Note: I won't use my rating formula here since the anime hasn't finished yet. This rating will be based solely on my bias, and this review will be unstructured.

Up to ep 8, how's ;Child been doing, you ask? Well, in order to answer that. Let's start from the beginning of the show, I mean, before it. Remember the 'Chaos;Head' episode, more known as Chaos;Child ep 0? Sorry but without prior knowledge of Chaos;Head it was just hard to grasp even the easy-to-get parts in that cram session (of course I know Chaos;Head's ending is different from this alternative version). ... Now, this sequel, being the aftermath of the C;H's male lead's alternative decision, tries to make a lot more things a lot crazier and even a lot more than a lot of that. That's definitely a lot, isn't it? Now if you paid attention to what I just said, it didn't make them a lot crazier.... but rather.. it tried to. Lucky for it, it wasn't all for nothing. Now, let's go back to the question, "Up to ep 8, how's ;Child been doing?". It's has been doing very good! At first, it may seem like all WTF in the head but try not to bother making sense out of a lot of stuff too much since the confusions are intentional. By the time you get to ep 7, you'll thank yourself for not giving up on this one. And oh, that's not all!!!! Watch ep 8!!!! Don't let your attention span get you bored this early in the series, you won't regret it. The story is getting better (I mean, BETTER). Again, were you paying attention? I said "better", meaning that the story was already good to begin with, okay? The art is maintaining its quality. The sound is getting more important and related (relatable?), mainly because of the story. Speaking of the characters well, here's where you can find a lot of setbacks. I don't know how many episodes this is going to have but clearly the pacing is handicapping the development of most characters. This is significantly evident when something terrible happens to someone important. How about my enjoyment? Well, I'm afraid to say that my enjoyment came from the latest episodes since stuff from the previous eps is made logical sense by them. I understand that the main setback is the pace — one reason why this show is a highly potential hit-or-miss. Hi Steins;Gate and Neon Genesis Evangelion! Overall, my highly biased rating for now is 8. It could go lower or higher depending on the next episodes (and probably I'll re-watch this anytime before the series finishes).

This is my fourth review and I'm tired of writing stuff and I'm not good at writing reviews so this is going to be a bad review I think. I didn't put any explicit spoilers but clues pointing to something might be visible. So here we go..

Story:
Well, there you have it - a good take on the romcom genre with a little deviation from the generic mainstream stuff, this being caused by the gentle touch of shoujo. After watching the first few episodes, I thought there would be a fair amount of turning points but it chose to maintain its slow pace and introduce them ... only at times it believes are right. This is why I would say there is almost always so little progression between episodes it'd feel very episodic. Still it managed to be consistent without looking too mechanically repetitive. The core story, although not that great and original, is cute. You might cry, laugh, but most of the time, smile, two kinds of smiles though, the happy smile and the hopeful smile. Sadly, there was LITTERally no major plot, but oh, it all ends with a smile. And oh wait.. didn't I just say it's smiles most of the time? Summing it up, it's good.

Art:
I think I'll divide my art rating into subratings:
- drawing: I'm very sure they fit just right with the characters, scenes, and stuff all through (8)
- color: not really expressive but is appropriate when it comes to conveying a certain atmosphere (8)
- animation: the movements, the special effects, they never failed me (8)

Sound:
I liked how different their voices sounded which only added to the authenticity of the characters themselves. The opening song is adorably catchy and the ending song is just about the same, if not less.

Character:
This may come as unbelievable but the main characters are legitimately realistically perfect. Not that they have no flaws or that they're the best, it's just that their goodness really warmed me up. Though it was a medium length of 24 ep, I never really felt any development going on that much, but it does exist. Anyway I might add, Rinko Yamato is my new kawaii idol. The best girl since Rem, the shinigami.

Enjoyment:
Well, all 24 episodes were like the sun to me, no matter what they're always enjoyable to see and feel.

Overall:
My overall score is a bit more calculated. I use my own formula:

with my bias of 8.

Story:
I won't jump into bandwagons. Really.. umm.. well maybe a little but this will be a bit different since I'm not a blind follower, if that makes sense. If you get what "unpredictable" means, then you won't find Death Note any less unpredictable. As far as "unpredictable's" meaning can go, it was a masterpiece during the first 25 episodes, sadly, the story took a significant turn downhill because what happened after pretty much ruined the dignity and honor of the show. Perhaps I liked the ending more than the last 12 episodes combined. And yes, like most people say, it's literally all cat and mouse ... throughout.

