About Ajoura
MINI-REVIEWS CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION

New list, old ways. Random streaming of whatever you don't think about.

I like making avantgarde music. You can listen to the music here.

Here is the closed old list.

I write mini-reviews in my anime list in Russian, so deal with it.

Have fun!

Woah, that's pretty "avant-garde". XD

Although a form of art, I'm personally happy it's not present in anime openings or endings.

But you're right. Japan isn't the kind of country I see doing this kind of stuff. I think Japan is still in a stage of trying to prove themselves (which is not a bad thing), whereas other music industries with less of that will try stuff out of norm to stand out.

Welcome back, блин!)

The first two volumes, I was like LOL. Dark humor at it's best. The way Punpun and his family are portrayed as penguin-like creatures and the whole God thing was pretty unique, but it distracted me a lot during the serious parts. But I got used to it evantually.

But after that, it starts to gonna take itself more seriously, and it becomes something much darker. It goes into the darkest corners of human relationships, and takes you on a ride through the human mind. It's also one of the most depressing things I've encountered the past few months.

I see. Who is it?

blob | 02-06-14, 8:25 AM
Ah, I see, I didn't use the expression correctly then. Trust me, I know how hard a violin is to play. I have tried many instruments even though I don't play them because my brother is into it. It's not one of the most complex to play instruments for nothing. Takes a lot of practice and experience to play it fluidly not to exclude the preparation. And yeah, the humidity in the air influences the sound of a violin, too... Well it does for other instruments, but I heard it was more hardcore caution with violins. That and they keep changing accords (is that the right word? :x).

Right now, I can't check the video, but I already see what kind of video it is (or the music played).

It depends how you see it, I guess. I see the use of violin in rock being very avant garde. With the sound coming out from it, I don't understand why not all songs use this technique to compose beautiful music! Maybe it works best with female singers. Maybe I also believe there to be a lot of female singers in proportion in Japan versus other countries, but that's probably just because they're preferred to male for anime series. :T

blob | 02-05-14, 6:31 PM
True, Japanese songs have no rhymes, from what I heard so far. If you're looking for poetry, you'd best go for rap than J-rock.

I'm not really into electric music, vocaloids and that sort.

I don't even understand their words, the meaning of the sentences, yet I still find it so attractive. When listening to their songs, you could really tell there's a gap of culture that I sort of blindly fell in love with.

blob | 02-05-14, 3:32 PM
I rather vocal, but not only from Japan, I prefer vocal in general to instrumental. I don't sing nor play any instrument, though.

I like Japan's music industry more than any other country's. Their rock is special. I don't like touching pop too much... although J-rock is more "popular" in Japan than rock in North America. I like the instruments; even though it's rock, they got violin and piano going, the voices are clean and I really enjoy them.

The better musicians here end up being screamos, "boring male singers" (or nothing special / not so great vocals) or instrumentals.

Also, like I wrote on my profile, the energy that comes out of Japanese songs is unparalleled. Is it because of a female singer? I don't know. And I don't mean the quantity of energy, but the quality of energy (not the music). It just makes me feel so good for some reason. You're from Europe so your "traditional music" is a lot different from mine and I always saw Europe as a bigger rock industry than North America, but if I were to describe you the feeling, I'd say I feel the same way I felt when I first listened to Amaranth from Night Wish...

I like male singers too though, just that it seems their voice is so much more limited in rock and excels more in other genres, the one I like less, unfortunately.

I am done with this conversation. The problems you have with the series are non-issues based on your misinterpretation of the events in the show and your sexist beliefs that rigid gender roles must exist even in television.

Your lunacies were not worth acknowledging in the first place.

Meh, the biggest problems I got with mine is due to my province being enemies with the rest of Canada, and I think he doesn't like Quebec either and stuff like his implication in war (but that's probably America's fault) and how he doesn't want to respect the environment like everyone else because of the costs.
