The main character is really likeable. It expands a lot on someone I didn't care or know much about in the main series. I don't often come across an anime where delinquents are portrayed sympathetically. In this they are. You are quickly made to realize that they're just goofy kids, theyre not a stereotype. There's a really interesting parallel to the way the way deliquents are described, as "deserving" of the bad things that happen to them, and the ghouls. I think it's also interesting how Tokyo Ghoul, which is largely a story about persecution, could easily have framed the ghouls as completely lacking humanity. ...

Preliminary (4/12 eps)
This show is some degenerate steaming well animated shit. Truly a garbage show. All the characters are annoying and the main character is mildly infuriating. In fact, usually these types of shows give me pretty bad anxiety. I couldn't even watch seven deadly sins or Mushoko Tensei because of the way their female characters are treated. I found myself shocked, not by the content, but by how dumb a show this is. It's just fucking stupid. After the third episode though, I realized something key; this show is NOT an anime, its a fucking hentai. Once I accepted that, I was able to more fully ...

Honestly I completely forgot what the rest of the anime was about but I just watched this like 5 years later or whatever. This OVA is pure unfiltered king shit. While I think I should hate the trope where the main character is secretly crossdressing the whole time, it's done so well every time i encounter it. At least in this OVA, it's handled with an impressive amount of tact. Fucking good shit. The main character is treated like any other character, and they all just do fun friend stuff which I like. Everyone in this show is so supporting and positive, it's all fluff. ...

When I first watched this, it was a slog. Most of the story leading up to the final few episodes seemed like meaningless fanservice. Regardless of weather this stands on its own, you have to admit that it is at least much better than it's previous iterations. It took me a while to fully appreciate the themes of this show, a bit like Revolutionary Girl Utena. The ending seemed so bleak and meaningless. I wondered if it's only purpose was being edgy and chaotic. Looking back on it, I think the ending was actually perfect. I don't think it was a bleak take on the ...

The show builds up some really interesting themes, and although I found the start pretty slow, the characters really do grow on you. Unfortunately, I feel like by the end Touko doesn't get the character development she deserves. The other characters don't have this problem, but I also feel like Yuuki's key development is all rising action with no climax or resolution. For this reason I came away from the show really disappointed. It really does well to explore various aspects of queer romances, however. I was surprised how thorough it was in introducing love from aces, demis, and lesbians, especially when i've grown to ...
