Okay so let's start this monstrous OVA review.
Story
It's plain and simple, Helba decides to create her own world by telling all the players and characters from the .hack series that she is opening up a hot springs and it's their job or quest to look for it, and apparently whichever group (series) finds it first will get a prize. Aside from the main story there are small little commentaries and tiny problems that the characters have with each other which seem more amusing than the main objective, it's literally like all over the place and it's hard to keep track on who has a problem

with and whatnot. Overall the story is really not that important you'll just be entertained at the fact that Subaru actually used her axe for once.
Art
It's weird, it's plain weird. The characters are drawn in a very abstract manner, it's good that the anime says their name when they pop out because honestly it's so hard to determine which character is who because some of them look nothing like what they're supposed to look like. There were some parts where the animation and art would go back to normal but at such absurd times like when Crim accidentally sliced Balmung's cape and feathers appeared... when it focused on the feathers they looked perfectly fine, and another time when Bear and Orca were fighting and two naked women passed by, why were the women normally drawn while Orca and Bear look like a vomited canvas?!
There were some weird stuff that happened in the anime that I just can't explain; When Sora and Crim were fighting, strings suddenly came out of nowhere and attached to them like they were puppets. Aura came out at the last second right when the OVA was about to finish, did she have a purpose? Or were the writers that desperate to literally put all the characters in the OVA and just inserted her just so they can say she counts... seriously.
Another moment was when in that moment you see Mia and Elk lying down on the hill... and then they just started making out, like wtf no explanation at all?!
Character
There's not much to say about it since all the characters are taken from other series, but one thing is for sure most of them are out of their normal personalities, the writer certainly meant this OVA to be on the comedy side since pretty much all the characters had their own littler comedic twist on them.
Overall this OVA is really weird, enough said.

5 Centimeters Per Second is probably my favourite love story anime of all time, but I can't help it though, I haven't really watched a lot so this will have to do.
This is a tale of two lovers struggling to keep their hearts in contact. The story follows unfortunate events towards the two people that are in love and the hardships they'd have to go through to just to spend some time with each other. Honestly I've never felt like such a wuss after watching this film, the guy would go for miles on end just to spend some time with the girl and sometimes

I would be too lazy to go see my girlfriend who lives in the same city as me. There are three episodes or OVAs and they are all worth to watch. Later on as the girl and the boy get older the story gets a bit more complicated, by focusing on their separate lives and it shows their love for each other fading each and every single day, when they're finally adults they have their own jobs, living by themselves just trying to survive in the city slowly losing the memories of each other but their hearts still linger to reunite.
The art is incredible, it's crisp, it's clean, it's just plain out ridiculous. There's always something to look and gaze at, honestly this has to be one of the most beautiful OVAs I have ever seen and none has given a challenge to it.
The characters are of course mind blowing, they are the ones that cannot be forgotten, they're in focus for the whole OVA and the audience clearly grows up with them, which means that as they get older the audience knows the past and the history of what they went through before which gives emotion and empathy. There are different characters that show up later on as the story progresses but none really that affects the characters that much, except maybe for that girl that has a crush on the guy but then backs off because she sees him texting (that's right biatch, that's his girl, he's taken!)
Overall the OVAs were spectacular, one of the best that I've seen so far and for every anime fanatic that's starting out I always recommend this OVA to be watched, because I don't know how many buckets I've cried into just watching this over and over again.

Even though this is pretty much just a short animated collage of all the gundams ever it is definitely still worth mentioning.
For more information, this clip was for the 30th gundam anniversary, it shows all the gundams from each universe including the ones outside from the Universal Century.
It starts off with the RX-78-2's core lander coming from earth all the way to space trying to avoid something from behind, they never really show that this something is because all the gundams are pretty much trying to protect it from that one thing... if it was just a Zaku II I'd shit myself because seriously, you'd

need all the gundams from every universe to protect you from a grunt unit? Nonetheless still a spectacular array of visual goodness, if you are a gundam fan then you should definitely check this out.
The art is really new, and considering it's only like two and a half minutes long it's no surprise that they made the animation as crisp and clean as possible.
the sound effects are exhilarating, although you can't really hear the music but if you listen carefully it builds this escalating buildup for the final gundam they display which is the original RX-78-2, it does the last stand pose, with all the gundams around it and it ends.
It's only two and a half minutes and I guarantee you that you wont regret watching it, pure awesome.

