my friends to chat up a storm with me. Gotta love it. ^_~

You're welcome! Thanks for commenting! :)

And I totally agree with you regarding dubs. Seiyuu actually train for their professions, and most have such awesome voices they can even sing really well; dubbers tend to act like they were just pulled off the street: cheesey and BAD. And most of the English dubbers tend to sound alike to me. Why anyone would prefer to listen to that, I have no clue?! Oo

Granted, there are some anime I didn't mind dubbed, like in the spoof-comedy Shinesman; the English version honestly proved funnier with everyone over-acting and being silly. And over the past few years, English dubs have gotten better and more professional, I will give them that; the Gundam series' are voiced well. *shrugs* It's all personal taste, I guess. Though shame on those who say they watch dubs because they hate reading subtitles. ><

I still adore the original Japanese version, and am a seiyuu ho! XD :D
