This took a while to make settle in my head. I wasn't really sure how to write this review, after having so little experience with 'horror' anime. I wouldn't call Another a horror anime, but more a supernatural/thriller anime. It isn't bad, either, but it definitely has some flaws.
Story: 7/10
While the story is definitely interesting, and it has, unlike most of the anime I know, actually decent and gripping cliffhangers, there are some really cheap moves in the series. Especially episode 9. You'll understand, I don't really count this as a spoiler.
Nothing much else to talk about in the story department, besides that the plot
...
thickens, as they say.
Art: 8/10
Nothing much to talk about either. The art is well done and each character stands out well. Especially Misaki, not that sure about Kouichi. The gore, well, blood, while there isn't much of it in the beginning, it ramps up near the end and looks well.
Sound: 8/10
While I usually ignore sound in anime, the ambience and the various sound effects in Another are pretty good. Not much is memorable, but you get the idea.
Character: 7/10
This is probably my biggest gripe with Another, even though it's not really large. Most characters have some development and act according to their character, but there's a few cases where they have really quick development just to be killed off usually in the same episode, Aside from that, others are developed well, Misaki probably the most.
Enjoyment: 8/10
The anime is definitely enjoyable and fun. One thing I have against it is that the deaths mostly feel like comedy, I can't help but laugh at a lot of them. It thankfully gets fixed in the last four or so episodes.
Overall: 8/10
This is a really short review, I know, but there isn't much to write about. There should be enough to make an image about the series though.
Pros:
-Plot has a steady pace and it thickens fairly well.
-Art is well done.
-Most characters are also done nicely.
Cons:
-Episode 9.
-A lot of the deaths are practically comedy.

There's often days when I have nothing to do - and that's especially true during summer holidays, when actual work is scarce and the boredom factor rises exponentially. Thankfully, since I have a toaster capable of video playback, I tend to watch some anime. I decided to go out of my comfort zone and watch Fate/stay night, which I also heard has a good visual novel from around 2004.
I didn't regret picking this up.
(My typical fashion of reviewing - discussing various categories in order and then a summary, with also very light spoilers - there's one part I just cannot omit from this one.)
Story: 7/10
While
...
definitely an interesting story, the biggest flaws of the story aren't any kinds of plot holes. No. The biggest flaw of the story is attempting to shove it into a 24 episode format. Even though it's done really well, there's still the occasional lack of information, unlike the VN version, which just spouts details at you since day one.
Art: 9/10
I will admit that the artwork has gotten me by surprise. For a time when HD just started being a norm, the visuals are great and the overall art style is also great. One thing I really expected was more blood/gore, but for the kind of an anime it is, there's a surprising lack of that.
Not that I'm complaining.
Sound: 9/10
Another good point of the anime. While I don't recall much in the music department of the series, I can assure you that the audio is very well done, and even the openings have decent music. Not much to talk about here.
Character: 7/10
Probably the biggest flaw of the whole series are the characters. Shirou Emiya has a typical case of trying to protect everyone. It gets surprisingly annoying after a while, but he tends to stop it for a while, and then he pulls the quote that sparked a meme of a lifetime: "People die if they are killed.."
Other than that, some of the characters are there to just be there. Some of them have actual motivations or motives to commit something, yet there is a character that does none of the above.
All in all, characters are a good hit or a bad miss.
Enjoyment: 9/10
Despite these problems I've listed, Stay night is surprisingly enjoyable, to the point where I've binged the rest of the episodes, ruining my 2-episodes-per-day rule. Although there isn't much action in the beginning, it starts to ramp up near the end, while still keeping the same quality.
Overall: 8/10
While Fate/stay night is a good anime, it definitely has its flaws, and it definitely is overrated. I even considered watching Carnival Phantasm, and then I realized I watch gritty anime that tends to be edgier than bismuth.
Pros:
-Good story
-Great sound and art
-Very enjoyable overall
Cons:
-The story needs to be more fleshed out, including world building
-The characters tend to be hit or miss.