I stumbled upon this anime by going through a list of names and I found it quite interesting and unique. I usually stick to old anime but this one for some reason really got to me so let's start this review.
Let's start with the story, it revolves around this orphan named Teito who's enrolled in this military when at some point he escapes from the academy and ends up at the barsburg church which is a place that teaches the complete opposite from the military but still has combat training except for the good. liked religious relations in animes especially christianity and whatnot because it kind of relates to me since I am a christian after all, and it doesn't stop there, the story gets more complicated as more characters are introduced, and the good thing about it is the fact that not too much information is being said about those characters which leaves so much room for more intense discoveries. Although I do admit there were some episodes where it was purely talking and with an anime that had a "war like" setting you expect more action than blabbering, but it can't be helped the more the characters talk the more important the actions will be. I would emphasize more on the storyline but I'm afraid I'll accidentally say some things that shouldn't be said for people who haven't seen it yet. Overall the story is really good, it's not one of those animes where it's plain and linear, it really gives a lot of mystery and makes you think alot about who to trust and whatnot, I just wish they'd continue it somehow.
I have one thing to say about the art and it's that I don't have a problem with it whatsoever, this anime was made in 2009 so you can already tell by the year that they pretty much advanced themselves already. the colours are beautiful, the choice of scenery and angles that the animators chose are well placed and picked out, nothing seems too out of place, except for those mermaids... like why are there mermaids... whatever lol
The chracters in the anime are very unique and well made. The main chracter could use some more sense, honestly one thing I really hate about some animes is when the main character gets really annoying and that's never good considering you'd have to see him/her in every episode, I mean don't get me wrong it might be annoying to me but might not to others. As a protagonist, he's really doing his job as his role, the growth from the first episode up to the last is really believable, you can clearly see the experiences that he went through just to get that far and the writers did a damn well job on their part.
One character I really liked was Labrador, he's one of the bishops of the church and already that gave him that status of authority and leadership. Already from the name you can tell that he's one hell of an interesting character. He was really into gardening and his powers revolves around using plants and poison against his enemies.Pretty cool in my opinion.
This anime has a lot of biblical references but nothing offensive or anything like that towards the people who are in that religion. The Japanese always know how to make almost everything in our lives interesting and cool and they did a really good job with this anime, next time I go to church, I'll be expecting some crazy shit to happen just like in the anime haha.

Before I start off with this review I'd like to point out that I haven't played any of the .hack video games, so this view is directly from a person that has no background information from the video games.
This .hack is definitely different but similar in it's own accord compared to the other .hack series. The story is very plain and boring when read on paper, but really think about it, if you try to imagine the events happening in the real world it would be pretty messed up and interesting, the one thing I really liked about this

