Wow, I just saw your comment, and I had completely forgotten that I had written that! Thanks for bringing a blast from the past (I really did feel nostalgic even though it was only two years ago), and I'm glad that someone read what I wrote. Anyway, I agree with you as well, and I don't think you are reading into it too much. People can interpret media in so many ways that I personally believe that "reading into it" can never be too much, though some interesting conclusions do sometimes pop out. I think your line of thinking is absolutely correct, however. The aunt has her own flaws, where she was forced to take care of two children whom could do nothing but leech off of her (in her eyes). Despite the fact that they are family, I think war and the immediate time of need of that era drove people to their worst, especially on the losing side that was Japan. Thanks for the additional analysis!

Ah, thank you for the kind words! It's amazing to me that those videos still get around, but if any of them do, I'd hope it would be the fan service one. I've been battling for the brilliance of good fan service since before I started Monogatari; it's one of those things only anime could possibly pull off xD

Yes, I keep putting it off because I mean to rewatch everything first, but I have so much going on in my life atm... it makes me feel old, but I'm starting to understand those people who say "I don't have much time for anime anymore". It's pretty much a lifestyle, you're either all in or it's hard to be in at all I find (apart from very specific genres like yuri, of course, which I can follow without thinking much about).

And of course a Happy New Year to you as well, I hope you get 365 days closer to your aspirations, whatever they may be!