(Well, that's about it. I completely forgot about Stay night, and so most of the review goes from my memory, which is thankfully very long, and the visual novel I haven't finished yet. Even though I think I wrote this review well enough to be understandable, I would want to see some feedback on my profile about it. Thanks, Hab.)

Gundam Build Fighters Try - a series that was expected to succeed just like the first Build Fighters did. The hype was pretty high, I'd say, and Sunrise definitely delivered - just not in the way a lot of us expected to. The series is still good, and that's what matters.
Note: This review contains small spoilers, including small spoilers about the story and the characters. Also, the designs. (This review also assumes you've seen the first Build Fighters, which you definitely should before watching Try.)
Story: 6/10
Not a good start already, is it? Try takes place seven years after the first season of Build Fighters, with
...
an entirely new cast of main characters, including some cameos from the first season - such as Mr. Ral (or Ramba Ral, really) and Meijin Kawaguchi. The story is practically the same like in the first season, albeit with a few changes.
Sei Iori already left the school years ago, and since then, the Mobile Suit Club deteriorated, and hard, considering one of the main characters, Fumina Hoshino, is it's last member. All of that changes after the arrival of Sekai Kamiki, who at first shows ignorance towards Gunpla, but then shows some form of interest into it. They're then joined by Yuuma Kousaka, China's brother.
What annoys me the most about the story is how there are little changes to the story compared to the original - the goal of the plot is to win the Gunpla Tournament. There's less originality in the plot, and far less drama, and when the drama finally appears, it doesn't last for long - although I got to admit, one of the episodes sets this drama rather well and makes for an amazing fight. Despite all of these setbacks, the story still isn't bad, and it's still fairly good. There's definitely more comedic relief than in the first season, too.
Art: 9/10
Build Fighters is one of the few series where Sunrise fully realized its' potential with artwork and designs, due to the creativity that is the main drive of the series. All of the custom designs look great, and they have effects to boot. I wish I could talk more about the designs, since they all look so great, but I can't say much without spoiling everything. I can say one thing, however, and that's that you'll be surprised by the amount of unique design and performance choices of every Gunpla.
Sound: 9/10
Just like the first season, Try definitely delivers in the terms of sound. A lot of the effects and moves have their own set of sounds to follow them, especially Sekai's fighting style. The music is a bit forgettable, in my opinion, but it's great and fits all of the scenes well. Some of the tracks are also taken from the first season, which doesn't hurt much, considering how good the tracks were. The openings are also good, and the reappearance of the band BACK-ON is welcome.
Characters: 6/10
This is where the series falls a bit again, just not by a huge amount. Sekai feels like a boulder in his character development, and he doesn't develop much, unlike Yuuma or Fumina. His incompetence in certain episodes is either funny or hurts a bit to watch. There's no real villains in the second season, there's only opponents. Some of them are still very well made, but most of them only think about victory. I'd expect most of them to enjoy the fights, and not to be driven by personal gains or vendetta in a tournament with models out of plastic.
Enjoyment: 9/10
Still, that isn't near enough to ruin my enjoyment of the series. All of the fighting scenes are great and show just how much can Sunrise do, given the right situation. I still wish the scenes could be longer though, but that's just a pipe dream.
Overall: 7/10
Overall, the series definitely isn't as good as the first season, but it's still very enjoyable and good. I had a lot of issues thinking about the points I would bring out the most - most of them don't matter if you just want to enjoy the series, which you definitely can.
Would I recommend the series? Yes. Although it's debatable if you enjoy it or not, it's a series I'll remember for a long, long time.
Points:
+Great designs.
+Amazing soundtrack and sound overall.
+Great enjoyment value.
-The story is practically a rehash of the first season.
-Characters tend to be forgettable and their development is mostly small.
