I agree that at least plot-wise it's not that great but when I first watched I was somewhat struck by the way time moved about around the main characters as if they just happened to pass it by, not being affected by it in any way.
I found it immensely intriguing to see how the technology and general surroundings were changing while they remained the same to a fault.
I gave it an 8 because I was so fascinated by it and its concept.
A lot of animes have characters who live for ages but this is so far the only one I've seen where we get a small glimpse into what it's like to see the times change and the people around you age.