series is the fact that they put more emphasis on the players themselves rather than the characters inside the video game, the main character Tsukasa is "stuck" in the game, he can't seem to log out (although in the real world tsukasa is actually a female playing a male character in the video game).
The story gets more complicated as the number of episodes escalates but it mostly still revolves around the main character tsukasa, weird events start happening and the item called "Key of the twilight" is mentioned, which is I'm guessing the same item that they were looking for in .hack//roots, with that being said these events happened before roots, since in this one he obtained the key of the twilight while in roots it's considered to be a myth. Now the amount of episodes that Sign has is quite understandable, 26 isn't too much and too little either. Overall the story could use some more excitement considering there's almost no action in the whole series, the most you'll ever see is them wielding out their weapons and threatening each other to fight, but other than that it's usually just pure talking.
The art of the anime is pretty straightforward, nothing too fancy or too unique about it, this was made in 2002 so don't expect much about they way they look, for those that are really picky with the art and animation, all I can say is that for you guys, it's bearable to watch and I'm sure that's convincing enough for you guys to check the anime out.
Now the final thing I want to talk about are the characters, tsukasa's design is very very plain, and I'm completely comparing him/her to Haseo on this one because the way Tsukasa looks makes you want to go to sleep, I understand that his character in the video game isn't really for close combat or anything flashy like that but come on now... he's the main character can't you make him a bit cooler looking? The character that really intrigued me the most is Mimiru, the heavy blade character that befriends Tsukasa and Bear and is helping him/her trying to figure as to why Tsukasa can't log out of the game. What makes her so interesting is that she's the lead female character of the anime and yet she takes on the role as to what the male is supposed to be, which is the buffed up warrior role, and I think she plays her character quite well to a point where you know she has the ability to protect tsukasa and at the same time have that soft female side from her, (and plus I think I can relate to her because I've always liked warrior classes from mmorpgs)
Overall .hack//SIGN isn't such a bad anime, I've seen way worse ones out there and it's clearly safe to say that you really need to play the video games if you want to experience the true feeling of getting into this anime because clearly from my perspective as a person who hasn't played the video games you can really see from the scores I've given this.

To start off, let me just warn to everyone reading this review that I never played the .hack games so this is a view from a person who hasn't played any of the games.
Story
The story is a bit different from the rest of the .hack series, instead of focusing on the mysterious comas that's been happening to the players dying in "The World" this mainly focuses on an item that is supposedly to be in the game but not obtainable, the mysterious item is called the Key of the Twilight. The main character is a new player named Haseo and

everything pretty much revolves around him, he gets recruited to this guild which is dedicated on finding this secret item by their guild master "Ovan". I do like this kind of story compared to the rest, maybe because I can relate somewhat to their situation, whenever I start to play a video game there's always rumors about a certain item or something that not all players can obtain, and that itself already gives me the drive to try and look for it, and I'm sure many of you experienced the same. The story gets a bit complicated as new characters are introduced as well as familiar ones. Overall the story is quite interesting but still not enough for me to be totally "hooked on"
Art
The art was really good, I'm not surprised though because it was made in 2006, so there was bound to be some 3D graphics placed in it. But they did a good job in placed them though, there are some animes out there that totally fail at combining 2D artwork to 3D artwork and it just makes them look awkward, the fact that the setting is in a video game it's understandable as to why there would be 3D stuff once in a while.
Character
The characters were really great, I personally liked Haseo because he had the most growth out of everyone and that's what the main role is for the protagonist. You can truly see from Episode one to twenty six the experience and situations that he's gone through, and final result at the last episode. Ovan was a character that emitted mystery and myth, and that already gave him that cool suave kind of aura around him, which I'm not surprised since his character design was pretty cool, I mean come on a giant lock on some kind of mechanism as a left arm? How awesome is that.
Overall, the whole anime wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, it was the first .hack series that I watched out of all of them and thinking back now it's definitely my favourite. From what I heard from friends, Haseo is a really badass character in the games and when I have the chance to play, I can't wait to see what all the hype was about.

All right before we get started, just want to make sure that you all know that I haven't played any of the hack games, although a lot of my friends have been telling me to go and get the games because they are really good (from what they said)
Unfortunately the anime series are a completely different form of media so yeah this is my take on it.
Story
Honestly though, it's hard to watch an anime that where you're already supposed to know things and with the lack of background information it's really difficult to get into the story line especially when