(Thanks for reading this review, if you ever got to this point. If you're confused reading this, don't worry, I was as well. I had a hard time trying to make the review understandable and to the point, but in the end, I think I didn't do that well. If you got any recommendations on how to improve the review, message me on my profile or personally, including my twitter handle. -Hab)

Gundam AGE - what many people consider to be a disappointment and probably one of the worst additions to the Gundam saga. One could however also counter that claim with G-Saviour and Gundam SEED Destiny. With much promise in its story and character arcs, AGE still manages to be a mediocre, but not an unenjoyable experience.
Note: This review contains spoilers, especially in art, characters and story, but if you seen enough Gundam like I did, you won't have much of an issue with them. Some of these spoilers are also very predictable.
Story: 5/10
This is the hardest area to write about. The plot looks very
...
promising and could hold much potential. Three story arcs? Three (Well, not three.) Gundams tossed around these arcs? A war with an unknown enemy with far superior designs? Sign me up.
Unfortunately, Sunrise managed to squander almost every opportunity to make the world more interesting, and the story more likeable. The three arcs can be rated as this: Not bad, but not good either - Good, even very good - What are you doing, Sunrise. Like the third arc's minirating suggests, the third arc turns so bad in its halfway point that the whole show looks bad. If you look more subjectively at the story, however, it's more forgivable, even though I like seeing a lot of combat and the appearance of the new Gundam model makes it pointless.
The worst issue with the story is the low amount of world-building and the amount of characters killed for almost no reason. There's some in the second arc that are almost completely pointless, and the third arc makes that even higher, removing possibilities of more character development.
Art: 9/10
Gundam AGE's art is criminally underrated - both the Gundams and the UE (or whatever I should call them for the sake of the review) have impressive designs that look more original than the designs in other installments. The idea of a modular Gundam is also great, although that concept is put on hold in the second arc, and only returns in the third arc, with the Gundam AGE-3.
If I could summarize the Gundams with just a few words, I'd describe them like this: Original Gundam - Zeta Gundam - Double Zeta (ZZ) Gundam. I won't describe the other Gundams - mainly because it would ruin the experience a little bit and they are quite distinguishable. It also isn't difficult to say what they're inspired by.
The Federation designs don't look too bad, either, and are a welcome sight compared to the typical GM-like mobile suit design that appears oh-so-often. The ships also look great on both sides of the conflict, and Sunrise wasn't afraid to experiment with designs overall, which made the show better.
Sound: 10/10
I got to admit, the soundtrack is flawless. It fits well into every setting it's placed in, and shows the intensity of the scenes well. The sounds are also perfect, especially in the Gundams' case. The openings are also pretty good and fit the arcs rather well.
Character: 5/10
This is where AGE falls again, and rather hard. I'm only rating it at 5 because I've seen far worse examples, and this definitely isn't one of them. The main characters are all pretty meh, except for Asemu, which is a decently built character, and Kio, who is practically THE reason the third arc flopped so hard. Flit doesn't seem bad, and in the second arc, he turns into a surprisingly good and believable character. The end of the third arc ruins that a bit, but that's expected. Woolf is a badass in the second arc as well, and he's still a good character in his own right in the first arc, too.
Unfortunately, a lot of female characters don't get that building they deserve, and they mostly turn into only romantic interests and, really, objects of insemination for the main characters. After that, they're practically only mentioned in sentences like "I wish Mom was here", or "Mom must be worried". I wish that wasn't the case, they could have brought some important character development. Some of the characters, as mentioned earlier in the review, tend to be killed off rather often, sometimes being introduced in the same episodes. One of the main villains even decides to throw some of that important building into the trash can and do some stupid things which only very few characters in Gundam can do, and that's quite an impressive feat.
Enjoyment: 7/10
Despite all these negative factors, the series is still enjoyable - a lot of the combat scenes are really likable, and the villain scenes are also decent. I feel bad for writing so little about enjoyment, since it's really pointed out by the previous sections of the review.
Overall: 6/10
I've seen a fair share of bad anime. This is a fairly mediocre one as well, but I don't think it deserves this much hate, despite me understanding all of it.
