'Be My Sweet Darling' is trying hard to follow the guidelines of a typical shoujo manga (in this case, manhwa), combining an unrealistic plot and some exaggerated characters which are meant to be funny and appeal to the readers. However, there is a limit to the cheesiness and sadly this manhwa goes beyond it.
The story is pretty simple: a girl and a boy go drinking together with the drama club, she gets drunk, he must take her home, but because he doesn't know where she lives, so he takes her to his own place. In the morning, they are found together in the same bed,

I did not like this manhwa at all. I dropped it midway after seeing how annoying and possessive the girl is that it's not even tolerable. You can notice the author was trying way to hard to be funny when it just turned into an annoyance.

This relatively short story suffers from having a really great premise that just unfortunately never quite delivers. It gets close and it has both some enjoyable and funny moments, but it constantly derails itself through missed opportunities to develop characters, themes, scenarios or drama.
The marriage happens pretty quickly so whilst it's fun to get straight into the antics, the characters never get the early development they need; although that's to be expected in such a short series. The story also suffers through squeezing in a side-character story which further compromises development in it's 18 chapters. Where the story does do well though is in it's handling ... |
