Crazy love triangles...squares...? Well lots of crazy amounts of love. After the initial parent "trade" thing, it is easy to see why later Miki can be so confused in love.
Trading partners, parents living together, falling in love with your 'brother', student/teacher relationships, etc. There is no shortage of love faux pas in this fun and entertaining manga. Warning though...even though this manga is mainly a comedy the characters are not always happy. Passion and emotions all heat up in this whirlwind of a story.

Crazy wacky situations that bring about the sweetest moments. This is the essence of Shoujo, and Marmalade Boy is no exception. Marmalade Boy manages to get it's firm grasp around the reader during this very sweet shoujo experience, and it never lets go.
Like most Shoujo manga melodrama shall always peak it's unwanted head into our world. As to be expected with angsty teenagers, but never fear Wataru Yoshizumi is a smart women and knows how to handle this with care. The thing with Melodrama that makes it unbearable at times is it stays around far too long. However this isn't the case of Marmalade ...

After reading Handsome na Kanojo from the same mangaka, I couldn't wait to reread Marmalade Boy after reading it two times and dropping it. This time I finished without dropping and read it in a duration of nearly half a day.
I dropped it twice before probably because I was still immature and hated love triangles not even giving it a second thought that they will end up together in the end anyway since most Shoujo manga do. But a third time, I've read countless other Shoujo manga and was exposed to many more genres, storylines and ending that left me sad and heartbroken but ...

Marmalade Boy is a shoujo romance-comedy manga by Wataru Yoshizumi.
Story: Two couples decide to get divorced and swap partners with another couple, then marry again. Sounds hilarious? Yeah, it is hilarious, but also very funny. Not only the adults, but also their children, Miki and Yuu, fall in love with each other. There are lots of the typical shoujo stuff, but also comedical and sad moments. I liked the story and the humor^^ Characters: The main characters are Miki and her new stepbrother Yuu. They didn´t like each other when they first met, but later fell in love. There are lots of supporting characters, like Meiko (Miki´s friend), ...

This manga is very entertaining. In every volume, there is a new surprise that adds to story appeals. The story might not have the average personâ??s ordeal, but it is very easy to relate with the characters. You canâ??t help but fall in love with them. The art isnâ??t the best I have seen, but it is pleasant to look at. There are many cute cover pictures. Overall I recommend all people interested in romantic comedies to read. You will not be disappointed.

Alright, first off, classic story, girl falls in love with boy, boy already liked her, blah blah blah. No idea why, but sometimes those turn out to be the best xD But, unexpectedly, these two have a.. strange relationship that leads to hilarious outcomes. Along their "journey of love" they encounter many strange situations. ( And yes I know, this is very vague, that's the point, you should go read it yourself.) Anyway, although the art is not the best, it's pretty good. If your looking for a tragic, heart wrenching, make-you-realize-something-about-yourself stories, go look somewhere else. But ...

This here is a great manga much better than the anime especially with the flow of the chapter with no unnecessary dramatic moments or filler stuff. It's neatly done in just 40 chapters.
The comdedy, the serioousness, the feels everything was well drawn and written. This is definitely one of the better mangas out there. The parents were awesome, Our ML and FL are great! I gushed over them a lot and my heart ached for them as well. The supporting characters were so good with their own stories and character growth. I loved the friendship between Miki and Meiko too. Also best part Arimi and Ginta are ...

It's a pretty good story. It's not like a cheesy romantic one and contains a lot of comedy. However, it's one of those romances that you love but don't really want to accept.
The whole step-sister x step-brother thing is kind of crazy. Not to mention when your parents are all in love and stuff with your boyfriend's parents... It turns out all okay in the end (being a shoujo manga and all), but it's kind of hard to picture in real life. The parents are crazy people too, they practically act like teenagers. If you're open minded to the concept "love conquers all" then ...

I'm re-reading this amazing manga series because I love the story line so much! Marmalade Boy has total eight volumes. But, I'm just going talk about the whole series, basically and it's plot. Well, first there's this girl named Miki Koishikawa and her parents tell her that they are going to get divorced. I do not know why, but I have this guilty pleasure of reading forbidden romances. Forbidden romance between family intrigues me (as long as they are not blood-related that is). That is one of the reasons why I picked up on Marmalade Boy.
Marmalade Boy has exceptional art for an old manga. In fact, it had quite a few beautiful panels. The plot is quite typical for a forbidden romance manga, but it has a different turn. Instead of a regular step sibling, the two MCs families are living together under a same roof (and we can't forget the fact that their parents swapped spouses). ...

I had a hard time with the first volume but it became more enjoyable as I continued on. This series has moments where it is actually boring & sometimes the storylines are just too cliche to be taken seriously, but it does have heart. Many of the characters feel real. (And if you have a thing for mildly incestuous storylines, this is definitely worth a read. :P)

I watched this anime as a child during the early 2000 and I was obsessed with it. The aesthetic, the love story and dramas... It was delightful. I had never read the manga until now, as an adult. I must say that the manga is very different from the anime, but I kinda liked it better. This series is such a classic, and I completely understand why. It's very much a typical shoujo, with all of the same trappings; love triangles; miscommunications; angst; friendships; etc. but I adore shoujo, and most of the cliches, so that was just a plus for me.
My favorite things about this story were definitely the characters, and their relationships (well most of them at least). Specifically the main romance between Miki and Yuu. They have a really great dynamic, and unlike other popular series at the time, the guy isn't a complete jerk, the most he ever does is just playfully tease Miki (which is always ...

i started off really liking this one but the longer it went on the less i could stand it. the author is allergic to tension and stakes, taking the easy way out of every conflict she finds herself writing. it's like she tries to avoid conflict all together. i had to drop out around the 34 chapter mark when yuu all of a sudden transformed into the most insufferable idiot of all time. it's fine for characters to be foolish but (and maybe im just imagining things) but he literally learned this lesson 5 chapters ago. like he learned why it's bad to be this
