I was the opposite. I watched Tentai before Gintama. I think it's true that if you like one, the chances you'll like the other are pretty good. I just knew I'd like it, considering all the Power Rangers I saw as a kid. I know what you mean by first impressions. I had a similar opinion of DMC.

I was always interested in DMC, since I've listened to a few heavy metal bands, and a series making fun of the genre was a god send. I never understood why they had Detroit in there name lol. I know what you mean. Some people like potty humour and others like parodies, etc.

I haven't seen Cromartie or Otokojuku, so I'll have to see about them.

It's just such a crazy concept. I wish there could be a season three, but I'm guessing Tentai isn't popular enough for that. Whenever Vamp calls Sunred to cancel a fight because something came up. XD

I know what you mean. A lot of the characters are memorable (and hilarious). I just love Usacots (and his VA) and Taremimi. The skit with the hero who wants to be a villain, and then his family shows up. Sunred's helmet can do everything. XD

I always found it hilarious how they organise their fights like toddlers would organise play-dates. So great.

I'm glad I was able to find another Tentai fan on here, too. I know what you mean about humour being subjective.

The Curse of Kazuo Umezu is a very special title. Similar things... well... if you like the old horror vibe, I recommend Hell Target, Jugde, Deimos no Hanayome or Karura Mau Movie. Specially the last one since, well, is the only one that is not in your list

Anime I thought were funnier than gintama, how about bleach, dragon ball (original), soul eater, school rumble, reborn, FMA and bobobo-bo bo-bobo (watch it, it's easily the funniest anime I've ever seen, but you may not like it if you don't like mindless, random humour.)

Bebop is a wonderful anime, great memorable characters and even memorable side character. Lively when it needs to be and serious when it needs to be. Outstanding and realistic action (for the most), a little plot armour is there but that's completely ok with me as to the amounts i've read in normal shounen. The characters have outstanding back stories and the ending is just one of the best I've seen. I normally don't marathon anime but I finished bebop in a couple of days just like proxy.

I've been avoiding ken for how my friend described the MC to me...seems like a self righteous bitch of some sorts. BTW manliest anime is tengen toppa gurren lagan... no comparison there.

BTW I'll be finishing texhnolyze today... let's see if I like it or not.