Would I recommend the series? No. There's definitely better examples of Gundam to watch, like Zeta Gundam. The series also failed due to attempting to fit three mini-series into a 49-episode format, and that's my biggest gripe with it by far.
Overall points:
+Great designs.
+Amazing soundtrack.
+Second arc in most of its entirety.
+Decent enjoyment overall.
-The second half of the third arc is so bad a seperate review could be made on it.
-Character development is pretty mediocre most of the time.
-Story's opportunities are mostly squashed, and thus the world-building is also rather mediocre.
-The attempt to implement three mini-series into the rather limiting episode format ends up rather badly.
(I think that's about it from me about AGE. I really expected this to be a shorter review, but I waited a few days for my experience to settle in, so I could form a more coherent and cohesive review. Sorry if the review is hard to follow, but that's just in my nature. I hope you enjoyed the review, and you can message me on my profile page about the reviews. -Hab)

This review has very minor spoilers that won't harm the watching experience. Most of them appear in the first few episodes.
Gundam Build Fighters, or, as I usually call it, Gunpla Build Fighters, is a, in my opinion, a very refreshing take on Gundam, this time by the use of Gunpla (Gundam plus plamo - plastic model) and plot particles. Even though I generally frown upon the use of plot particles and other means of power (looking at you 00, but that was acceptable), it's not anything major and gets an immediate pass. Now, to begin with the review in an orderly fashion.
Story:
As it goes with
...
the story, it's nothing special, but it is a new try in the Gundam series. Various players and Gunpla builders around the world want to test their Gunpla and their skills at the world tournament series. One of them is Sei Iori, who builds Gunpla like a champ, but is very mediocre at actually fighting. With the help of Reiji, an unknown figure who practically disappears like the wind, he can rectify that issue and focus on building and improving his kits. There's the usual drama that starts appearing around the halfway mark of the series and has actual relevance in the series. If you watched enough Gundam series like me, you'll know how some episodes will end. The story is also far more cheerful than the serious story of Gundam 00 (and Gundam AGE, but I don't like to talk about that one) and is executed quite well, even with some comedic relief that is more than welcome in the frequent dramatic episodes after the aforementioned halfway point. It would however need a large amount of world building to make the story work even better. 7/10.
Art:
Art is one of the categories I don't tend to talk about much, especially since I had to watch the series online, and at a lower quality. I can definitely say that the art and graphical effects are surprisingly well done, and that the Gunpla actually look good. There's even the original Gunpla boxes inside the stores. Compared with other series at its time, it also ends up being very solid. 8/10.
Sound:
This is also a small area of the review, because the sound is just very high-quality in general. There's practically nothing I can say against it, and the openings also fit the atmosphere of the series. 9/10
Character:
While the characters of Sei and Reiji don't sound ideal in the first few episodes, they start to seamlessly fit inside the series. Sei tends to his hobbies during the days, and Reiji fills his needs by filling himself by raiding every nearby food stall in a ten mile radius. He also has some antics during some episodes, and forms a very solid bond with Sei. There's also the odd characters from other series, such as Mr. Ral, from the original Mobile Suit Gundam. Each opponent or antagonist is also well fleshed out in the process of the protagonists' side activities and during fights. A lot of them are likable, too, and that rings very well with me. 8/10.
Enjoyment:
There's nothing to say about this one. The series has scratched the itch I had flawlessly, and still left me hungering for more. Unfortunately, the next thing I have on my desk is Build Fighters Try. 10/10.
Overall, in the end, the series has left me pleasantly surprised, with some good twists, audio and art to support it, too. It has also made me want to begin building Gunpla myself, but considering shipping and the availability here? It's going to prove difficult. In the end, I give the series a very good 8/10.

The first season of 00 left me lacking in something a little bit. I must say that I expected the second season to be bad, according to my friends, but it was surprisingly good.
Despite me seeing the whole story, I think I can safely assume some events remind me of Zeta Gundam. I won't say which, but the events are definitely better than the events of SEED Destiny. I'm too embarrased to add that series to my list.
Now, back on track, I'll start with the things I really liked. First off, the character development.