Art:
Simply said, averagely good, no-nonsense artistry that innocently tries to match the atmosphere exhibited in any certain situation. While occasionally ugly, the beautiful scenes gave a new light to the overall feeling and perspective of the show.

Sound:
Now, this is undoubtedly the best aspect. Man, I'm not exaggerating, the entire soundtrack is just damn amazing.

Character:
L, Ryuk, Light, his father, the police, everyone, they all live up to their potentials as norm-challenging characters without compromising their believability.

Enjoyment:
I regretted about the ending but I enjoyed it anyway. No matter how the ending would've turned out otherwise, I'm confident I'd still enjoy every bit because of the brilliant execution of the important scenes.

Overall:
A masterpiece in my list, but not a 10... WHAAA? Like I said, it's because of the last 12 episodes (except the last episode itself).

2nd anime MAL review in my life:
TL;DR at the bottom!!!

Story:
One word: PLOT TWIST! Okay, that was definitely one word more than one but my point is, in here, the plot wouldn't be itself without the twist. Get it? You may call it a bit clichéd but the way things are laid around the story out would definitely catch you off guard, by that I mean me, of course, and that's where the thriller (that moment when you feel your skin crawling) on par with that of Death Note kicks in. Though it's not the best story you've ever known, comparing its plot to those of ... other time travel themed shows such as Predestination (2014 film), Puella Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica, Re:Zero, etc. is an insult, not to say they're not amazing in their own right. And I almost forgot two important things: the synopsis above, don't let the synopsis get to your head, synopses are often undermining, and the pacing, this is a consistently common setback when you are used to fast-paced shows so lower your temper and higher your patience, okay?

Art:
Too bad to say that while I'm fairly observant and considerably picky of the art of the anime I watch, I am a proud novice when it comes to judging them with precision, though I have my own opinions. The art is not the best but when its very excellent during the times of situational highlights. The lighting and face effects itself are way more than enough to convey the main mood focused in the entirely of an episode.

Sound:
Most people might disagree with me but the sound is one of the best things that have happened during the whole show. Whether it be lighthearted or extremely tensed, practically every mood is instantly captured by the sound effects and soundtrack even better than the art did. Both the OP and ED are not catchy, but impressively nostalgic and unforgettable — they fit perfectly with the entire premise of the show.

Character:
Let's be honest and realistic. This entire cast, you might think, is full of generic, non-characteristic stereotypes, right? Well, not really, if you read between their dialogues and look right each of them in the eye, they're...

A BUNCH OF IDIOTS!
Just kidding, I'm actually just really biased since I'm a noob so low that even newer noobs seem genius to me, but wait.. why are we talking about me now?

Okay, back to the original topic, what I actually thought about the characters is that they're a bit unpredictable IMHO, especially the main characters. And that quite a bit speedy character development of Rintarou Okabe, it's already near-perfect.. but then again who am I kidding? I'm still being biased right here so...

Enjoyment:
Either everything's almost perfect or almost everything is perfect, it doesn't matter. It's definitely one of best anime I've watched as an unassuming noob. And if you've read everything before this part, then I don't think I have to tell you and explain a little more why I could give it a...

Overall:
Despite everything I've praised and loved about this anime, I don't downright rate it the way I believe it should be rated since I have my own rating formula (see formula in my profile). And using this formula,

I'm giving this anime a 9.8.

TL;DR:
One of the best, 10/10. Please be patient and watch it without expectations (or keep them to a minimum) so that you'd enjoy it. Note that this is a biased, noob-friendly advice from a fellow noob so you can rest assured. If after everything, you regret watching, I'll be happy to accept your valid arguments. Anyway, it's not supah-hackah.

..it's very very old but still doesn't even look like one of the best art of its time..

..I can't put 0, so let's settle for 1. Would be 2 if there were subs (dubs would be fine too!)

... ..amazing, give me any character that develops in 2-3 seconds.

Enjoyment: 7/10
..I really enjoyed watching the supposedly first anime ever created, it's like anime history is lifting her skirt a very tiny bit herself revealing a birthmark on one of her thighs for you to see for yourself.

Overall: 5/10

TL;DR
I liked it, feeling like I'm witnessing the birth of anime itself. No exaggerations.
