'Be My Sweet Darling' is trying hard to follow the guidelines of a typical shoujo manga (in this case, manhwa), combining an unrealistic plot and some exaggerated characters which are meant to be funny and appeal to the readers. However, there is a limit to the cheesiness and sadly this manhwa goes beyond it.
The story is pretty simple: a girl and a boy go drinking together with the drama club, she gets drunk, he must take her home, but because he doesn't know where she lives, so he takes her to his own place. In the morning, they are found together in the same bed,
...
none of them remembering what happened the previous night. So, their parents force them to marry. Well, I must admit that this plot, although really exaggerated, could lead to some funny situations as they try to cohabitate. However, the storyline is pretty incoherent (sometimes they accept each others, sometimes they are really distant, then they grow closer again, without a proper reasoning), which makes the humour kind of awkward. Also, the ending is very abrupt, kind of unnatural.
But by far the worst point of this manga was the character development. The female lead is very childish and possesive, lacking common sense, but by the end of the series (in a few pages) turns into a mature girl who understands her lover. Pretty weird, in my opinion. The male lead is just awkward. But I did find interesting the note of a side pairing (Jaemin and Gukhee). Too bad they didn't get a proper development, because that would've been a much better story than this one.
As for the art, I have no complaints, since I am not really picky about these things. The style was close to my favourite and there were just a few noticeable mistakes, not too bad anyway.
All in all, I can honestly say I didn't enjoy this manga. It was all too rushed, too forced, and the main pairing didn't get a proper development. Although the title and the plot stand for a decent shoujo manga, or manhwa in this case, 'Be My Sweet Darling' is far too overwhelming to satisfy.

Well, basically this is the sequel of Jigoku Shoujo, so I bet everyone who watched the first part is expecting a much better story, with deeper characters. Was the plot any better? Honestly, I cannot answer that question.
There are these episodes in the beginning that kind of irritate me. I mean, as soon as I started watching Jigoku Shoujo, I figured that Ai's companions are just mythical creatures, made up so they can fit the action. I wasn't really expecting any explanation as for what were they, where they came from, why they were helping Ai and such. Just like when you read a fairytale
...
and suddenly agree with the existence of mermaids, because the story kind of requires you to. The sudden involvement of the three in human life was unexpected. It kind of bothered me a bit, but then I realised it was totaly needed for adding a bit of depth to the characters. So yeah, more points for character building.
The final part, however, is quite brilliant (much better than the Shibata chase). It covers the brutally realistic subject we were faced to even from the very beginning (hate among human beings), adding a drop of tragedy to the scene of the misunderstood "Lovely Hills" town. Just for this single part, I am ready to award the series a perfect score for the storyline.
The artwork is really enjoyable and catchy (it caught me, that's for sure).
As for the sound, what can I say? The voice actors were as wisely chosen as in the prequel, and theOP/ED songs were beautiful.
All in all, I really really enjoyed the anime. I may or may not have cried in the end, but I am too curious about what it will happen next to make this review longer. I am really saddened at the thought that the series is going to end as soon as I finish the next 26 episodes, because this is one of the best animes I have ever had the pleasure to watch.

I clearly remember that after watching the Korean drama "Mischievous Kiss" I promised myself that I will never watch the anime it was adapted from. And yet, here I am, finishing the whole thing in just a day. So, for the sake of the k-culture fans who are interested in giving the original story a try, I decided to write a quick comparison between the two versions.
So, "Itazura na Kiss" has the same shallow, shoujo-ish beginning which leads to death by cheesiness. Come on now, no matter how much I try to ignore some facts, it is still clear that the debut of the series
...
is by no means realistic. The drama has the same crappy start, so I guess they are a bit similar.
But after a few episodes (very shoujo-ish, I might add), the plot gets interesting. This is the first anime I have seen that actually focuses a bit on the life after marriage. That is definitely one of the reasons why you should check it out. Also, the fact that the guy is actually confessing, feeling jealousy and expressing himself (are you reading this, Kim HyunJoong-sshi? - the drama lacks a bit on his part, but he's a bishounen, so whatever), makes the storyline easier to digest. I can honestly say that the drama doesn't even try to let the plot evolve, keeping it to a merely shoujo-ish setting. So yeah, depends on your liking.
Still, the anime presents itself with a crappy image. Apart from the pretty artwork, there is this white filter or something that forces me to make weird faces as I am trying to get used to it. It might be because of the stream I used to watch it, so if that's the case, consider this comment worthless and go on.^^
I hated the male seyuu's voice. (Naoki's, of course) ^^ He reminds me a bit of Jun Fukuyama's voice in Special A, and that makes me cringe. (I really, really hate Fukuyama in Special A - and in most of his other animes, but I guess someone will be coming after me if I say that) So yeah, when it comes to voices, I would have replaced Daisuke Hirakawa with Kim HyunJoong anytime. But apart form that, everything's completely fine with me.
As a conclusion, I really enjoyed this anime. It gives off that special "something", even though it is as cheesy as a shoujo anime can be. Even though I cannot rate it higher than 8 (because seriously now, I never rated a shoujo thing higher than 8, for obvious reasons), I really enjoyed watching it. ^^

Ok, so I finally decided to watch the famous "Monster"! Honestly though, I was kind of surprised. I can say that I expected better, but that may have happened because the hype around this anime made my expectations rise a little bit too much. Still, it is a masterpiece and I really enjoyed it.
Some parts of the story, though, seemed to lack some fundamental reasoning. There are many things happening that are either rushed or thrown in there a bit strangely. Luckily, these were mainly things on the side of the main plot, so it didn't bother me too much, but as I went back
...
on what I had seen, some moments made me cringe.
However, the main storyline was really good. The character development was also outstanding. The voicing was heavenly. So yeah, you probably already know that this anime is worth watching, so I will skip the worshipping.
Another aspect that could have taken more patience is the art. Some transitions are not right and some images are kind of awkward. But, just like I mentioned previously, most of the mistakes occur when there's a less important moment, so you might not even notice them (unless you have universe-sized expectations like I did).
Overall, this anime is worth watching. Although the hype around it may be a little too much, "Monster" is a well-told story which may come as an example for many other psychological animes.

What an outstanding anime!
Ok, so many reviews brought up the fact that the anime is more like a "verse" instead of having a very detailed storyline, and that's what makes it bad. Although I share the same opinion, I think that it displays so many problems of the human behaviour that I cannot help but like it. The fact that it is very fragmented is a way to show that anyone can hate, reasonable or not, and that hatred is a matter of perspective.
The characters simply make sense. I mean, it may look weird for someone that is new to anime or Japanese
...
culture, but if you have a bit of cultural experience, everything makes sense. Most of the main characters, however, do not evolve or suffer from an inner fight. Probably the most interesting point of view to follow is Enma Ai's (which was totally expected), but I sure as hell like that little Tsugumi girl.
As for the sound, I must say the soundtrack was chosen wisely. I definitely love both the OP and the ED (been listening to them for a few years now, yet I never knew they were part of an anime), and the BGM fits.
The art is also debatable. Many told me that it looks somehow unnatural and that it is not the "classical" anime look, but damn, I love it! So yeah, I guess it's a matter of taste...
All in all, I really enjoyed the series and it made me think a little bit more about behaviour and feelings in general. I definitely recommend this to everyone who has had too much of the plotless, fun to go animes and wants something different and eye-opening! ^^
