Story - 8/10

Char's Daily Life is, as the name suggests, a Slice of Life manga. Nevertheless, the mangaka opted for a comedic, at times almost absurd approach to the genre. Char's Daily life tells various interconnected stories from the life of the man we know as Char Aznable and his newfound friends in situations both mundane and taken straight out of the mechanime, but completely ill-fitting to our reality. Nevertheless, it is not an episodic manga and there is character and plot development.

Art - 7/10

It's an enjoyable artstyle that does its job, not much else to say.

Character - 9/10

You'd think that a Gundam parody manga ...

SoreMachi is a Slice of Life story, but mixed with many many different genres, each feeling like if the author decided to write a dedicated manga, every single one of these would be good.
Despite its simple core, the writing in the manga is truly excellent and the somewhat chaotic (I assume on purpose) progression of the lives of the staff of the Maid Cafe Seaside, especially the Main character Arashiyama Hotori, is both fluid to read and never gets old. The first few chapters are kinda meh ngl, alongside a single weeb-brained later on, but the overall quality is very high and consistent ...

Are you familiar with the premise if the Anime/Manga Great Teacher Onizuka? This is basically the same thing, only written about half a decade earlier, only focusing less on the personal problems of the students and more about the troublemakers.
Or so it seems, as the plot basically gets abandoned for a more traditional Yakuza plot in the second half of the OVA. Both halves are good enough, but could have been both improved on.

High School Jingi is animated in a typical late 80s/Early 90s artstyle, but borrowing from several other styles such as one reminiscent of Leiji Matsumoto's in one scene for ...

Banking on the modern revival of 1980s pop culture, we have a remake of a 1980 Tokusatsu inspired children's anime... by Ryosuke Takahashi of Armored Trooper VOTOMS fame? Well, I just had to check this one out and I am glad I did.

Muteking the Dancing Hero is an anime based on a simple concept, seen in anime and western animation alike hundreds of times before. An evil plot threatens the regular lives of people in Neo-San Francisco. Mixed in there is a subtle critique of modern day large scale capitalism, gentrification and consumerism from a most likely social democratic perspective. As for the main ...

Eight years after the events of 0079's One Year War, conflict has broken out again in the solar system and Gundam's Universal Century continues.

Story: 10/10
The story is by far the best part of Zeta Gundam. Highly political in nature, Zeta Gundam is a good depiction of a conflict breaking out over ideological differences, the lust for power and the remainders of a defeated ideology and their supporters. Tomino lives up to his reputation and wrote a story in his signature style, in which plot armor is relatively uncommon, cynicism (influenced by his fragile mental health at the time) prevails and the very nature of the ...

Ah, a 1979 Shojo anime? I have to admit, I was skeptical, but I ended up enjoying this one a lot.

Story: 10/10
The story is set in the final days of the French Monarchy, and it tells of political drama, interpersonal drama and petty drama that, as every person even vaguely familiar with the fate of the historical Bourbon Kingdom of France, ends up culminating in a way rather unfavorable for the ruling class. Focusing on how contemporary society changed, and how the main characters interacted with it and each other, it's a masterpiece of storytelling.

As someone who is a big Star Trek fan, something just clicked with me when I started watching the Irresponsible Captain Tylor, and by the end of the series it had become one of my favorite animes ever. Some friends have told me that Musekinin Galaxy☆Tylor was awful. They were right.

Story: 1/10
The story is basically a flanderization of the 1993 anime's plot, with Tylor, "Yamamoto" and Azalyn going on a journey.

Art: 2/10
The art is pretty standard modern anime, but Tylor and Azalyn look really bad and the new character looks somewhat out of place but doesn't reach the ridiculous appearance of say Shia Has in ...

Preliminary (81/? chp)
Having watched the anime shoot up the anticipation ranking pre-season, and having seen the trailer which portrayed pretty-much bullying, I talked about it with some friends online.
One of them told me that the story does indeed get better, which made me curious enough about "Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san" to read some of the manga.

He was right. It indeed it did get better.

Story: 2/10 (Chapters 1-10 ish) 4/10 (Chapters 10-39 ish) 7/10
The story begins in the worst way possible, with Nagatoro "messing" with her Senpai in a rather mean-spirited way that outright crosses into sexual harassment at times. Yikes. However, the story does eventually pick up, and ...