Every character that is in the series has their own personal dillema,
...
be it with the government, his/her family, past relationships and so on. Some are just hell-bent on revenge. Sometimes due to their own mistakes.
The main set of characters, the Gundam Meisters, especially have problems, but most of them are resolved near the ending of the series.
The music was spot on for the whole time, and some of the scenes without music left me focusing on the ambience of the scenes. I must say that it didn't work every time, but still.
The art is also very good. The new units that appear are almost always very well drawn and conceived. Some even have their different modes, which is always welcome. Sure, the eyes of some characters are just...eh? But that hardly affects the episodes at all. You should be focusing on the anime in general, no?
Most of all, I enjoyed the series overall. But as it always is, there are still a few problems.
Mainly, some of the characters just sound really clueless. I can't spoil them but I can at least say it's a few of the main characters. By clueless, I also mean naive.
The second one is a quirk of sorts, but the second opening is just not really appealing to me. The eyes especially.
And finally, the third one, is that some of the mobile suits are just plot materials. Especially the main one, but it's also really rad so I can't say much against it.
Anyways, I recommend people to have a look at this series. A lot of the things are very well made and most of all, enjoyable.

(I revamped the review completely, as I think reading it must be pretty painful, since it's just one sentence after the other, attempting to form a concise review. It's still probably going to contain minor spoilers, so please keep that in mind. Since my memories of the series are pretty vivid, you can ask me about the series on my profile.)
Gundam 00 - Many people consider this series to be an edgefest or a bad series entirely, which is, surprisingly for the fandom, understandable. Some consider it a masterpiece of huge proportions, maybe after the disappointment from the SEED and SEED Destiny series. I don't
...
consider it to be any of these - while the series is definitely solid and brings some nice, fresh ideas to the old table of Gundam, I don't believe it is a holy grail of unbelievable power. I'll attempt to explain that later.
Story: 8/10
For once, this story is pretty decently original, lacking a lot of previous stuff that made older series feel a bit... stale. While this is very true for the first season, I cannot say that about the second one. That's for another time, howver. Anyway...
A set of four Gundams, mysterious curbstomping powerhouses arrive on Earth to eliminate conflict... by using conflict. Not gonna even try to fight that, I guess. When I say curbstomping, I really mean it. The enemy of Celestial Being, the organization using the Gundams, can only fight these mobile suits using a unbelievable amount of their own mobile suits, and even then it's probably doomed to fail. In case this falls out of the window, only ace pilots can stand against these suits - and that's for later anyway. You're going to see that while you watch the series.
Summary of the story is that while it's well-built and decently original, there's some obvious points of it that either don't make sense, or aren't well executed.
Art: 10/10
This one was just a gimme in my opinion. The designs look awesome. Especially the Flags and the GN Particle powered Gundams. Speaking of those, they also look neat, with a nicely sleek drive that emits them.
All of the coloring is neatly done, despite looking a bit pale at times. The visceral glory in combat scenes is also very neat and helps the immersion.
Summary? Not needed, it's great imo.
Sound: 8/10
While the sound is very well done, I don't remember much aside the opening music. Some of the music in the scenes is neat, but tends to be forgettable. Moving on from that, the GN weapons have a nice kick and that slight hum that helps them make feel a bit better.
Character: 8/10
Simply put, all of the Gundam Meisters have a quirk. Setsuna is pretty edgy and quiet at first, but it's explained why and he opens up later. While some characters just exist to be evil, and some exist to be killed off later, all of them are pretty well done, and that's a big plus for me.
Enjoyment: 10/10
Since I like games with tons of combat, glory and story, this one fills all needs perfectly. All fight scenes are nicely done and they're really fun to watch.
Overall: 9/10
A nice series with most nice things I need in an anime.
Pros:
-Excellent visuals and fight scenes, along with an original plot
-Sound is nice
-Most characters
Cons:
-Music tends to be forgettable
-Some characters feel more edgy than the swords in the series
-They're also a bit forgettable