there's still so much to explain. Although it's quite fairly simple and almost identical to the other .hack stories, it focuses on the mysterious comas that's been happening to the players all over the world, and how they're trying to solve it and yadda yadda yadda it goes on. One thing that really surprised me about this is the fact that the settings is completely in the real world, I expected it to be placed in the video game because it's .hack and all but that caught me off guard when the whole thing was set in the real world. Overall, it's getting old hearing almost the same thing over and over again from other series, but the upside is there's always new information that they present about the whole .hack series as a whole which kind of answers a lot of questions from the other series.
Art
The fact that it's an OVA, the art is already given as better than worse. I do have to point out that the style of art is quite different from all the other ones though, maybe because it's an OVA or maybe because it's actually placed in the real world rather than the colourful places of "The World", either way I really have no complaints about the art.
Character
I never really saw any character growth mainly because the time spent in the whole OVA weren't really that long, it didn't take them years or months to get to the end but I would say just days, so the amount of character growth from the beginning to the end I would say was "just right" not too much but not to the point where you wouldn't notice anything. They give you a good variety of characters, but the protagonists weren't very persuasive about their beliefs or goals, they never really showed that much passion about the whole ordeal. I found them too laid back with the situations that were happening and wished they'd react in a more believable manner. There was that guy that always had a cigarette in his mouth, I've always liked characters that are like that, shows them that they too can relieve stress the deathly way.
Overall
Honestly though, with my full opinion on this, the .hack series were probably the ones that I dreaded through watching the most, but then again I think back they were probably one of the first animes I've ever really watched seriously, so it was hard form to get into it and try to analyze as much crap as I can to make a good review.
Liminality was different because they weren't in the video game for once, and that already, gives this anime a point of uniqueness compared to the rest of the .hacks!

First off I would like to point out that I haven't played the .hack video games so already I really had no idea what was going on, although I do know that these .hack series did revolve around an MMORPG video game, so right off the bat I knew they were just players inside a video game.
Forgive me if I made some errors towards this review considering I saw this anime around a year ago so my memories might have been sort of disarrayed throughout those months but nevertheless I'll try to make this review

Story
Unlike numerous animes that I've watched the story for this series never really caught on to me, and what I mean by that is that it never really got me to want to watch the next episode after watching one. I mean sure it was interesting enough that they were in a video game and not many other animes have that concept but the fact that they are in a video game kind of gave me an idea that yes there should be action considering everything in their world is fiction so anything might be possible, and that includes ridiculous laws of physics and whatnot, sadly that didn't really happen. It has the typical good guy and bad guy scene going on, it's fair but at the same time it leaves so much more improvement for a better more complicated storyline, instead they just chose to go linear with it. It might have been aimed towards more for the kids since the characters themselves are children compared to the other .hack series but can't really do much there.Bottom line for the storyline, considering it's a video game I expected a more complicated and action packed story rathen than a very linear and predictable tale.
Art
I didn't complain much about the Art, with the library of anime that I've watched it's safe to say that art isn't such a big factor for me to like it, it's more for the storyline and character development. This anime was made in 2003 and it certainly looked like it with the art, nothing too fancy, a few 3D edits here and there but nothing that'll really blow your mind. The very different and bright colours they chose really gave that fictional look on them which is perfect for the kind of concept this anime held. Overall, there was nothing wrong with the art, fair.
Character
Now the characters are the ones that I have the problem with, being myself I don't really like children that much, and with this anime having the protagonists being children made me clench my teeth already, BUT that doesn't mean that this part of the review is focusing on negative personal things, it means that they are just not my kind of characters (being children).
They have shown really good character growth from the start of the series to the end of the series, I guess that's what they called "leveling up"? If they didn't show signs of growing then they must've been playing the game wrong for sure haha. Overall, there was a good variety of characters, almost every kind of personality could relate to at least one of them and they showed tremendous growth (protagonist)
Overall
Honestly, this .hack series had the most action out of all the other ones and just for that I'd like to make this series the best one out of all, you might tell me "Oh, you haven't played the games that's why you think it's okay", well it's true that my opinions might change about it if I decide to play the game, but I'm giving you guys the perspective from a person that hasn't played the games and I'm sure there are tons of other people out there that want to start watching this anime but decide to get a view from a person that hasn't played the video games.
