The openness and unique world generation are what give this rating an 8. The universe in which Akame ga Kill takes place in is very captivating and is interesting enough to grab most viewers' attention. In terms of plot, however, the show actually falls short compared to the manga it's based on. While this is probably due to the fact that the anime aired much faster than the manga, the overall rushing of the plot was disappointing and led to uncalled for ends for a lot of loveable characters.
